<div>The Esther’s Girl Empowerment Initiative (TEGEI) is a community-led nonprofit working to uplift vulnerable women and girls in rural Teso sub‑region, Uganda. TEGEI focuses on two core areas:

<div><span style="font-family:inherit;font-size:1rem;color:inherit;"> In many rural areas of Teso, girls frequently miss school due to lack of access to menstrual products and facilities, which contributes to high dropout rates. TEGEI addresses this by:</span>

<div>Distributing reusable sanitary pads to schoolgirls, reducing financial barriers and helping them stay in school each month.

<div>Conducting workshops to teach girls and caregivers how to make and maintain these reusable pads, empowering them with life skills and promoting self-reliance.

<div>Similar initiatives in the region have shown positive results—others have trained over 10,000 girls and helped prevent dropouts associated with menstruation .
