I’m raising funds for my older brother after our family suffered a heartbreaking and sudden loss. He died after being stabbed while trying to help a friend who was being jumped.

 My brother had just started college and had so much going for him. He played football, and he loved it. He was smart, easygoing, and always made people laugh. He was also the kind of person who was always there for the people he loved, which makes this loss even harder to understand and accept.

 I feel empty after losing my older brother. Right now, this fundraiser is mainly to help with his funeral expenses and take some of that burden off our family as we grieve and try to honor his life.

Help Lizzy Stay Enrolled in University

I never imagined I'd be writing this, but I was recently diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumor. The diagnosis came as a complete shock, and my life has changed overnight.
Unfortunately, because of the size and aggressiveness of the tumor, surgery isn't an option. I'll be undergoing radiation treatment, and while I'm staying hopeful, I know the road ahead will be difficult.

I've spent my life working in restaurants in Nantucket and New York, and I'm incredibly grateful for the friendships and community I've built along the way. If we've met, I hope you know me as someone who always tried to help others and bring a smile to people's faces.

<div>I am starting this Gofundme in hopes of helping my dearest friend Jennifer as she faces her battle with breast cancer.

<div>The diagnosis came after an already difficult two years spent mostly in the hospital undergoing over 12 surgeries related to a hip replacement she had that continued to develop systemic infections intermittently resulting in a surgery each time. All of these infections has caused her immune system to be severely compromised.

<div>When Jennifer was sent home in February 2025, she felt a lump in her right breast. I remember her calling me and being sure what it was. Her PCP palpated and was unable to feel the lump. I honestly thought it was a great thing her Dr couldn’t feel it. However Jennifer was sure, she KNEW it, and while we as her support team wanted to believe the Dr was correct and everything would turn out for the better, Jennifer had us convinced otherwise . I’ve shared so many details already, so long story short, Jennifer was 100% correct. She was diagnosed with Triple Negative Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, an aggressive subtype of Breast Cancer and started her treatments in July. Her body having been ravaged by so MANY INFECTIONS, caused something called Pancytopenia, resulting in very low blood counts. So since her body is in such poor condition from the systemic infections, treating the cancer is now difficult. Her Oncologist recommended immunotherapy and weekly chemotherapy, which adding that into the equation is causing a major problem within her body, since chemotherapy can’t differentiate between good cells and bad cells. Through it all, she has remained a fighter and a source of strength for those around her.

<div>What I do know is that Jennifer has a very long road ahead of her and due to her illness she cannot work, even though she would give ANYTHING to be able to!Jennifer has spent her life helping others.  She spent over 20 yrs working in the social services field. If you've ever met Jennifer, you know she is the first to show up when someone is in need. Whether it was offering a ride to a medical appointment, delivering groceries to a neighbor, giving warm clothes to the homeless or just lending an ear — Now, it’s our turn to help her the way she so graciously helped everyone else.

<div>She is a proud mother to 4 children, two are adults, one just turned 18 and her youngest is 11. Right now, her main focus is on staying alive and being there for her kids, but the stress of trying to keep a roof over their heads, food on the table and basic bills paid is making that even harder. <div>Hello, my name is Kathie. I’m AJ’s mom and Jayden’s grandmother. Many of you know that Jayden has been bravely battling a life-threatening illness called sickle cell disease since birth. His life has been marked by constant hospital visits, intense pain crises, and more recently, the development of chronic pain.

<div>Tragically, Jayden’s condition has worsened. He’s now facing a rare and serious complication—Hypoxic Respiratory Failure—which means his lungs are unable to properly absorb oxygen. As a result, he’s only getting about 43% of the oxygen his body needs. Jayden has been hospitalized for nearly 9 months because he's simply too sick to come home. The incredible doctors at Boston Children’s Hospital have not yet found a solution to reverse the failure, and a lung transplant may be necessary.

<div>But before a transplant can even be considered, Jayden must address the sickle cell disease, which is the root cause of complications. On May 16, 2025, Jayden will begin a stem cell transplant known as gene therapy—a treatment that brings hope but also carries high risk due to his fragile lung condition. The process involves intensive chemotherapy that will wipe out his immune system so his body can accept the new cells. It’s going to be an extremely difficult time, but this could be the cure we’ve long prayed for—a chance for Jayden to live a normal life. No more emergency room visits. No more endless hospital stays. Just the chance to be a kid again.

<div>Naturally, the long hospital stay and the upcoming treatment have taken an emotional toll on the whole family. AJ has been splitting his time between work and the hospital, trying to be strong for his son while carrying the weight of mounting expenses. Wanting to be by Jayden’s side every step of the way, AJ is taking an extended time off from work to care for him. If everything goes well, he’ll be out of work for at least 3 months—possibly more if complications arise.

<font color="#333333">Kwame Wilson is his name and if you’ve been lucky enough to know this man, then you know how great of a human he is. He has a huge heart, a smile that can light up the room, a laugh that just makes you want to laugh too, he is one of the hardest workers and someone you would always want in your corner.  He is a son, a brother, a father, a coworker, a teammate and a friend. A friend who could use all the help right now. Kwame was heading to work when he was in a horrific accident that landed him in the ICU. The seatbelt is most likely the reason he is still with us. That seatbelt also did some serious damage to him. Like I said he is in the ICU and has had a few surgeries already. He is showing progress but also has a very long road of PT ahead of him. Kwame is strong and a fighter so he will come out on top but he will also have a few speed bumps in the way. That’s where we come into play. I mentioned earlier how he is one of the hardest workers and a father, however, he is also unfortunately going to be out of commission for some time. He will have hospital bills and life in general. Life doesn’t stop when accidents happen and put you in the ICU. So if you’ve had the pleasure of crossing paths with Kwame, we ask now you show all the love you have for him. Would He help you?? Our Dad, Frank Bauer, experienced a stroke on Monday, January 11th, the last day of his 75th birthday vacation, in St Maarten.  For 2 years, our Dad dreamed of this trip, to spend time with his kids and grandkids, so on January 2nd, we set out to celebrate.  <br /><br /> As of Jan 14th, he’s still hospitalized on the island, being monitored and has 2 more tests scheduled.  <br /><br />Our first priority is to get him stabilized, and back to his home in Cape Cod.  This will require a medical assist flight of some nature, which is significantly more than a standard flight.   In addition to that, all of the medical expenses here locally are not covered by insurance.  As you can imagine, the costs are going to be rather significant, particularly because we don’t know when he will be released, what further tests or procedures lay ahead.  <br /><br />Every penny of this campaign will be going towards Dad’s return, and rehabilitation.  <br /><br /> Please share freely to your friends directly and through social media vehicles.<br /><br />Our thanks in advance for keeping him in your thoughts, prayers and for any contributions you can make.<br /><br />Frank &amp; Candace

Naelani Nicole Roderick born 4/20/19 to Vanessa Roderick and Nathanial Guzman was taken from us unexpectedly.  She was the loving daughter,  granddaughter, niece, and cousin to so many. Naelani's life was tragically cut short. Her memory will live on through us all by her smile, her spirit, and her contagious laughter.  Vanessa and Nathaniel will be having to move back to Massachusetts with out their precious daughter Naelani. Funeral arrangements will be held in MA with a future date to come. Diane Bonito passed away unexpectedly on June 29, 2020. She was a beloved mother, daughter, and sister.  Diane spent most of her life living on the Cape.  She was born in Falmouth, Massachusetts, and attended Falmouth High School.  After high school, she aspired to be a model with her natural beauty and brilliant smile.   She was a funny, caring, and beautiful person inside and out.  Known for her quick wit and nostalgic stories, she will be eternally remembered by her loving family.  Diane was a loving mother to her sons, Devin Michael Andrade, 28 and Manuel Pina Lopes, 18 who both meant the world to her.  She also leaves behind her beloved parents, Susan Frances Bonito of Greenwood, SC, and William Patrick Bonito of Falmouth, MA.  Her two sisters Nanci Ann Williams (Bonito), 49 and Jennifer Marie Bonito, 46 are grateful for her love and light.  She will be deeply missed by her self-adopted stepfather Dave, her nieces, nephews, extended friends, and family.  She is predeceased by her beloved brother William Jason Bonito. Diane's passing was sudden and unexpected.  We are hoping we can raise the funds for the funeral to help the family during this challenging time.   Any amount is greatly appreciated.

Kim Crosby Wallace passed away unexpectedly on June 13, leaving behind her three children Brendan, Kyle and Paige; her parents Donald and Diane; extended family; many friends and many lives she touched in her all-too-brief time in this life. 

Kim had a giant heart, she was sensitive and loving, generous to a fault and always thought of others. She adored her children and considered motherhood her greatest and proudest accomplishment of her life. Though she didn’t have much financially, Kim never missed an opportunity to send cards or little gifts to make sure those in her life knew they were thought of and loved. 

Kim was devastated by the untimely losses of her two sisters, Jill and Debbie, who were her very best friends, and the sudden and unexpected death of her husband, Brian, in 2019. She is now reunited in Heaven with Brian and her sisters.

The string of unexpected and untimely losses in the family have strained the finances of Kim and Brian’s three children. Kim’s loss coming during the ongoing pandemic crisis only adds to the stresses. We are asking for support as we try to navigate the this difficult time and make arrangements. We know times are tough right now for everyone and we are grateful for any amount of help we can get to give our mother the services she deserves.

Cece and Jason welcomed their beautiful son Micah David into the world 6 weeks before his due date . Cece’s water broke early and Micah remains in the NICU at Tufts NE Medical Center. <br />Because of COVID 19, Micah’s visitors are limited to one parental visit daily. The good news is that Micah is now breathing on his own, but Micah has since developed NCE, a potentially dangerous infection related to his premature digestive system. He is receiving nutrients intravenously and is also receiving antibiotics for his NCE. He is responding to his treatment, but is still a relatively ill little baby .<br />Due to Cece’s MS, she cannot drive anymore, so Jason has to drive her to see him. Cece and Jason are alternating visiting days while Micah’s big sister, 9 year old Elliana ,has to wait in the car with one of them due to strict limitations at the hospital and need for social distancing .<br />Money is incredibly tight for this little family , especially now . Gas and parking is adding up and they need to parent Micah to the best of their ability right now . Micah could be in NICU for another month .<br />Please consider helping this great family with a donation. <br />The money collected will be used for gas, parking, the option for them to get a hotel in case Micah’s condition worsens so that they may be with him in that instance if it occurs,and any other daily expenses . <br />I’m asking for our little community to pull together to help Cece, Jason , Elle and especially baby Micah❤️-he needs his parents as much as possible right now . My father, Chris Andrade, sadly took his own life on Tuesday.  We are heartbroken.  His smile, laugh and love for family is missed by all who had the good fortune to know him.  We humbly ask for your help so that we may honor his life and lay him to rest peacefully.  We are grateful for your help.  Every donation will help my family during this difficult time.  Thank you.

My name is Naomi Lemieux.  I recently competed in Hawai'i State History Day, and managed to qualify to compete in National History Day.  National History Day is an educational event where history kids come together to learn, compare projects, and socialize.  For my Hawai'i State History Day project, I did an individual performance, where I played a detective named Smart Cookie.  Him and his fabulous mustache investigate some whys and wherefores in the history of child labor in the United States.   After doing a performance using this character, I got selected to go to Nationals to compete with other teenagers in Maryland.  While there, I will have the opprotunity to meet other teenagers from all over the country and the world, to learn a lot about history, and to do some sightseeing.  I'm very excited! <br />The next step is to come up with the funds to go.  I have to pay for air fare, room and board, and general travel expenses.  Whatever you can donate is much appreciated, no matter how small.  Every dollar helps!  If you enclose your address in the donation, I will send you a personally made thank you card.<br />The due date for the funds for the group travel I am participating in is May 31st.

Smart Cookie Case 243: Child Labor

This campaign is set up for Joe's Mother, Melanie Swalec,  to cover funeral and related expenses.<br />I am writing this with a heavy heart.   A man many had so much love for.  An extremely hilarious and down to earth person.  Someone who rarely found bad in anyone.  A father to an incredible 6 year old little boy, brother, friend, grandson and an amazing son himself has suddenly left us on the night of March 27th 2018.  Joe enjoyed the simple things in life, among many things he had a strong passion for golf.  One of his favorite spots was in South Carolina where he and his Pa used to play together.  He also loved music,  going to concerts and live shows. He was a pretty big Grateful Dead fan.  He could also tell you anything about sports, you name it he knew it. Rally For Remmy

I have before me an amazing opportunity helping addicts too get clean and sober. I myself am an addict in recovery for over five years.  I haven't driven legally in Massachusetts in 13yrs due to my past recklessness. I now have the opportunity to get an amazing job in the field of recovery. But in order to get this job I have to pay a 1200 dollar fine (which I have covered) but also need a vehicle and a breathalyzer installed. I have two weeks to get this figured out.  If I can tell my future boss that I can without a doubt be driving with in a month or two the job is mine. For those of you who know me, you must know how much it kills me to have my hat out. But playing music right now 2 or 3 times a week I'm not even scraping by. If I can get 100 people to donate 20 bucks I can get a car and install the breathalyzer and begin on this wonderful opportunity that has been presented before me.

An amazing opportunity

This is the official gofundme page for Cassandra Merlin's son Quincy and their family. Quincy's mother and I have been working together to help find supportive resources for her family and she has authorized me to open this gofundme campaign with her as beneficiary.<br /><br />On August 28th, 2017 in Claremont, New Hampshire an eight year old biracial boy named Quincy was racially taunted, hit with sticks and rocks, and eventually hung from a tree by a group of white teenagers. Thankfully he escaped and survived. The external physical injuries can be seen in the photo. He was airlifted to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and is expected to make a complete physical recovery. Quincy’s sister was also present for the crime and fortunately was not physically harmed. Quincy and his sister have both suffered extreme psychological trauma as a result of this racially motivated crime. Psychotherapy is the most effective form of treatment for healing from the effects of trauma. Therapy or counseling can help people who have experienced trauma make sense of their experiences and feelings, develop plans to stay safe, learn healthy coping skills, and connect with other resources and support. Quincy, his sister and family need therapy and emotional support to begin the long healing process in front of them.<img class="not-resizable" src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/23794998_1505248357.6736_funddescription.jpg" alt="" width="100%" /><br /><br />This fund created here will be used to provide Quincy, his sister and his family members the psychotherapy and support that is essential for recovery and healthy growth.  The fund will also be used to support the family with costs of moving and issues related to financial hardship. Plus, Quincy's sister attends school with the teens who hurt her brother and is having a difficult time being at the same school. Additionally, Quincy's younger brother was also recently diagnosed with a blood disorder (ITP) and has been hospitalized.  As a result, the children's mother, Cassandra,  is struggling with significant financial hardship due to the loss of work incurred when she is caring for her sick and injured children. Tragically  James Lavin lost his life today in a horrible car accident.  His family,  friends, coaches, best buds will suffer from his loss. His family, hundreds of friends, coaches, teachers and community members are all mourning the loss of this amazing young man and his dear friend. We are asking for donations to help his family cover some expenses. Anything left over after that will be put into a scholarship fund to honor his young life.<br /><br />Owen was a light, a joy and had an unparalleled zest for life. He was an athlete, a hockey, football and baseball player and a proud Falmouth High Clipper. He was a friend, a brother and a son. He is loved dearly and the community is in shock after losing two promising and wonderful young men.<br /><br />Owen was famous for his mischievous grin and his crazy sense of humour. His friends could always count on him to bring positivity and fun. His teachers describe him as the type to light up a room and make every class interesting. <br /><br />It will never be the same without him but he would have wanted us to remember him in times of happiness. <br /><br />To quote Owen's own senior essay: <br />"Life creates a template for us, but the way you fill it is, eventually, the person you'll become."<br /><br />In 17 years he painted quite a picture.  After just 17 years he left us with beautiful art.<br /><br />Thank you for your donations<br /><br />I am hoping these donations help Owens grandmother Maureen aka Kiki with expenses and to set up a scholarship in memory of Owen for students at Falmouth High School, Falmouth MA. <br /><br />Owen  will always be my best friend. <br /><br />Thank you all again for the generous donations, thoughts and prayers.

John was a son, a brother, an uncle, and a friend to many. He was a hard worker and loved what he did. John was passionate and loved nothing more than his family and friends, always there to help when he could. Unfortunately John was taken from us far too soon leaving the family he loved so much behind. <p>The Duprey family needs help putting our beloved Ann to rest. Tragically Ann went home last night amongst friends, family and loved ones.  Ann was an avid member of the community and surrounding NA and AA programs. She always hoped that her story of her struggles would help others in theirs. Our family is asking for help with funeral cost, and support for our family.
