Dear friends, family and kind-hearted strangers,

I am starting this Gofundme in hopes of helping my dearest friend Jennifer as she faces her battle with breast cancer.

The diagnosis came after an already difficult two years spent mostly in the hospital undergoing over 12 surgeries related to a hip replacement she had that continued to develop systemic infections intermittently resulting in a surgery each time. All of these infections has caused her immune system to be severely compromised.

When Jennifer was sent home in February 2025, she felt a lump in her right breast. I remember her calling me and being sure what it was. Her PCP palpated and was unable to feel the lump. I honestly thought it was a great thing her Dr couldn’t feel it. However Jennifer was sure, she KNEW it, and while we as her support team wanted to believe the Dr was correct and everything would turn out for the better, Jennifer had us convinced otherwise . I’ve shared so many details already, so long story short, Jennifer was 100% correct. She was diagnosed with Triple Negative Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, an aggressive subtype of Breast Cancer and started her treatments in July. Her body having been ravaged by so MANY INFECTIONS, caused something called Pancytopenia, resulting in very low blood counts. So since her body is in such poor condition from the systemic infections, treating the cancer is now difficult. Her Oncologist recommended immunotherapy and weekly chemotherapy, which adding that into the equation is causing a major problem within her body, since chemotherapy can’t differentiate between good cells and bad cells. Through it all, she has remained a fighter and a source of strength for those around her.

What I do know is that Jennifer has a very long road ahead of her and due to her illness she cannot work, even though she would give ANYTHING to be able to!Jennifer has spent her life helping others. She spent over 20 yrs working in the social services field. If you've ever met Jennifer, you know she is the first to show up when someone is in need. Whether it was offering a ride to a medical appointment, delivering groceries to a neighbor, giving warm clothes to the homeless or just lending an ear — Now, it’s our turn to help her the way she so graciously helped everyone else.

She is a proud mother to 4 children, two are adults, one just turned 18 and her youngest is 11. Right now, her main focus is on staying alive and being there for her kids, but the stress of trying to keep a roof over their heads, food on the table and basic bills paid is making that even harder. She doesn’t have much family, they can be counted on one hand, which led me to start this gofundme.

We’re asking for your support to help Jennifer through this unimaginable time.

* The cost for almost around the clock care not covered by insurance (that is necessary now and in the future)

* Rent and utilities

* Groceries and home essentials

* Medical necessities not covered by insurance

* A better mattress that will help alleviate some of the pain from her right leg/hip being affected by constant infections and many breaks and surgeries

Jennifer has always given everything she had to help others — even when she had little herself, and now the tables have turned. Let’s show her she’s not alone in this fight.
