<div>Everyone who knows Dani loves her! This beautiful soul lights up every room with her gorgeous eyes and bubbly personality! She is a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. Dani was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer, which has spread to the liver. To battle this, she will have a port inserted and begin 3 months of chemotherapy to shrink the tumors, have 2 separate surgeries to remove them late this year, and then will follow up with chemotherapy again after the surgeries are completed. She has a long road ahead, but she beaten cancer before and is determined to do so again.

<div>The Knauer family is already beginning to realize the financial burden this will bring. Both Nick and Dani are local small business owners. Although they have insurance, there are copays, deductibles and out of pocket expenses to be had, and they will have to make ends meet without Dani's income. We all know the cost of food, gas and everyday expenses are at an all time high, this unforeseen burden is just one more thing for them to worry about.

<div>Right now, Dani's main focus is spending quality time with her family. She is staying positive and she realistically knows some of what is to come, having beat cancer years ago. Help support Dani during this difficult battle

On November 22, 2020 one of my best friends, Ruth Shapiro delivered her baby boy, Jiovanni Jason via emergency c-section. Because he was born at only 27 weeks gestation, Jiovanni will be in the NICU at least until his mid-February due date. Since then, Ruth and David (Jio's dad) have been through a roller coaster of highs and extremes lows--poor Jio has dealt with an incalculable number of pokes and prods, tubes, ventilators, blood and platelet transfusions, a stent, a picc line, and so much more. As of today, January 4, Tucson Medical Center has exhausted their care options and is transferring baby Jio to Phoenix Children's Hospital. <br /><br />Jiovanni has many needs at the moment, but the primary concern is the severe bleeding on both sides of his brain. Phoenix Children's Hospital is better equipped to deal with the severity of the bleeding and hopefully he can make good progress there and go home in a couple months. We already know he is a fighter!<br /><br /><strong>Here is where baby Jiovanni needs your help.</strong> Both of his parents live in Tucson and they need help to pay for their stay in Phoenix. Ruth has basically lived in the NICU since Jio was born. She is with him for every diaper change, feeding, procedure, and especially kangaroo care time so that they can have precious skin-to-skin contact. The only time she has been apart from him is to spend time with her beloved daughter, Amaya, who also has important needs as she is autistic and misses her momma immensely! <br /><br />The thought of being separated from Jiovanni for days at a time while Ruth commutes to and from Phoenix is too much for her to bear. Skin-to-skin is one of Jio's most important treatments in his fight to live. <br /><br />I have known Ruth for almost thirty years. Trust me when I say she is one of the most genuine, selfless, and loving people you will ever meet. Please help to take away this one worry so she can focus on being there for her children. All funds raised will support housing costs for their Phoenix lodging, meals, and gas since David will still need to commute for work. Anything extra will go towards NICU expenses--that's a whole other issue, and probably a future gofundme. <br /><br />ANY amount truly helps! Thank you so much!<br /><br />

Help baby Jiovanni in his NICU Fight

Our beautiful, larger than life Celia, has been battling Type 1 Diabetes for 20 years. Her body and soul are at war. Every day, she "spits in the eye of fate",as she endures incredible pain and damage to her body. Damage that literally threatens, and will eventually, take Celia's life. The most serious issues she faces are Neuropathy in her Autonomic Nervous System, as well, in her lower extremities. She suffers partial Paralysis in her Stomach and Upper Digestive Tract. She has Diabetic Retinopathy, which has already caused blindness in her right eye. The total darkness was (miraculously) reversed by Dr. Teske and his team, at the Moran Eye Clinic. As I type this, the Retinopathy is overtaking her left eye (but she will beat that too). She has serious Staph infections, issues with Bladder and Kidney's. Most recently, to qualify for the Transplant List, she had to have all of her beautiful teeth removed, due to an unrelated disease, she faced earlier in life called Amelogenesis imperfecta. Which, after all we could do, left unresolved Infection in so many root tips, it would have threatened her Transplant. The funds raised here will go to help with expenses related to the Transplant, as well as to restoring her beautiful smile when she is cleared by her Surgeon, for Implants. Please donate to our sweet Celia, if you feel inspired to do so. She is such a "brittle" and fragile diabetic. She is THE brightest light. She chooses happiness and laughter.
