My name is Kris Sanchez. I’m asking for help for my long time friend Donnie Darr. I met Donnie over 30 years ago when Mike and I moved out to Vail and became instant friends. Anybody who knows Donnie knows that he is a Vail legend. One of the original cowboys of Vail. Donnie was always the first one to step in and lend a helping hand to Mike and I. Anything from a sick horse to building our carports, arena, and even helping pour concrete. As I look around our property Donnie has had a hand in almost all of it. And I know it’s not just Mike and I but so many others as well. The once strong man we know and love is fighting his fight with diabetes. Donnie’s first surgery started in September 2024. He developed infections and bed sores from poor after care. Ultimately resulting in the amputation of his left leg. He since has been fitted with a prosthetic, but unfortunately is now needing his right leg amputated in the very near future. We are asking the community that Donnie has helped over the last 30 years to step up and help with donations. These donations will go towards medical bills and additional comfort for him inside of his house. While he is getting strong with his new prosthetic his fight is far from over. Anything would help. Thank you. Please share with friends and family that know Donnie.
