Lorine is raising this fundraiser for <strong>Lori Quinn</strong>, a dear friend, veteran, and small business owner who has always been there for others. Lori was doing something she loves, hiking out in nature, when a devastating fall caused extensive damage to her left knee. After two weeks of being bed bound, Lori was finally able to have an MRI and a surgical consultation. If all goes well, surgery is planned for the last week in August, followed by at least six months of rehab and recovery. On April 4th, Zachary went home to be with Jesus, and his heart was donated to save someone's life.

<div>Hello everyone, My name is Regan and I am Danielle’s sister. Today an unfortunate accident happened while Danielle’s husband Shawnathan was working. Anyone who knows Danielle and Shawn knows that they would give the shirt off of their backs to help anyone in need. Their lives are busy and their plates are FULL, but they are always there and very involved in the community. Between football, basketball, and cheer they rarely have a day off. Together Shawn and Danielle have four kids they are raising together. Their ages range from 19 to 5. There is no doubt that Shawnathan was a great father and even better husband. Shawn was a business owner of Magical Tree Services and was a known tree climber in the area. Danielle fully supported his dream of owning this business and doing what he loved despite how minacious it was at times. On Wednesday, September 13, 2023 my grandson, Dakota Dixon went to the ER in York after 10 days of complaining about a headache and occasionally vomiting.  My daughter, Alicia, noticed a very slight droop to the left side of his face and she made an appointment at his pediatrician for the next day.  However, the next day Dakota went to school and got sick again.  This time, Alicia just felt there was something more going on so she canceled the pediatrician and went straight to York hospital.  They took him immediately when she mentioned why they were there and after Dakota threw up again right there.   After a CT scan it was determined he would be transported to Hershey Children’s Hospital because they found a large mass on his brain.

<div>On Thursday he had an MRI that determined a tennis sized tumor on the right upper brain.  Right now, all we know is that it’s fast growing and they will try to remove as much as possible on Wednesday of this coming week. Because of where it’s located, there is risk of left side paralysis. We will not know anything until the surgeon gets in there and pathology tests the tumor.  The future treatment is uncertain at this time because it will depend on how much they can get out and what pathology results are.  Right now, it will be at least a 2 week stay in Hershey.  During this time, mommy and daddy are on leave from their jobs and having to cover the cost of food and lost wages.  We don’t know what medical expenses may be incurred at this time so we’re hoping to help with lost wages right now.

On top of Chemo she will be doing mistletoe infusions. The mistletoe infusion will be once a week in Maryland along with injections she gives herself at home. Unfortunately, cancer is not a cheap diagnosis. It affects so many parts of one’s life and it is definitely a financial burden. For example, none of her mistletoe infusions will be covered by insurance and will be completely out of pocket. I have been good friends with Lisa since 6th grade and she has always been the type of friend that will have your back.  Lisa, Nate and the kids are family to me and I know so many of you feel the same way!  I have had so many people reaching out asking “how can I help”. Well, here is one way we can help them. We can help raise money so They don’t have to stress over how to pay for these infusions and all the other medical bills that will start coming in. It's a muscle tissue Cancer that primarily affects children, with a survival rate of 5yrs. At age 36 I was first diagnosed with this Pediatric Cancer. Hearing those words the very first time was numbing, Fast forward 7yrs later(now), being told that my prognosis is very poor and I'm deemed inoperable by my current team of medical professionals. All of this has created a sense of urgency to share my story. <br /><br />I've always been healthy. I live a modest life and have always worked hard, focused on God, my family and close friends. I had kept a small savings; you know, “just in case’. My life however, drastically changed when I was diagnosed with Sclerosing Rhabdomyosarcoma back in 2013. I had gone to the dentist for what I assumed was an abscessed tooth only to be referred out to discover otherwise. It was a malignant tumor. I could go into some technical terms that most would require a medical degree to comprehend, but I’ll spare you the jargon I’ve only learned through my experience. <br /><br />The “just in case” occurred, and life as I knew it was over. I lost my barber business, fell short financially, and my family was put through unexpected trials.  I have a fiance and three children, two of which are under the age of 3 years old. I had undergone treatment at that time and after a year was in remission. Life appeared to be getting back on track until 2020. My fiance and I were preparing for the arrival of my third child and I knew something was wrong. The excruciating pains were back in my face and neck. While most were concerned with COVID related isolation and challenges,  I was having difficulty scheduling my routine follow ups. By the time I was able to receive the results of my scans, I had learned the cancer had returned. The cancer extends from my jaw to the base of my skull. It is deep in the tissue in my neck and is now pressing on my carotid artery. My team of medical professionals said I'm no longer a candidate for radiation as I had gone through extensive treatment previously. This could in turn rupture the artery. The location of the cancer has made it currently inoperable. I’m currently receiving/trying multiple types of chemotherapy. The hope is that it will shrink enough to operate. So far it has been an unsuccessful journey. I am remaining hopeful. <br /><br />In addition to fighting for my life, I fear the weight of the burden my family will endure as I go through this process. We are currently working with doctors across the country in hopes to find the solution. My physician would like me to get the proverbial second opinion (technically my fourth) and begin treatments in Texas. And 9% loans suck. <br /><br />I’m self sufficient and get no government aid. I’m starting grad school next semester at Harvard and have picked up a job in Boston to help with some of the cost. I worked 20-30 hours a week during my undergrad, too. <br /><br />Even $1 is better than no dollar. Why should people give me money?<br />No, I don’t expect to reach my goal. But if I even get $100 then that’s $100 I didn’t have before that I can use for school. Lol<br /><br />Why dont i take out loans and get a job like like everyone else?<br />I work 30 hours a week as an undergraduate student and I’ll be working full time in grad school to make ends meet. I’m also taking out loans. School is expensive. And I support myself.  I don’t expect others to pay for my school. But with this post gaining popularity why not try and shoot my shot? Any amount of student loans that I can not take out are a plus.

York Friends &amp; Family.  Written by brother Garret.   NOT 1 MORE!!!    Tuesday 11/20 We lost my younger Brother ALEX LAUER in a sudden &amp; unexpected way.  A battle so tough we can only read about  &amp; understand from his everyday journals he left behind to teach &amp; help others about his fight with this horrible addiction.  As strong of a Lauer &amp; good person he was he couldn’t do this alone in the end.  Alex was tough, very smart, funny, loving &amp; so strong of a character with a family he knew loved him through thick and thin.  It still took him away from us suddenly.  He was trying to manage this himself &amp; lost because of its power.  His journal messages explain in full detail the trials &amp; how he wanted to help people know more about this &amp; his difficult journey.  He being stubborn &amp; strong thought he could win against it himself.  He passed with no pain &amp; is free now.  His message &amp; example left behind is for us to help other families &amp; addicts get help.  This was not suicide or an overdose.  This was a lethal lacing imbedded in what he thought was a normal dose of his regular routine.   Regardless the addiction was not a good one.  What he’d want people to know is at anytime this disease can take you unexpectedly and don’t think you can do this alone as a family or direct addict yourself, so get real professional help before its to late.  Alex would never leave his family or daughters behind but the addiction did in this case.  I am of course devastated yet proud of my brother for being an open book with such a tough personal topic to help others and that’s who he really is.  His life will represent help, knowledge and open doors of communication about this problem and will hopefully save many lives, families and children from heartache.  I am honored to call him my brother &amp; to see that through all this personal pain his concern was to teach others one day &amp; help with the sacrifice of his story &amp; true life story of such a hard journey through the real problem.   We had a great childhood, many memories, inside jokes, brother stories and always departed from each other with an I Love you and a hug.   Alex was a gentle giant with a heart of gold &amp; always ment well.   I didn’t release this info right away for my class reunion was taking place this week and I know my brother wanted to help with it &amp; would not want to make any vibe sad because of him, so I waited &amp; stayed strong not to mention it till now.   As a family we actually don’t want to ask for any help but we need it for once we are taking a knee and letting it be known we need help.   Alex did not have anything saved or insurance for this and it’s unexpectedness leaves us in a place where we do need help for funeral cost but most importantly for his two Daughters. <p>Everyone's favorite bartender and friend, James Gibble, has recently been diagnosed with lung cancer. Each and every one of us has had an encounter with James, big or small. He has the biggest heart and would do anything for anyone in a drop of a dime, always with a smile. This community comes together for so many great things, and now it's time to help one of our own.

We need your help.  My cousin  Matt Plowman,  had a brian aneurysm last week and has been in and out of surgery all week. He has a 50/50 chance of surviving this horrible ordeal.  Please help his family  (wife Miwa and their 3 kids) with medical expenses that are being incurred as well as help with the monthly bills that are coming in. He was in the ICU and monitored in the hospital for two weeks. <strong>Tony had to heal through 50 stitches down his spine and from his upper right quadrant of his back</strong> running along his right side along his ribs downward towards the outer abdomen. <br /><br />After being discharged from the hospital, Tony had to wear an upper body brace, that completely covered his upper torso for 5 years, until his 2nd surgery. <br /><br /><strong>In 1997, at the age of 10 he had a second major surgery that involved additional instrumentation fusion.</strong> Hospitalization lasted for about 2 weeks and several weeks of recovery.<br /><br /><strong>Fast forward to adulthood, Tony has been suffering the following diagnoses:</strong><br />-Chronic back pain and abdominal pain<br />-Degenerative Disc Disease<br />-Stenosis<br />-Pseudarthrosis<br />-Coronal Imbalance<br />-Sagittal Imbalance<br />-Neurofibromatosis<br />-Flat Back Syndrome<br />-Kyphosis<br />-Spondylolisthesis<br /><br />In 2015, Tony spent roughly 3 months bedridden due to excruciating pain with several visits to the Emergency Room at York Hospital and Memorial Hospital. His doctors prescribed him a slew of different pain management medications but none provided any relief. <strong>He finally found partial relief when he was prescribed a nerve block from Hershey Medical Center.</strong><br /><br /><strong>The hospitals Tony has been through over the years for his spinal deformity include:</strong><br />-York Hospital<br />-Children's Hospital of Philadelphia<br />-Hershey Medical Center<br />-OSS Health<br />-Memorial Hospital<br />-NewYork-Presbyterian The Allen Hospital<br /><br /><strong>The underlying theme for Tony's complex deformity was the doctors from previous hospitals did not have the capacity to provide the help he needs.</strong><br /><br /><strong>But there was hope</strong><br />It wasn't until Dr. Vagmin Vora (Hershey Medical) highly recommended us to do whatever it takes to start Tony's journey with Dr. Lawrence Lenke. Tony's Major Scoliosis Surgeries

An elite all-volunteer team of former RECON Marines, Navy SEALs, Navy Rescue Swimmers, and high-level Law Enforcement from around the nation are assembling to report and assist Texas state and local Law Enforcement in the Search and Rescue in Houston and surrounding areas. Local Law Enforcement units are worn out, many valiantly still reporting to duty without homes, several have already drowned trying to go past the point of exhaustion. Houston Search and Rescue Team

With the tragic passing of our dear friend Shanea's daughter, Alyssa, as a single mother, with still another young daughter at home, she will need all the financial help she can get, since she is self employed. <br />Many have asked, "What can I do to help?" <br />This is a start, let's help take the financial burden off of Shanea for a moment so she can grieve for her daughter without worry...
