Our dear friend, mother, daughter, and sister, Linda Lorick of York, Pennsylvania, is facing the fight of her life. At only 33 years old, she has already endured more than most of us can imagine - multiple rounds of chemotherapy, a stem cell transplant, remission, cancer relapse, and countless other setbacks in her battle against stage IIIB classical Hodgkin lymphoma.
Now, doctors at Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center have determined that Linda’s best chance at survival is a bone marrow transplant. To receive this treatment, she must live within an hour of the hospital in Baltimore, Maryland and have 24/7 nursing care after her transplant. Unfortunately, this type of post-transplant care is not covered by insurance.
Thankfully, a generous family in Southern York County has opened their home to Linda and her teenage sons, offering them a safe place to stay. With the help of a few kindhearted tradesmen donating their time and resources, the family is finishing a basement bedroom and bathroom to give them a comfortable space while Linda prepares for her transplant and awaits a donor match. However, the greatest challenge still lies ahead - securing housing closer to Baltimore and covering the cost of the 24/7 professional caregiving Linda will need once she is discharged from the hospital.
We are asking for your help to raise $20,000 to cover the nursing care and living expenses that will make this lifesaving transplant possible.
Linda’s story is not just about illness - it’s about hope, perseverance, and redemption. For the past two and a half years, she has completely turned her life around. She is sober, worked full time, managed her recovery house, has given back to her recovery community, and - most importantly - became the mother that her two teenage sons desperately need.
She has fought to reclaim her life, and now she is fighting to keep it. With your support, we can give Linda the chance to beat this disease and continue the incredible path of recovery and service she has already begun.
Every donation, no matter the size, will help us get closer to giving Linda this second chance at life. If you can’t give financially, please share this campaign and keep Linda and her boys in your prayers.
From the bottom of our hearts - THANK YOU for standing with Linda in this fight.
