- My name is Garield Mark, and I am creating this fundraiser for myself during a very difficult time. I was diagnosed with prostate cancer and PML on April 15, 2007. I am disabled and rely on Medicare, and I live on SSDI income. The financial strain has become overwhelming. Right now, I am facing personal property taxes in Alexandria, Virginia, and I also need help renewing my car tags. These basic expenses may seem small to some, but for me they have become major obstacles while I am trying to focus on my health and keep going through treatment. The funds from this fundraiser will help me pay my personal property taxes and renew my car tags so I can continue getting to my appointments at the Inova Fairfax Cancer Center. Having reliable transportation is very important for my cancer care, and I am asking for support so I do not fall further behind while dealing with illness and disability. I have been living with PML since April 15, 2007, and now I am also facing prostate cancer. Trying to manage two serious health conditions has made everyday life overwhelming, and on top of that, my personal property taxes and car tags are due soon. Right now, I simply do not have the income to cover these urgent expenses. I am asking for help so I can pay my personal property taxes and car tags while I focus on my health and getting through each day. Living on SSDI leaves very little room for unexpected or seasonal bills, and this deadline is adding even more stress during an already hard season of my life.
