<div>Friends, Family, and Kind-hearted Strangers,
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I'm coming to you with a heavy heart and a plea for support for someone very dear to me.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Linda Logan is a loving mother of two amazing children, she has spent the last 7 years volunteering for and then leading her (and my) daughters Girl Scout troop, she is a service unit volunteer and last week she was diagnosed with stage 4 terminal cancer and given an estimated time window of 6-12 months.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Linda is no stranger to fighting cancer as she has been fighting with her son against Angiocentric glioma for the last 7 years. As any parent can imagine the battle against her sons brain cancer has been an emotional roller coaster but she has taken every scan, appointment and treatment in stride with the kind of strength and determination that only a parent can understand. Now she needs us to support her like she has supported him.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As Linda embarks on this challenging journey, I want to rally around her and her family with love, support, and financial assistance. Medical bills, treatments, and daily living expenses can quickly become overwhelming, adding unnecessary stress to an already difficult situation. On Monday (4/8/2024) she thought she was going to miss a couple days of work to get her gallbladder removed but now we know she will be out much longer than that and as we all know bills won't wait and with her out of work it will all fall to her husband. Linda also wants to plan and pay for her funeral before she gets too sick to plan things so that her husband and children aren't left with that burden when the time comes.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Despite the immense weight of her diagnosis, Linda continues to radiate love and hope to those around her. She is a beacon of courage, facing each day with grace and determination. Her children, Wyatt and Addison, are her world, and she dreams of creating lasting memories with them for as long as she possibly can.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>With your generous contributions, we can help alleviate some of the financial burdens weighing on Linda and her family. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a difference in their lives. Let's come together as a community to lift them up during this incredibly challenging time.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Please consider donating and sharing. Your support, prayers, and well wishes mean more than words can express. Together, we can provide Linda with the comfort and peace of mind she deserves as she battles this unforgiving disease.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness, compassion, and generosity.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>4/16- Linda has been transfered! She was taken via ambulance to the redding airport, flown to SFO and then put on an ambulance to the hospital in SF. Today she will have her biopsy and endoscopy done and hopefully get some promising news from the better doctors.

<div>Update 4/17/2024: Linda was transported to Cal Pacific Van Ness in San Francisco where they did a biopsy and an endoscopy. She has a hell of a battle ahead of her BUT they downgraded her cancer diagnosis from stage 4 to stage 3. Her liver is clear and she has a plan. She will start chemotherapy immediately and if they can shrink the tumor enough, she could become a candidate for surgery!

<div><em>22 Veterans a day take their life. One is too many. </em>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As a US Army combat veteran, I almost became one of the many statistics you read about. 22 veterans per day commit suicide. One is too many. The performing arts saved my life and became the most powerful form of catharsis for me. To share this healing experience with my fellow veterans, I created the non-profit, LA based theatre company: <strong>Warriors For Peace Theatre</strong> (EIN# 84-2384729).
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We are currently raising money to keep our life changing programs for veterans going throughout the next year. We don't just help veterans, but have a mission to promote peace through the arts as well:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Mission Statement:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Driven by the core values of empowerment, diversity, tribe, trust, and resiliency, Warriors For Peace Theatre is a collaboration of veterans and civilians who believe in the healing effects of art. Our mission is to provide catharsis for those who have served and promote peace by way of the theatre. Our projects are designed to build bridges between communities, support disenfranchised groups, promote diversity, empower women, narrow the civil-military divide, and foster peace among nations. ALL CLASSES AND PROGRAMS ARE FREE FOR VETERANS!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>No donation is too small and 100% of all funds go towards teaching ongoing classes, community outreach projects, special programs and events to help veterans heal and promote peace through the arts. Unlike many other non-profits, we have done everything in our mission statement with proven results. See <a href="https://www.wfptheatre.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">www.WFPtheatre.com</a> to learn about our work and the impact it has had on veterans. Click on video below...

Help Veterans Heal Through The Arts!

<div>Hello! My warm-hearted, hilarious, and wonderful husband, Jon Nagel, was recently diagnosed with oropharyngeal cancer. The main tumor is in his throat, right at the base of his tongue, and has metastasized to the lymph nodes on the right side of his neck. Treatment will be chemotherapy and radiation. He won't be able to work for awhile, and although we have insurance, it doesn't cover everything (and of course there are co-pays). Jon is in good spirits-- "terrifine," he says. A combination of terrified and fine! This kind of cancer has a good prognosis, and we're going to give it everything we've got to get him through it and out the other side. With your help, we can keep a roof over his head, food in the kitchen, and pay the newly astronomical PG&amp;E bills. Thank you so much for considering contributing to this fund!
</div>
<div>With love,
</div>

<div>Hi, My name is Carolina and I am Ejay's girlfriend.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>PLEASE KEEP THIS A SECRET!!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you know Ejay, you know Roxi! &lt;3
</div>
<div>If you don't... Roxi is Ejay's best friend! His amazing and perfect service dog!
</div>
<div>Roxi came into Ejay's life June 5th, 2020 and nothing has been the same since. Roxi lights up his life, takes care of him when he is down. Hugs him and matches his energy in the most beautiful ways.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Just as much as Roxi is his service dog, Ejay is her service human.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>They take the term "A dog is a man's best friend" to a whole new level.
</div>
<div>Ejay and Roxi second every waking moment together, except when he has to take his motorcycle.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I know they say "absence makes the heart grow fonder" but these two are truly always better together.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Roxi has been a huge blessing for him and everyone who is lucky enough to know her love. She is the sweetest, funniest and most disciplined dog.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I am working on raising money to buy him a birthday gift that will allow him to have Roxi traveling with him more often. Ejay rides a motorcycle and I would like to buy him a K9 Moto Cockpit - MOTORCYCLE DOG CARRIER. its prices around $1700 not including the necessary attachments.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Ejay has been wanting this for a long time and I am so excited to put this into action!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This would mean so much to him and Roxi! Just imagine how cute they would both be riding that motorcycle together.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you love him... please donate.
</div>
<div>If you think he's funny... please donate.
</div>
<div>If you think he's smart.... please donate.
</div>
<div>If you think he's hot... please donate.
</div>
<div>If you love him... please donate.
</div>
<div>If you love Roxi... please donate.

<div><strong>Update 4/11/23</strong>
</div>
<div>Matt continues to make a strong recovery!! He's healing much faster than doctors are used to seeing. This is "THE WAY" for Matt, and always has been - he's holding true to his <strong>warrior nature</strong> and doing the hardest work right now, step by step.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>He's going to have another surgery soon to install the metal plate. Please send all your best intentions and healing vibes his way. He needs it - and together we have created a powerful net for him to do his work in - and he's doing it. Please send him encouraging words, thoughts, memories, and strength to keep moving forward. Healing is a painful journey for us all. And we need each other for it.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Matt has his phone back from time to time. Please don't be offended if he doesn't reach back out to you - and know he is getting your messages. He has limited time with his phone to avoid overstimulation - he needs to focus his energies on healing as much as possible right now - and he will see your words.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Please keep sharing this page as much as possible. And so, so much LOVE to all of you. </strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Update 3/23/23</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you for being patient with updates. There are many decisions currently being weighed for Matt's recovery: Where will he recover; who are the best providers to work with; what is the cost of medical in which country; when can he travel; <strong>how safe is Kyiv day to day</strong>; etc... There are many considerations underway.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>On the physical side, we're all so, so happy to report the following to you:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<ul>
<li><strong>Matt's Mother &amp; Father (Carmen &amp; Cezar Mateiescu) have been able to remain by Matt's side in Ukraine, and make better medical choices for him - because of the incredible support you have shown up with.</strong> We are all grateful Matt has this community. None of us want to imagine Matt or his family moving through this without you.
</li>
</ul>
<div><br />
</div>
<ul>
<li>Matt will need to remain in Ukraine (which is not the most ideal scenario for him) to wait for a specialized medical plate to be made, then surgically placed. This process may take up to 4 weeks from now. The cost is much less in Ukraine - in the United States this would run near to $60,000. Hence... some difficult decisions.
</li>
</ul>
<div><br />
</div>
<ul>
<li>Matt is speaking and has a HEALTHY sense of ironic humor. The ability to understand humor (especially with high-level irony) shows that Matt's brain, while seriously injured, is present and functioning at a high level. This is very comforting for all of us. None of us are ready to lose Matt's unique flavor of humor. He's always made the world a little brighter with it.
</li>
</ul>
<div><br />
</div>
<ul>
<li>For Matt's MMA community - he's been watching Muay Thai fights as he recovers and is hopeful training will be in the cards for him yet! Since Matt's been able to get up and walk - <strong>against what seems like all odds </strong>- at some point he may be able to return to the sport he loves. We hope so.
</li>
</ul>
<div><br />
</div>
<ul>
<li>Obviously we wanted to save the best for last... Until recently, Matt lost almost all motor function on the left side of his body. HOWEVER - <strong>being the renegade force that Matt is...</strong> he has <strong>not only </strong>begun moving his previously paralyzed left side - he has begun to WALK!!!!!!! We just recevied this news and are ecstatic to share it! In the meantime, Matt's being transferred to a rehabilitation unit for two weeks while he awaits specialized medical technology that will be surgically placed to protect soft tissue - it arrives in the next 2-3 weeks. It should not surprise us if the sheer amount of energy &amp; LOVE all of you produced, somehow through the cosmic fabric of this matrix we're in, FOUND ITS WAY DIRECTLY TO MATT'S DOOR. His family and friends are grateful for one another and for you.
</li>
</ul>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>FOR THOSE INTERESTED IN ACTIVATION</strong>
</div>
<div>A coalescence around fundraising is needed. Matt's family is facing critical &amp; difficult decision-making in the coming weeks to months. A small group of creatives (also Matt's close friends) have been brainstorming ways in which we can activate the creative community around <strong>(a) </strong>fundraising, <strong>(b)</strong> artistic pursuits that culminate in connection and expression which galvanize the world towards GOOD - <strong>something Matt desperately wanted and needed to be a part of. </strong>Which brings us full circle to why he was in the Ukraine to begin with - Humanitarian Aid. We can help Matt and his vision - and remind him that WE TOO want to see GOOD in this world. And in many ways, this begins with <strong>ART. </strong>If you're interested in becoming a small or large part of this art &amp; fundraising movement, please email: <a href="https://chicagobrandagency.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><em>[email redacted]</em></a>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>--------------------------------------------------------------------
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Our family and friends received very difficult news regarding Matt Saturday evening, March 4th. To say we were devastated is an understatement.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>For the last 12 months Matt has been tirelessly volunteering in the Ukraine - running medical &amp; food supplies to the front lines and to Ukrainian citizens in need. Now… Matt is in a Ukrainian hospital in critical condition himself. And needs our help.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Prior to assisting in Ukraine, Matt worked with Team Rubicon for many years. Volunteering to help people in disaster areas and documenting their stories to help spread awareness.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Matt has always tried to take care of who he can, when he can. He’s a talented musician, photographer, martial artist, and breakdancer who very much cares about doing good in the world and uses his skills to do just that. You can see more of Matt’s humanitarian and documentarian work at his <a href="https://www.instagram.com/mateiescu/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><strong><em>IG page</em></strong></a><strong><em>. </em></strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Matt’s parents are with him in the ICU. He was conscious Sunday however he is in bad shape. And the road to recovery will be expensive and likely long for him.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Matt’s friends have set up this GoFund me for his parents, to help with medical expenses, and to transport Matt back home to receive the care he needs amongst family.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>For many years now, Matt has used his skills to fundraise for, and help others in need. It’s he who needs support now.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Please share this page as much and as far as you can to help a human being who’s helped so many people for so many years.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>All donations will go directly to Matt’s Mother or immediate family of choice.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We love you Matt.

Medical Care for Matt Mateiescu

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the untimely and sudden passing of Joshua D. Brooks in a tragic apartment fire. This occurred just weeks before he planned to come home to witness his oldest son graduate from high school and see him off to basic training.<br /><br />Josh was the loving father of five amazing children, an adored son, brother, nephew, uncle and best friend. His family and friends are devastated by the unexpected and heartbreaking loss as Josh was just 40 years old.<br /><br />Most recently, Joshua was living in Colombia, South America and the funds raised will be used to assist the family with the unexpected costs related to bringing Joshua home and holding a funeral. <br /><br />For those who knew Josh, they knew he loved his family and friends fiercely. He had a charismatic personality that instantly drew people to him. Josh was a loyal friend and was always quick to help in any way he could. If you called him with a problem, he would easily have you laughing, forgetting about your troubles within minutes.<br /><br />Joshua was a talented artist and writer- recently finishing his first children’s book and hoping to get it published when he returned to the United States. He had a passion for travel, fitness, and cooking. Some even say he was the best “punkin” roll maker in history.<br /><br />Josh served our country selflessly and valiantly in the United States Army Special Forces and retired as a First Sergeant which he had attained within his first ten years of service. He received many awards and decorations including the Iraq Campaign Medal with Four Campaign Stars, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal , Army Achievement Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal just to name a few. Josh served in Korea, did several tours in Iraq and was stationed at Ft. Hood, Ft. Bliss and Fort Lewis.<br /><br />Contributions to the fund would be greatly appreciated but we also ask for your prayers for the family. If you do donate, please leave a message or memory you have of Josh. This will make the family smile as they read your kind words. Thank you so much for your support.<br />

Josh Brooks Memorial Fund

<p>Help Me Help Austyn Overcome the Higher Education Curse of the Middle Class<br /><br />I don’t have kids of my own, so I’m trying to help a young person I know go to college. Austyn is a player and captain on the Alhambra High Lacrosse team, someone who is a great athlete and an even better person. She is soon going to graduate with a 4.1 GPA, and plans to go to college in the fall. But there’s the problem. She suffers from what I call <strong>the higher education curse of the middle class</strong>. As you know, if your family has lots of resources, paying for college is no problem. If your family has few resources but you have the grades, schools will pay for you to attend. But if your family has a middle class income, you often fall into that gray area where you have to shoulder most, if not all, of the costs of attending college, even though you may not have a lot of resources. That means you may get a few grants or scholarships, and either your family goes into hock paying the rest up front, or you as a student, graduate college with a large amount of school debt to pay off. (Obviously, that’s one of the biggest issues our nation faces right now: a huge collective pile of college loan debt.)
</p>

<p>That’s where my player, Austyn, finds herself. She was accepted by and plans this fall to attend my alma mater, San Diego State University, with an eye toward becoming a physical therapist or a physician’s assistant. But because of her family’s financial status, she doesn’t qualify for any federal or state grants, so she has to pay the $30,000 per year (crazy, right?!?) to live on campus and attend SDSU herself. (Thankfully, it wasn’t anything like that when I was there, or I never would have graduated - or I would have with debilitating debt.)
</p>

<p>Here’s a little more about Austyn. Not only did she play four years on Alhambra’s lacrosse team, she has always been an active member in our community and a well-rounded student. She has maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout high school and taken numerous AP classes. Austyn’s other activities include playing clarinet in Alhambra’s marching band, playing varsity and club soccer, and she serves as Vice President of the school’s National Honor Society, and social media correspondent for the UNICEF Club and Key Club.
</p>

<p>Austyn lives at home with her mother and stepfather who are unfortunately unable to cover the costs of college. Austyn’s mother raised her and her two older brothers as a single mom, with no familial support, for the majority of Austyn’s life. Her father lives in Texas and has health issues mainly stemming from cancer which have him on a fixed income. If they were able, her parents and stepfather would gladly cover the full cost of school.
</p>

<p>Austyn is working to lower the costs of college by applying to more than a dozen local, regional and national scholarships (and she is applying for more). She also works as a soccer coach for players from 4 to 18 years old.
</p>

<p>Now, you might ask, well, why doesn’t Austyn just go to junior college for a couple years to save money? That’s indeed a possible course of action. But she wants to have the full college experience, and I support that. There’s nothing like living on campus and fully immersing yourself in college life. I always say half of what you learn in college is about becoming an adult, managing your time without your parents looking over your shoulder, getting all your errands and chores done, while also tending to your studies and pulling great grades. That’s all much harder to do/learn when you live at home with your family while going to JC.
</p>

<p>So, I‘ve created this GoFundMe to help Austyn pay for college. I’ve already committed to personally supporting her education, but I need a lot of help from my friends. I don’t want her to graduate from school with $80,000+ worth of debt, so I want to raise enough money to cover as much of her education as possible.
</p>

<p>I know this is asking a lot, but I want to raise at least $25,000 to cover just over 20% of the cost of four years at San Diego State. If we can get 500 people to give $50, that gets us there. Together, we can help ensure that Austyn graduates with no huge loans to pay off. The more people who see this, the better, so please pass it on.
</p>

<p>For me, this is about helping a young person I have worked with for four years, who I know will do big things in life, but who will face significant challenges coming out of school without some major help along the way. What do you say? Let’s make Austyn’s dream of a great college education - without a lot of debt - a reality. Thanks for any help you can give.
</p>

<p><strong>What your money will pay for:</strong><br />$8,136 = SDSU Tuition<br />$19,330 = Dorm room and food<br />$1,113 = Transportation<br />$1,091 = Books and supplies<br />$1,814 = Miscellaneous costs<br />A breakdown of SDSU expenses can be found at: <a href="https://admissions.sdsu.edu/about_sdsu/costs_of_attendance" target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://admissions.sdsu.edu/about_sdsu/costs_of_attendance</a><br /><br />* Students are required to live on-campus their first two years and meal plans are included.

I want to tell you about Derion Loman. People that know Derion know he is an artist whose passions lie in dance and human connection.  Derion’s friends, myself included, would all agree that he is patient, supportive, warm and hopeful.  He loves the challenge of learning new skills and growing daily. That is why he decided to pursue dance as a career at the age of 19. Now, 11 years later, he has had one of the most exciting dance careers he could ask for. The loving community and connections he has been introduced to have been some of the best the art world has to offer. From there, he has broadened his horizons to include colorguard, Cyr wheel, roller skating, flow arts, stunt work, and puppeteering. <br /><br />His journey has been fueled by the pursuit of these creative endeavors. They have been the catalysts for his constant growth and transformation as an artist. Particularly during this unprecedented, seemingly never-ending, time of uncertainty.  Derion says the most unexpected and rewarding gift has been seeing how he has inspired people. His journey has given others the hope to pursue and accomplish their own goals. That gift is priceless.  Unfortunately, he recently suffered a blow that made him temporarily lose one of the things he has always held onto. His unwavering spirit of hope for the future. <br /><br /><strong>Derion</strong> “I was heading to my car in the evening and froze with shock. I sat staring in disbelief at the empty spot where my car had been less than 2 hours before. <strong>My car had been stolen.</strong> First and foremost, I am safe and incredibly thankful it took place while I was away from my vehicle. I immediately called the police. There was no answer. I called 7 more times over the next 45 minutes and never got through. I took the next steps and went to file a claim with my insurance. However, I was beyond shocked to find out my insurance doesn’t cover theft, nor the property inside the vehicle! My heart sank. It felt like a bowling ball was inside my chest. My car was fully paid off and inside were most of my dance clothes, my Cyr wheel and my roller skates. I was completely devastated. In an instant, everything that had lifted me up in quarantine and helped me bring joy to others was just…gone. I called the police again, and finally got through. At the end of filing the report, I was sent off with a “good luck...” delivered more-so in the tone of “fat chance.” I could feel the sadness, rage and hurt building in me. I began to weep. I have worked incredibly hard for everything I have and I’ve fought through many rejections and disappointments to emerge stronger on the other side, with sights set on an even bigger dream. I know many people have probably done the same for themselves. I expect people can identify with the level of devastation I am feeling. For the first time in a very long time, I felt hopeless. I felt stuck in a place of deep hurt and anguish. It has been a very difficult adjustment to this new reality. I am lucky to have an incredible group of friends who were there to help lift me up. Friends who reminded me that I belong to several loving communities. Communities that bring with them the strength and hope of many.<strong> It is my hope that I can call on my community of dancers, circus artists, skaters, artists, art-lovers, friends, family, and strangers who just want to help out of the kindness of their heart.”</strong><br /><br />We want to help our friend to be able to continue his<strong> artwork. Our goal</strong> is to<strong> raise enough money to replace as much of his stolen property as possible</strong>. If we reach our initial goal of replacing his <strong>Cyr wheel and roller skates,</strong> we hope to raise enough to help him get started towards replacing his vehicle as well.  We know how difficult things are for many people out there. All donations will be sent directly to Derion. Any contribution is welcome and greatly appreciated.<br /><br />Go Fund Me asks us to talk about who I am so you know who is posting the campaign. My name is pH and I live in Hollywood a few blocks from Derion. I am one of many who wanted to  do anything possible to help him get through this tough spot. I had done a Go Fund Me campaign before to help raise money for a memorial to my best friend Lee, so I offered to help put this together.

Help Derion recover stolen creative tools and car

<p>Hi everyone!

</p>

<p><br />Recently I had a bit of a surprise. The unemployment money I was depending on suddenly <br />was revoked and I’m in a pickle. I’ve applied to jobs locally and that process will come to fruition likely in a few weeks as it takes time for them to process the application and to get the first paycheck to me. In the mean time I’m asking for support from anyone who feels called to help me in this way to get through this crunchy time so I can pay my rent and not loose my home.

</p>

<p>I look forward to having solid ground under my feet so I can continue to create awesome things and experiences for others. Thank you so much for any support you can offer, whether thats in the form of money or prayers.

</p>

<p><br />Much Love!  Rose

A Helping Hand for Rose

If you knew Michael then you know he was one of a kind and a beautiful soul. Michael was an inspiration to all of us with his big heart and being confident marching to his own drum. He made everyone he came in contact with laugh and feel good about themselves and he impacted everyone’s lives in the most positive way. On Monday January 11 Michael lost his battle with the hardships life had given him after his time in the United States Marine Corps as he became one of the 22 veterans a day that take their lives. We are asking that you may help us with his grieving family and the financial hardships they face. As also to pay tribute to Michael and what a wonderful person he was. We will love and miss you forever, and may you always live on in the beautiful and endless memories you left us with.

Please donate and help Michael’s family

And of course, please come to our show!<br /><br />THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!<br /> <br /><strong>What is Warriors for Peace?</strong><br />Founded by Iraq War Veteran Christopher Loverro, Warriors For Peace Theatre (WFP) is a collaboration of US military veterans and civilians who believe in the healing effects of art. Our company provides catharsis for those who have served, and provides healing through the theatre. <br /><br />Our projects are designed to build bridges between communities, support disenfranchised groups, promote ethnic diversity, empower women, shrink the civil-military divide, and foster peace among nations.<br /> <br />WFP has a simple philosophy: Who better to promote peace than those who have seen the face of war? We believe art transcends politics and brings people together. WFP provides veteran artists a venue to use their craft to have a positive impact on the world around them and the communities they live in.<br /> <br />Our calendar year consists of free Shakespeare workshops for veterans, showcases to empower women, community outreach projects, and theatrical productions. Although we have produced all of these types of events already, we are seeking funds to continue this work as a 501(c)3 and produce our debut theatrical performance ofJulius Caesar on November 30th, 2019. Our work will not be possible without your support.<br /> <br /><strong>Why Julius Caesar as your first large production? What makes this show so important or special?</strong> <br /> <br />Our nation has been at war for nearly 20 consecutive years. In this production, we have cast military veterans, who have actually lived through and survived the horrors of war. They will bring a certain authenticity to their roles seldom seen in this production. <br /> <br />Additionally, we’re placing Julius Caesar in a modern war setting, making it more relevant for a contemporary audience. <br /> <br />Our production of Julius Caesar is a collaboration of civilians and veterans, highlighting our mission to close the military-civilian divide, using art to heal and bring people together. Veterans collaborating with civilians is a critical component of the re-integration process for when men and women return from service. <br /> <br />Our production will have a very diverse cast, which reflects the military and modern society in a way that is seldom seen. Additionally, we’re gender bending some of the leading roles at a time where there is a huge push for more female leading roles. Our production provides these previously unavailable opportunities for women and other actors with less representation in the industry.
</p>

<p>Over the next near<strong> Warriors For Peace Theatre will be partnering with organizations addressing suicide and homelessness within the veterans community. Ten percent of ticket sales</strong> from our upcoming production of Julius Caesar will be donated to The Midnight Mission and The Giving Angels: non-profit organizations providing food, shelter, and other services for the <br />homeless.

What’s its past, and where is its future?<br /><br /></strong>WFP is not just a good idea. We have a history of successes to point to that shows how powerful the collaboration is when civilians and veterans come together to help our war fighters heal, empower people, and promote peace through building bridges—all done through the arts. Here are some examples of our work this past year:<br /> <br />1. THE WOMEN OF SHAKESPEARE:<br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/42690400_1571011096563904_r.jpeg" alt="42690400_1571011096563904_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /><br /><br />In the last year WFP put on two productions to showcase the talent of women and let the world see the solidarity, strength, and beauty of women coming together to express their power through the words of Shakespeare. Directed by women, this all female cast was a collaboration of veterans and civilians. Due to the huge success of these previous shows, we plan on staging another all female production later this year and include veteran stories into the theme of Shakespeare's works.<br /> <br />"Warriors for Peace is a nascent organization founded by veterans to help ease the cultural heady, religious, nationalistic, sexist tensions in our country and by extension the rest of the world. The Women of Shakespeare event...was a major first step to accomplish that agenda. Using the universal themes of humanity that flourish in Shakespeare, the ensemble made up of female vets and non-vets hit just the right note of togetherness and compassion that leads to understanding. I have rarely seen Shakespeare performed so well." —Armin Shimerman, Board of Advisors <br /><br /><a href="https://vimeo.com/311023080">Click here for testimonial by Army Veteran Y'dhanna Daniels</a> <br /> <br />2. Held at the IMAN center in LA, veterans and community members of the Muslim faith spent a day learning Shakespeare and dance.<br /><br /><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N64i7BfJ-0c&amp;t=9s">Click here to see our Muslim Outreach Video</a> <br /> <br />3. Based on historical events, this powerful piece depicts More's attempt to find the humanity in people and is a plea for us to see each other as brothers and sisters and not the "other:" Part of the PSA was spoken in eleven languages and was a collaboration of veteran and civilians.<br /><br /><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=InPpLI-L_Y4&amp;t=49s">Click here to see our PSA about tolerance</a> <br /> <br />4.
