Our dear friends Teresa and Paul Lowe, along with their son Jonathan, have suffered the unthinkable....their beloved daughter and sister, Auriel, was recently and tragically murdered. We are calling on their veteran, entertainment, and church communities to please help this special family during this painful time.
Auriel was a nurse whose calling was to save lives. She had just begun her dream job in nurse anesthesiology at Duke University Hospital—a path she worked tirelessly to achieve. She was kind, brilliant, full of promise, and deeply loved by her family, friends, and colleagues. If she wasn’t at work, she was at church or finding ways to care for others.
The circumstances of her death are devastating and unfathomable to the Lowe family.
As Teresa shared through her tears: “She was in ICU during her residency for two and half years, and she had just literally gotten promoted into her career path in the operating room to move towards her nurse anesthesiology.”
Paul explained his pain: “We’re just shattered here as a family and her friends, and, I mean, she’s my baby, and it just … it just hurts.”
Teresa and Paul are determined that Auriel’s story will not end in tragedy alone. They want her memory to inspire change—so that dating apps are safer and no other family must endure such a loss. But first, they must find the strength to get through the heavy days ahead. We are setting up this GoFundMe so our cherished friends don’t have to carry the full financial burden on top of their overwhelming grief.
