<div>Four weeks ago, Rachel and Garrett welcomed their daughter, Sylvie, into the world via C-section and began the journey of recovery and new motherhood. She was doing everything she could to heal and adjust—but yesterday, April 11th, everything changed in an instant.

<div><strong>Without warning, Rachel's surgical incision ruptured, leading to a life-threatening emergency where her intestines became exposed, resulting in immediate emergency surgery.</strong> She is now facing a prolonged hospital stay and a full restart to her postpartum recovery process.

<div>As an ICU nurse, Rachel is used to being the one who shows up for others in their hardest moments. She expressed the recent events felt incredibly humbling as she now finds herself in a position where she actually needs to ask for help.

<div>Because of this unexpected complication, Rachel has exhausted her PTO and does not have the financial cushion to cover the additional time off, mounting medical expenses, and provide basic living needs as she recovers and cares for Sylvie.

Support Stephen Darwin's Fight With Cancer

<div>We filmed a movie! And we lived to tell the tale. Over the summer, we filmed for 5 weeks on our feature film <em>Videovore</em>. We captured some amazing footage, and it’s all thanks to our incredible cast and crew, and our amazing supportive community–YOU! It was an ambitious shoot, and the resulting film is nothing short of a miracle. We can’t wait for you to see it!

<div>Right now, we’re in the post-production phase, editing the film and moving closer to the day when we can premiere it to the world. But filmmaking is a marathon, not a sprint. There are still several more steps along the way before it is ready. Once we have a final cut that we’re happy with, we’ll do the sound mixing, color grading, visual effects, and music. It’s a lot, but we knew what we were signing up for when we began this journey.

<div>We’ve had several people reach out since production to let us know that they missed out on the opportunity to contribute to the project during our initial GoFundMe phase. Back in May, we were able to raise over $10K to help pay for catering, crafty, etc. to help fuel our incredible team during production. That was HUGE, and we’re so grateful for the support.

<div>Making this film is going to be a BLAST! And we cannot wait to share it with you once it is done. We've assembled an incredible team of storytellers and craftspeople—the <strong>very best</strong> in the business. Support Videovore: An Alabama-based Indie Feature Film

<div>I am beyond devastated and heartbroken to share that <strong>Sundae has started showing signs of losing the battle with cancer.</strong> I took her to the vet because she developed a cough, and I really thought it was going to be something minor like allergies or even kennel cough. I didn't think it would be related to cancer because she appeared to be doing so well, but unfortunately, her x-rays showed her chest is full of tumors to the point her doctor is giving her only a few weeks to live. She has been fighting this horrible disease for 2 years, and has put up an incredible fight and is still fighting. <strong>This GoFundMe is to ensure when it's her time to leave this earth, I can give her a beautiful memorial as well as providing quality end-of-life care.</strong> Sundae is my baby, my heart, my world, the center of my existence, and I want to make sure during this time and after this time I can properly honor her. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
