<div>About 2 months ago Rochelle had been feeling extremely unwell with chest pain and shortness of breath. She went to a GP who sent her to hospital via ambulance due to how unwell she was. This is where she spent the next 4 weeks, and after multiple invasive and painful tests was diagnosed with an extremely rare form of Leukemia, T-Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

<div>(T-ALL) as well as having a large mass in her chest and evidence of cancer in some lymph nodes. Chemo treatment began immediately and the last 2 months have seen Rochelle having to deal with infections, blood transfusions, fevers, low blood counts as well as the physical and emotional toll the chemo is having on her body. Not to mention the shock of receiving such devastating news.

<div>Rochelle is a single mum to a beautiful 16 year old daughter Eliza and to her angel son Jarvis. Jarvis sadly passed away in 2011 at the age of 7 after a gruelling battle with Neuroblastoma. Jarvis was an absolute delight and he was the most courageous and inspirational boy.

<div>This has been an extremely difficult time for Rochelle and her beautiful daughter Eliza, as well as for her mum and brother.

<div>Rochelle had been working as a nanny and a carer and gives of herself over and above of what is expected. She is selfless and is loved and adored by so many people.

<div>Rochelle needs our help financially at this time as there is no income coming in. It’s my hearts desire to see her not lose her home and to be able to pay her mortgage, ongoing bills, expenses for Eliza and to give her and Eliza some stability thru such a difficult time.

<div>On the 25th of June a white Nissan Navara utility collided with a blue Ford Falcon station wagon at the intersection of Hale Road and Tonkin Highway shortly after 10pm on Wednesday.

<div>The driver was evading police and sadly the car being driven by Junbo Shim was hit and Junbo died at the scene. He had not been in Australia long, but had quickly taken to our Aussie culture, becoming one of our Fifo workers and loving his new adventure.
</div>

<div>Junbo is from South Korea and instead of his family coming here to Perth to celebrate his new life, they are instead taking their son home to lay him to rest.
</div>

<div>I have met with the family and have told them that we as a community want to celebrate their son, that he will not be remembered as a road statistic and that we hope out love and compassion will help them as they deal with this devastating loss.
</div>

<div>The main fundraising revenue was going to be collected by cashing in cans, however people have asked if I would create a Go Fund Me as well so they can contribute financially. The money will be used by the family to pay costs associated with their travel as well as funeral costs for their son.

Cailee was a light upon this earth and loving wife to Haydn, beautiful daughter to Odette and Mark, a sister of Ryan and Michael and aunty, and mother to 3 gorgeous children - River, Oceane and little Jasper, who was still breast feeding from his mamma before she passed. Her sudden passing has left an unimaginable void in the hearts of all who knew her.

<div>Zoe has been fighting leukaemia for just over 12 months. She was diagnosed on Mother’s Day 2022.

<div>She had a donor stem cell transplant in August 2022 amazingly her brother was a perfect match as a donor! Unfortunately the transplant was unsuccessful due to her having chromosomes that overrode the new stem cells and Zoe relapsed in January 2023 and was told that no further chemotherapy could be given.

<div>Then she had good news that she was eligible for a special medical trial drug late January 2023.
</div>

<div>Only 2 people in Western Australia qualified and 361 patients globally. This opportunity was exciting for us all, and it helped to put her back in remission but this trial drug wasn't a long term treatment or a cure..
</div>
<div>was merely just giving her time.

<div>The ONLY long term cure for her type of leukaemia is a successful stem cell transplant…
</div>

<div>With much deliberation from her medical team (which included 40 professionals) mid May 2023 they finally decided Zoe was well enough to undertake a second stem cell transplant which is extremely uncommon and extremely risky.
</div>

<div> Zoe didn’t hesitate at the opportunity!!!! And said yes, i’m in!!!!
</div>
<div>Zoe was told there was a 25% chance of being permanently cured
</div>

<div>Sadly, she relapsed right after the decision was made. Zoe built a resistance to the trial drug and there for it stopped working. Now the leukaemia is back and is aggressive.

<div>This means she is no longer eligible for the second transplant. And she has been taken off all her medications. A huge devastation for Zoe.
</div>

<div>2 weeks ago, she was hit with the news she only has (weeks) to live.

<div>In what was meant to be a blissful time down south with her family, has quickly changed and their reality has been flipped on it’s head.

<div>The Grainger’s have been inundated with messages of love and offerings of help- however with their home base being in Newman there are a number of  logistical challenges. We have set up this go fund me to provide support for the ongoing costs of Kate’s accomodation, flights, meals and care as she goes through her vigorous treatment in the coming months.

Cost of funeral and on going Care for the children

Ben Reilly... literally one of the BEST guys around!<br /><br />For those who don't have the privilege of knowing him, he's a loving husband to Emma (going strong for 16 years!) and brilliant father to three boys Van (12), Cole (10) and Dash (8). He's an amazing son, brother, uncle and friend who has so much love to give that he's also been a foster carer for the last two years. Ben worked as a teacher and year coordinator in a high school, working hard to bring out the best in young people, until recently... <br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/46300596_1584664118466531_r.jpeg" alt="46300596_1584664118466531_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /><br /><br />For months Ben had been having trouble with his tongue and speech, along with a slanted lip. His GP tried ruling out a stroke or allergy and thought he most likely had Bells Palsy. Five months later Ben went in to Fiona Stanley Hospital, was admitted to the Neurology ward, went through a mammoth amount of tests and then on Friday 7 February 2020, the news was given that Ben had MND (Motor Neurone Disease), which completely turned the whole world upside-down for Ben, Emma and extended family &amp; friends.<br /><br />At the moment Ben has Classical ALS Bulbar MND which is affecting his speech, eating and swallowing, for a teacher this is a huge issue as communication is a major part of his job. This has now impacted Ben in his inability to maintain his teaching role which was his livelihood and supported his family. He is currently on sick leave and then long service leave which will provide regular income until July. He has his final farewall at work next week which will be very hard. Emma has begun looking for work but there is a balance of needing to be available to support Ben with appointments and being 'his voice' as his speech has progressively become worse. Ben is unable to communicate clearly and finds it extremely exhausting to talk. He is having to use his phone to write for communicating and has tried some text to speech apps. <br /><br />Ben is losing strength in his arms and hands which is making it difficult to do household chores, driving, buttoning up pants &amp; shirts and even typing messages is getting harder. The next step may be to look into alternative solutions for communicating such as a device called a Neuronode, but they are very expensive, possibly $10,000 - $17,000. Ben's sleep has been impacted as he struggles to breathe at night, he is already propped up but needs a vpap machine to help, we are waiting on this. Ben &amp; Emma are also looking at a specially trained assistance dog for Ben, not funded by NDIS, to provide companionship and support for the future. <br /><br />We are currently waiting on genetic testing to find out what clinical trial treatments might be available to Ben. He had an Aunty who sadly passed away from MND several years ago, but there was no awareness of a genetic link then. Ben is currently taking Riluzole which is the only approved drug to slow progression of deterioration by 5-10%. Due to COVID-19 there has been a delay in getting the results. <br /><br />Ben &amp; Emma have been advised by their Neurologist to prepare for the future and enjoy life with family as much as they can whilst Ben is still able. One of the big focal points right now is Ben's quality of life and being able to make many beautiful moments with his family happen. <br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/46300596_1584664140390363_r.jpeg" alt="46300596_1584664140390363_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /><br /><br />Practically, there are plenty of costs involved when a diagnosis of MND is given;  loss of income, medical expenses, travel for treatment, obtaining passports should the need for rapid international travel arise, suitable accommodation to suit Ben's needs and general living expenses. Ben &amp; Emma do not own their own home, this is an important consideration for them as things progress, with the potential need for a home to be fitted out to support specific disability requirements. Ben has been approved for NDIS which will provide some extra support soon.<br /><br />The boys are going okay, having up's and down's, sad about dad at times and they can see his struggle when he tries to talk with them. Ben &amp; Emma's hearts break that Ben can't help them with homework or read them a book at bedtime. <br /><br />Through it all, Ben has remained his positive self, making us laugh through his difficulties. He posts videos on Facebook about his struggles and raises awareness for MND. We don't know what the future holds but we, along with Ben &amp; Emma, are holding onto hope that there is a clinical trial available to Ben to extend his life by stopping the progression of this disease. Ben Reilly & family MND fund

On Sunday, 15th of November 2020, the close knit Pelusey family was shattered by the sudden loss of two family members, Matriarch Denise and toddler Zeak.<br /><br />Patriarch Kim Pelusey has lost his soul mate and wife of 38 years in Denise. Together Kim and Denise have five wonderful children, Caris, Taelor, Brogan, Makenzie and Braxton. They also have four grandchildren, including precious Zeak.<br /><br />The tragic car accident happened in North Boyanup and left Denise’s daughter Brogan and her three young children with serious injuries and trauma. Brogan’s husband Andrew is off work to be by the side of their youngest son while he recovers from emergency surgery in Perth while Brogan and the older children recover in Bunbury.<br /><br />Young couple Makenzie and Josh have suffered the incomprehensible loss of both their beloved only child Zeak and Makenzie’s Mum. They will need the love and support of friends and family to survive this unthinkable tragedy.<br /><br />This beautiful South West family are valued and loved community members. They have difficult days, weeks and months ahead. If you can, please contribute to help support them with funeral expenses, ongoing medical care and any other financial needs. We can’t ease the loss they have experienced but we can try to ease the financial burden in their time of grief.

Pelusey Family Fund

<strong>My Uncle Ryan was recently diagnosed with cancer. His diagnosis was a rare synovial sarcoma. Only 1 in One Million people are diagnosed with this form of cancer per year.</strong><strong><br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/43737068_1575002387363873_r.jpeg" alt="43737068_1575002387363873_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /></strong><em>(I had to beg him to take this photo, he has avoided cameras since his treatment commenced).</em><br /> <br />Until his diagnosis, he was employed as a Heavy Lift Advanced Rigger in the Mining industry. He has worked on a contract basis within mining for over 9 years and he is a hard worker.  <br /><br />Ryan received the diagnosis in July and treatment started immediately. At this point, he had to stop working to undergo treatment. So far, he has completed 5 rounds Chemo and a full course of radiation therapy. The Doctors advice now is to complete another 2 doses (2 rounds over 6 weeks) of chemo. Taking him up til Christmas. They will then assess whether surgically removing the arm is required. This thought is terrifying to Ryan and our family, especially considering he is a manual worker and his role as a Rigger would be impossible after losing and arm.<br /><br />During his treatment, he has been incredibly unwell and unable to work or even watch his son. However, the need to pay bills and support his family has continued. He has a fiancé and a 2 year-old son; Ryder <br /><br />In the past 6 months, he has completely run out of his savings and the minute his treatment is completed he will have huge bills due (many have only been on hold for the treatment period), plus Christmas is coming up.<br /><br />We are hoping that anyone in the community that understands or has compassion for what Ryan and his family are going through and is in a position to help does. Every dollar would support him and his family during this difficult time.<br /><br />The cost of Ryan’s treatment is covered but there any many costs that he has to cover:<br /><br />·      Cost of living; mortgage, rates, gas, electricity, water, food, bills etc.<br />·      Transits to treatment<br />·      Medications whilst receiving treatment<br /> <br />Thank you for any support you can offer.

We have come together as a family and are still trying to process the enormous impact this will have on all our lives.<br /><br />Our family is still in a great amount of shock and our main priority is stabilising Matts Health and the lives of his precious family, Kirsty, Piper and Luna. Everyone’s support and love is so greatly appreciated.<br /><br />As we are, and we are sure everyone else will be in such disbelief and sadness, we ask that our privacy is kept in mind as we are still trying to work our way through our grief and shock. Help Matt Don and his family

Today is our dear friend Masons Birthday. He should be pool side with his family celebrating his 44th Birthday. Sadly he is sedated in Bali in ICU with acute pancreatitis. Although the family had travel insurance,  they will not cover his expenses as Mason has had a bout of this before... but never this serious. Earlier today he took a turn for the worse and had to be intubated as his breathing was compromised. He is currently stable. As we speak Tanya is getting quotes for Medivac to get Mason home.

Almost 3 weeks ago Ozzy and I went for our usual afternoon walk and 2 hours later he started bumping into things. It was then I looked into his eyes as I had done most days that week due to extra gunk and I cried to see that literally in 24 hours he had opal coloured cataracts on his pupils. <br />Ozzy is 8, he has travelled this country and me and him have had a rough couple of years. After much hurt and pain and then focus and motivation I am almost at the end of a Law degree. Ozzy and my parents have been my constant unconditional support. <br />It really pains me to ask for help but he has one good eye that can be operated on. On top of that the blindness was a consequence of diabetes and over night blindness is sadly quite common. <br />I must swallow my pride and all im asking is for help until I finish my degree which will be the end of next year. He has ongoing insulin and blood glucose every 10 days which is $115 ( a year is $2990). His surgery and after care could be up to almost $4000. <br />I am a hard worker and after the new year I will be going back to work as a chef or barrister but even that and the austudy I get ( which they unhelpfully cut off again right before christmas) as well as running my small business this is really going to stretch me. <br />If you cant give please support my small business as every extra cent I have goes to his care. Ozzy needs eye surgery #woof

The unexpected happen on the 7th November; I was diagnosed with Stage 3 HER2 positive breast cancer.  A lymph node biopsy followed where four lymph nodes were removed, the test results confirmed all four as malignant. Treatment at this stage consists of chemotherapy and targeted therapy (Herceptin) and an elective drug call Pertuzumeb (Perjeta) which is not covered by the Pharmaceutical Benefit Scheme.  Perjeta is an out of pocket expense of $17,000.
