<div>On March 28th, during that heavy late-season snowfall, Jayden made a tough call. She had just started her house-cleaning business this year, and with the roads looking dangerous, she chose not to risk the drive to Edmonton. Instead, determined not to lose a day's income, she bundled up and headed out to shovel driveways in her hometown.

<div>Her right knee suddenly gave out—bent backward with a sickening pop—and she collapsed in pain. Jayden, who’s always been strong and independent, brushed it off at first. She wore an old knee brace and tried to push through the weekend. But by the start of April, the pain had become unbearable.

<div>On April 10th, she finally got into physiotherapy and saw her doctor. 
</div>

<div><strong>The news was grim: a likely complete tear. </strong>
</div>

<div>But without an MRI, they can’t know for sure. And here’s where things get even harder—Jayden, at 23, is too old to be covered under her parents’ health plan. She has no private coverage of her own. Her doctor stressed the urgency—the sooner she gets the MRI, the better the outcome—but the public waitlist is months long. The only real option is to pay out of pocket.

<div>An MRI will cost between $700 and $1,000 depending on what the surgeon needs to see. If she can raise the funds, she could get in as early as April 15th—just days away.
</div>

<div>That MRI is just the beginning. Weekly physio is already needed, and it will continue until surgery is booked—$100 per visit. After surgery, she’ll need even more therapy to learn how to walk properly again. If she requires a full reconstruction, we’re looking at 4 to 6 weeks before she can even stand on her leg, and up to 9 weeks before she regains full mobility. In that time, she’ll need red light and PEMF therapy to promote healing—another $70/day. Those treatments are only available in Calgary, which means additional costs for travel, accommodations, and meals.

<div>She’ll also need a new specialized brace (cost unknown), and since she can’t drive, she’s had to pause her car insurance. Her only monthly bill now is her phone—$80. Her business is at a complete standstill.

<div><strong>Jayden has worked so hard</strong> to build something for herself. She didn’t ask for this injury, and now she’s facing a long, painful road—physically, emotionally, and financially. Any help will make a world of difference in giving her the chance to heal, rebuild, and get back to the life she’s worked so hard to create.

<div>As you all know Madison and Tristan’s home base is Kelowna BC. Because of Madison heart condition this was considered high risk pregnancy and she has had to travel back and forth to Vancouver to be monitored by specialists.
</div>

<div>On April 21st Madison went in for a basic routine ultrasound and they discovered an issue with Madisons cervix and Madison and Tristan were air lifted that night to Vancouver where she has been ever since. On Sunday May 7th Madison was having slight contractions and over the course of a few days she started to dilate. On May 10th she was rushed in for an emergency c-section and baby Hazel was born at 12:29pm weighing 2.5lbs at only 27 weeks gestation.

<div>As you can imagine this was a very scary, stressful but exciting time that happened so quickly and so unexpectedly.
</div>

<div>Hazel was transferred from St Paul’s hospital by ambulance with her dad Tristan by her side. Maddy remained at St Paul’s until she was released a few days later to join them.
</div>

<div>Considering the risks for both Madison and Hazel they are both doing very well and we are all so thankful for that. Being born 3 month premature baby Hazel will remain in hospital for quite some time.
</div>

<div>Their main focus is Hazel and they are doing an amazing job at handling every obstacle in their way despite being in another city so far from home and unable to work as they care for baby Hazel. I know that the stress and worry of finances is constantly on their mind and I would like to relieve some of that worry for them so they can just concentrate on healing and bringing Hazel back home.

Baby Hazel - 27 week micro preemie ❤️

<font color="#333333">My husband, Eric and I, have been in the process of adopting my nieces in the Philippines. These girls are bright and have so much potential. They were so excited to come to Canada.<br /><br />We were told that one of them, Mecha Ella (9 years old), had a UTI and a high fever. She got worse and needed to be admitted into the hospital.<br /><br />In the Philippines, there is <i>no</i> health care. So every swab, every test, every treatment costs money. <br /><br />A day of being in the hospital, they found out that what was most likely causing the fever was dengue fever. An illness from the bite of a mosquito. After several tests and x-rays, they also found pneumonia in her lungs, caused by covid. <br /><br />This little girls body is fighting so hard to stay alive, but her blood now has infection. We’ve been told that she needs to get IVIG treatment, where they pump her body with healthy blood, to combat the infection, as well as a plasma blood transfusion.<br /><br />She is 9.<br />She has a whole life to live yet.<br />She wants to feel the snow. <br />She’s worked hard to learn English.<br />She wants to live in a place of opportunity.<br />She wants to have us as her parents.<br />She wants to see her sister again.<br />She is critical. <br />And <b>needs help. </b><br /><br />Every treatment is $4500 CAD per DAY. We want to do everything we can to save her but we need your help. <b>We can’t to do this on our own. </b><br /><br />We are a family of 4 here in Canada, 2 natural born kids of our own and a dog. We were planning to grow our family into 6 with adopting these girls. <br /><br />If she had been here, most do the medical treatments would be covered by our incredible health care. (THANK YOU CANADA!!) <br /><br />Unfortunately, that is not the case.<br /><br />So please, anything you <i>can</i> do. No matter how big or small. Sharing, liking, donating. Help Save Mecha Ella’s life ♥️

Sam and Kim, owners of 9Round (Leduc) are two of the GREATEST advocates for our community. Since Covid-19 hit, they’ve poured out their time and generosity with grocery deliveries, running errands, and rallying our community to support local. When restaurants closed, Sam and Kim empowered many of us to rise up and order take out to help these businesses pay rent. When the service industry opened back up, they immediately bought and delivered lunches and coffee to spas and salons. Their thoughtfulness, kindness and servanthood has put many local business owners in tears of gratitude. They’ve truly been unsung heroes and we are so grateful to call them friends.<br /><br />Like many small businesses, 9Round has been forced to close their doors for the past 5 out of 9 months. They’ve done everything possible to continue to support local, but their financial reserve is dwindling quickly. Currently, their income is less than $2000/mos, however this is not enough to cover rent, never mind personal and other business expenses. In less than 30 days they will have nothing left. Sam and Kim have done their best to keep their overhead low so that they can support our community, but they, like most small businesses are running out of options.<br /> <br />We are asking our community to offer back the same love and support to Sam and Kim that they have so graciously given to all of us. <strong>Sweet Benny was diagnosed with a Wilms tumour April 24th.<br /></strong>They quickly removed the tumour with the kidney, spleen and some nodes.<br />this is going to be a long long haul, with 30 weeks of chemo and radiation.  Benny is only 5, but the strongest superhero in the world........and an army of support will make this 30 weeks a little more bearable.<br />Cory and Erica Thomas run a business that is going to need support to keep afloat as they will be spending a good portion of the next 30 weeks in the hospital with Benny.<br />All funds collected will go to helping the family of 6 (big sister, Maya, and baby twins) stay afloat and be there every step of the way with Benny.<br />Please consider helping if you are able.  If you are not able, please share all of your prayers and positive thoughts.<br />Love hard.  Play hard.  Spread kindness.

Family relief through Benny’s treatment

Hello Everyone,<br /><br />As many of you know by now Peter and Cassie have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of the new addition to their family.<br /><br />On March 6, 2016 Malachi arrived into this world yet there have been many complications. Malachi was born with the umbilical cord wrapped several times around his neck and was without oxygen for several minutes. He was worked on for an hour before they were able to find a pulse. His liver is not functioning properly, and is being drained by NG tube with blood coming out, which is a sign that its failing. He is intubated and sedated to keep him comfortable and to prevent movement with the breathing tube. He has brain wave monitors in his little head. Doctors have advised that if he recovers he will be forever handicapped. The main concern right now is brain activity, there is not currently detectable activity which is not a good thing at all. <br /><br />We have been seeing Gods hand continuously and we are believing for continued miracles. A HUGE miracle that the doctors will see, and full healing for Malachi.
