Makala is an extremely loved member of the Lexington, NC community. She owns her own fitness studio and helps so many people in the surrounding area.

On February 11, 2025, a deer went through Makala’s windshield and gave her a direct hit to the face. She rolled and totaled her SUV. She has incurred extensive injuries and is mounting extensive medical bills. Please show your love by providing support for her just as she has supported so many. Thank you in advance for your love and support. ❤️

Stand by Makala: Provide Support for Medical Bills

On the morning of July 26, 2023, Deputy Charles “Chuck” Doze’ and two of his coworkers, Deputy Samantha Burkhead and Deputy Christopher Schroeder, arrived at an apartment complex in the city of Tualatin located in Washington County, Oregon to serve civil paperwork. Instead of being greeted by the occupant, they were greeted with gunfire.

Deputy Doze’ was struck several times in his face, arms and chest. He sustained life-threatening and life-altering injuries. He was rescued as his co-workers returned fire and was rushed to a local trauma hospital. Deputy Doze’ is currently recovering in intensive care at a hospital in the Portland Metro area surrounded by his family, including his wife and children.

The proceeds of this account will be used to assist the Doze’ family through the long and difficult healing process. We are thankful Deputy Doze' is alive and want to do everything we can to support him and his family.

The inhumanity of human's can be unbearable.

Gi (translation: Brave) is one of those horrifying, heartbreaking cases that brings us to tears in rescue. Gi was discovered emaciated in South Korea with open wounds on his head and neck, and burns across his frail body. He trembled and cried in pain as well as out of fear of humans. They didn't think he would make it.

At 3 years old, Gi was advertised online for $50 with the caveat that the seller was not responsible for his health condition or survival. He would only need 1/2 cup a food per day and could be used for breeding. The seller had he and a female that he was trying to breed but the female died giving birth.

The couple that responded to the ad, found him outside tied up with wires around his neck and snout. When they took him home, he kept whimpering and trembling. They quickly realized he needed more help and contacted SCGRR's rescue partner who rushed him to the vet where they shaved him to get a better look. Clearly beaten and abused, Gi's skin revealed open wounds and severe burns. We can't confirm if it was a chemical burn or water burn, but they suspect it was hot water from either trying to boil him alive, or to give him a bath with scorching hot water. It's unimaginable.

Gi is making progress. With a kind hand and better care, he has started to wag his tail and accept affection from humans. Eye issues once thought allergies are now confirmed to be uveitis which will require preventive treatment and possibly surgery. His 3rd degree burn wounds and open sores are starting to heal with treatment. His hair is starting to regrow a bit. Gi still has a long way to go and will need more medical care when he arrives here.

We are excited to welcome Gi into the US this weekend. Knowing the vets in the United Sates can provide care unavailable in South Korea, we are anxious for his arrival. Gi's transportation is graciously covered by the Tracey and Anne Coats Foundation. We also have a very generous ANONYMOUS MATCHING DONOR for this GoFundMe to cover his care upon arrival in the United States. Every dollar donated to this campaign will be matched 100% up to $7,000.

We are totally dependent upon you, our friends, for help with all of the vet bills and rehabilitation. Your donations are always so very much appreciated so we can always be there for dogs like Gi - whether they've suffered domestic or international abuse.

Dog Tortured in South Korea gets second chance

Southern California Golden Retriever Rescue

Cruize is our 10 month old Golden Retriever. In the last 4 months he has undergone 3 major surgeries. It all started out with an obstruction in his intestines as he obsessivly tries to swallow things he shoudnt, but during the first operation the vet discovered a large & abnormal amount of adhesions that form in his intestines for an unknown reason.

Unfortunately the only way to save his life during the second surgery was to remove 14" of his intestines. We were asked twice during the 5 hour surgery if we wanted to put him to sleep but we wanted to give him the chance to fight. There is no clear diagnoses yet & are beyond words that he was able to survive.

The first hospital stay was a few thousand dollars which we had already paid but after 3 surgeries the total vet bill was over $15 000 (two of the bills are attached below). He has been on special food for a few months & that alone was $800.

Our amazing vet is allowing us to make payments on the balance, so any and all donations will help towards our vet bills & continue to try & get a clear diagnoses for Cruize.

Anyone that knows him knows he is a little ball of energy, love & never ending kisses.
He means the world to us xxx

Thank you all
Cruizes Mommies.

Have a look at our beautiful Baby Boy here:https://www.instagram.com/cruize_the_retriever/

Cruize's Medical Fund

This memorial fund is in loving memory of Cameron Marc Francis who tragically lost his life in a car accident on October 1, 2016.

We know that Marc and Rebecca Francis, Cam's parents, have many loving family members and friends who support them and may wish to donate funds that will be needed for funeral costs and related expenses.

Cam was loved by all and will be truly missed. We trust that he is in the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
