I walked up and asked if they wanted to try catching my mystery football. His son caught it, and after the game, I learned so much more about their story. Vincente opened up about how heavy life has been lately. He’s a veteran, a former cop who worked in the prison system. He was stabbed on the job, and the injuries have made it incredibly hard to find work again. He’s fallen behind on his mortgage and bills. And then he shared something no parent should ever have to say out loud… He recently lost his second son to SIDS. Still grieving. Still fighting. Still showing up for the child standing right next to him. In the middle of unimaginable loss and hardship, Vincente keeps going—for his family, for his son, for hope. Let’s come together and help lift this family back onto their feet. Let’s remind Vincente that he’s not alone—and that his story isn’t over.
Hi everyone, this is James. I’ve spent years showing up for others—especially those struggling with homelessness and addiction. After battling addiction myself for decades, I’ve been clean for almost three years. When I got sober, I didn’t walk away from the world. I leaned in. Now, I spend my time helping others get back on their feet, offering support, encouragement, and hope to people who feel like they’ve run out of it. I even started a small nonprofit focused on helping people find purpose and stability again. Right now, my wife and I are facing a very difficult situation. Because of circumstances outside our control, we need to leave the place we’ve been living and find a new, safe place to call home—quickly. On top of that, I recently made the hard decision to walk away from my job to protect my sobriety, which has made this transition even more challenging. I’m not someone who asks for help easily. In fact, I’m usually the one giving it. This fundraiser is to help my wife and me cover immediate expenses, secure stable housing, and get through this transition without losing the progress I’ve worked so hard to build. Any support you can give will make a real difference for us right now.
Chuck is an 88-year-old U.S. Army veteran who has not had a home in over 35 years. Every day, he lives with constant back and neck pain, sleeping outside and using a bag of clothes as a pillow. Six months ago, someone stole his electric wheelchair, leaving him with only a broken walker that makes getting around painful and unsafe. When I offered him help, Chuck broke down in tears and said, “I haven’t cried like this in 40 years.” For over 20 years, Chuck’s closest companion has been Heidi, who is also homeless. Together, they take care of each other, protect one another, and share what little they have to survive. Their resilience and friendship are a testament to the power of human connection, even in the hardest circumstances. 100% of donations will go toward a new electric wheelchair so Chuck can move comfortably and without pain, safe housing (starting with short-term placement and working toward long-term stability), food, clothing, basic necessities, ongoing support for Chuck and Heidi, and travel expenses. No veteran should spend their final years on the streets, and no one should be forgotten. We will post updates along the way and a final update video when we reunite with Chuck to get him into housing and secure his electric wheelchair. If you’re able to donate or share, thank you for helping restore dignity, safety, and hope to two people who have taken care of each other for decades.
Luca is a bright and hopeful child who deserves every opportunity to grow up safe, healthy, and supported. Right now, Luca is facing significant challenges that make it difficult to access the essentials every child needs—nutritious food, clean water, education, and protection. Without these basic needs, Luca’s future is uncertain, and the path forward is filled with obstacles that no child should have to face alone. As the organizer, I am reaching out to our community because I believe in the power of collective kindness. With your generosity, we can help provide Luca with nutritious meals, clean water, access to education, and a safe environment. These resources will not only address Luca’s immediate needs but also offer hope and stability for the future. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward making sure Luca has the support and care needed to thrive. Please consider joining us in supporting Luca’s journey. Your kindness can make a real difference and help build a foundation for a healthier, happier future. Thank you for your compassion and support.
