Hi everyone, this is James. I’ve spent years showing up for others—especially those struggling with homelessness and addiction. After battling addiction myself for decades, I’ve been clean for almost three years. When I got sober, I didn’t walk away from the world. I leaned in. Now, I spend my time helping others get back on their feet, offering support, encouragement, and hope to people who feel like they’ve run out of it. I even started a small nonprofit focused on helping people find purpose and stability again.
Right now, my wife and I are facing a very difficult situation. Because of circumstances outside our control, we need to leave the place we’ve been living and find a new, safe place to call home—quickly. On top of that, I recently made the hard decision to walk away from my job to protect my sobriety, which has made this transition even more challenging. I’m not someone who asks for help easily. In fact, I’m usually the one giving it. This fundraiser is to help my wife and me cover immediate expenses, secure stable housing, and get through this transition without losing the progress I’ve worked so hard to build. Any support you can give will make a real difference for us right now.
