<div>I've known Mohanad about 5 years. He used to translate Arabic to English for the Oct 16th journalist group. Their leader Wafaa Al Udaini was assassinated by Israel 2 years ago along with nearly all her family. I and a group of solidarity activists and Oct 16th journalists would meet in zoom meetings and became close. So I feel a special connection for Mohanad and his colleagues and mourn the loss of the wonderful Wafaa.

<div>For a long time Mohanad has not asked for money. But seeing his Dad age rapidly as home is destroyed and people close to them killed , he feels broken hearted.

<div>He's a brilliant English speaker and has been offered an MA course in Ireland. The trauma of a taxi flight for life out of Gaza City end of August 2025 as Israeli forces intensify the bombardment means "I'd forgotten about that offer!" he tells me in WhatsApp.

<div>I am Yanis Hamad from the Gaza Strip, from the city that was annihilated, Beit Hanoun. I studied a diploma in Agricultural Engineering at Al-Azhar University and studied E-Marketing at Al-Quds Open University. Unfortunately, I wasn’t as lucky as other graduates to work in my field of study. I have been accustomed to freelancing since I was 16 years old. I worked in a clothing store, an ice cream shop, a household goods store, a barbershop, and I cultivated the land to provide for my family, being the eldest son to a father who was consumed by that malignant disease that devoured his pure body. I worked hard to provide treatment for my father and tried to send him abroad, never imagining his loss in any way! But my efforts to help him survive were not enough to face our eternal enemy who committed a massacre against my sick father and my family. Let me tell you the details of the incident for those who still have humanity to read about our tragedy.

<div>With the sunset in 2014, during an evening family gathering where we were trying to drown out the catastrophic sounds of rockets and shelling outside, I sat beside my father, speaking with a tone full of optimism about his improving health and our victory over this vile disease. But the occupier had another opinion. That evening, he decided to take away my beloved father and what remained of his health with a reconnaissance missile to threaten us by bombing the house, taking with him my elder sister, the flower of our home, and my uncles, grandmother, and uncle’s wife. My siblings, cousins, and I were all injured. Our entire family almost got wiped off the civil registry in an attempt to threaten us by bombing the house. I wonder, had they not issued this threat, what would have been the difference between what happened and what would have happened?

<div>My dear father was martyred in my arms, beside my heart. His pure soul ascended to heaven, and with him ascended all my efforts to preserve what was left of his health. A thousand kisses and peace be upon his soul and theirs.
</div>

</div>
<div>Continuing with my story, as I mentioned, I am the eldest son, and especially after that fateful incident, I had to take care of my family, consisting of my mother and my five siblings: Mohammed, Nancy, Dania, Kenan, and Rakan. Mohammed is studying abroad, Nancy and Dania are at university, and my wife is also part of our family. Kenan had the most severe injury among us, miraculously saved from certain death after traveling for treatment abroad, suffering nerve damage with some lingering effects on his body. As for Rakan, along with his physical injuries, he suffered psychologically from witnessing the martyrdom of our family before his small eyes, which caused a delay in his speech due to the shock of the horrifying scene.

<div>After my father's passing, we rebuilt a family house at a cost of $45,000, and alongside my work here and there, I was able, thanks to God, to build a residential apartment to live in and start a family, which cost me $35,000. After five years, I opened my own business, a barbershop, at a cost of $6,000. But as usual, this occupier, who is accustomed to taking everything we have, left us with nothing but memories.

<div>After trying to overcome this pain, my uncle Raed took my father’s place, providing us with moral and financial support, reuniting our family, and was God’s gift to our tired hearts. He was with me in building my own family, in my engagement, and in building my house, involved in every detail of my life. At some point, he too proposed to a girl and started a family, but in the 2021 war, my uncle, my second father, was taken away from us, that groom whom the angels escorted to heaven. I can never forget my sister Nancy's post about him: “They say the uncle is like a father, and I have become an orphan once again.”
</div>

<div>After this incident, I got married and started my own family, and I now have a beautiful child, may God protect him. But since his birth, my child has been suffering from a hole in his heart, a medical condition called VSD. We had to keep a close watch on his tiny heart as it grew, hoping he would be in good health, God willing.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In this extermination and the war of death (2023), on the twentieth day of the war, the occupation forces destroyed my family's house and my house completely, leveling the place and destroying the infrastructure of my city, Beit Hanoun. A few days later, they destroyed my workplace, the barbershop I was running to provide a decent life for two families. Now, I no longer have a home, a job, or any means of survival, and I am unable to rise from beneath this catastrophe, while there are people depending on me to provide for them with the bare minimum to continue living.

<div>On the first day of the war, we evacuated Beit Hanoun on foot at midnight after receiving the first threat message, with my young son, my mother, my wife, and my younger siblings crying behind me, heading into the unknown, only walking with the crowd until we ended up at a school in the Jabalia camp. After that, we moved to the Sheikh Radwan area, but the bombing of the Karama towers was so intense that glass fell on our heads, so we decided to evacuate to a shelter in the Al-Jalaa area. Later, the occupier dropped leaflets ordering us to go to the southern part of the Strip. Since our family had already tasted pain, we had to obey their damned orders and moved to a shelter in Rafah. We were shocked to hear about our grandfather’s passing in Deir al-Balah, but again we weren’t safe. Death visited us once more, forcing us to flee from a city where we had lived for seven months, ending up in a shelter in Deir al-Balah, sitting in a tent inside this shelter, with no amenities, with walls made only of our winter blankets.

<div>We do not know what we will do in the coming days, and when winter comes again, how will we face it? I hope we will still be considered human beings when that time comes, and that we will have enough funds to survive, leave this place, and live abroad in a house with walls, a bathroom, and available water and electricity, where my family will be protected from heat and rain.

<div>For that reason, I am trying this opportunity to help us live a dignified life and hope you will look upon us with humanity and assist in our campaign to reach the necessary amount of $45,000.

<div>The permits and fees required to leave Gaza through the Rafah crossing to Egypt are $5,000 per person (8 people, which totals $40,000), plus $5,000 to ensure a dignified life for us abroad, covering shelter, food, and clothing in our early days.

Help My Family to Survive and Evacuate From Gaza

The War in Sudan has created the World’s largest Humanitarian crisis. According to the World Food Programme 19 million people are facing extreme levels of hunger and very little international humanitarian aid is reaching the country.<br /><br />In Response to this tragic situation in our native country, we have setup the Khartoum Aid Kitchen initiative to feed the hungry in the greater Khartoum area. <br /><br />Our first Kitchen in Al Hitana Omdurman has been a success. Alleviating hunger in the area by feeding 1,250 of the most needy people daily. The fortified stew we provide with bread is not only intended to provide sustenance but to also be nutritionally balanced. <br /><br />Since our kitchen in Al Hitana opened we have proceeded to rapidly setup new kitchens across the Khartoum State area. With the hope of being able to feed as many hungry people as possible. <br /><br />We currently directly run 12 fully fledged Kitchens as well as 5 partner kitchens which we support by covering their rice needs.<br /><br /><b><i>Directly run kitchens:</i></b><br />

<div>There's no safe place in Sudan, and we can't ever afford to move to another place. Living costs are way beyond our capability. We've received humanitarian aid one time, and then it stopped. We have to ask relatives for money every month. It's very hard for me to do this, especially as someone who was in the upper-middle class (thanks to my mom's job in KSA).

<div>One of my biggest fears is the famine that is approaching every day with the prices changing as well. It's very challenging.

<div>This ordeal has traumatized us so badly, especially my 11-year-old sister, who witnessed the death of my mother's only sibling due to lack of medical help with hospitals out of service and continuous displacement. All of this resulted in massive hair loss and color shift; her smile grows dimmer every day. And my mom suffers the most as she can't do anything for us. She hasn't had a job for so long. I want to help her; she's not alone.

<p>If this war saves us, you will not escape famine and misfortunes!! 290 days of endless war, fear, thirst and hunger. 290 days of watching my loved ones fade away, leaving a permanent, painful scar in my heart. Even if I try to forget, the loud sounds of gunfire, the screams of people dying, and the smell of blood around me constantly haunt me, reminding me of all the suffering. To avoid the bitterness of losing another family member, I ask for your help to save us. My name is Ahmad Al-Kafarna, I am 20 years old. Over the past ten years, I have poured my soul into achieving my dreams, but they have been cruelly taken away from me. All my life I've been saving money to start my own business. When my dream began to become a reality, this cruel war began. I woke up to my family's horrific screams. Surrounded by tanks, under a red sky filled with missiles, I fled my home, leaving everything behind. My dreams, my savings, my degree, my past, my present, my future...they are all gone. My entire city, Beit Hanoun, has now turned to ashes. If it were just for me, I would rather die than ask for help, but I lost my brother in war before and I would do anything to save my family from hunger and heat in this harsh weather. <p>In the tent everything is very hot The mattress, pillow, blanket, water jug, cups, plates, sand, towel, the only chair in the tent, Even drinking water Which is supposed to reduce the heat It will be very hot Which sees bubbles rising from the single stainless cup standing on the floor of the tent.

<p>In the heat of the tent, your body transforms To a fingerprint device for ants and mosquitoes And mites and fleas and flies and heat pellets and other things. 
</p>
<p>In the heat of the tent, you are surrounded by lizards, mice, scorpions, and insects of all kinds that you have never known before.

<p>In the heat of the tent, no one can maintain his original nature The calm person is no longer calm, the dreamer is no longer a dreamer, and the obedient person is no longer obedient. It is rare to find a person who maintains his level of understanding of others as it was before.

<p>In the heat of the tent, you are plagued with headaches, low or high blood pressure, all kinds of pills, kidney problems, bone pain, body wilting, and general laziness that you cannot overcome, and suppressed crying whenever you feel suffocated in a stream of sweat.

<p>When you read what we write about tent life, you have to adjust your seat, stare at the words carefully, and open your mind to something new that you might be able to imagine, but you will never succeed.

<p>Khalil Al-Kafarna is five years old. He was named after his uncle, the martyr who rose in the 2012 war. Khalil, my nephew. His left eye suffers from a problem with the retina and severe poor vision since birth. He needs a medical patch constantly to maintain the stability of the lens of his eye and prevent it from becoming lazy. Covering his good eye so that he can focus on his other eye, and he needs follow-up and constantly renewed medical glasses according to the improvement of his vision or, God forbid, due to the dissatisfaction of his condition. He also needs to travel abroad to have a lens implantation operation performed and save his eye so that he can continue his life and education with a healthy eye, God willing. Khalil lives in a modest tent and does not He cannot bear any of the necessities of life, and the intense July heat and strong sun prevent him from being able to open his eyes and play with the other children. I can also add that Khalil’s father used to work as a hairdresser and did not take the shaving tools out of his house. He now does not have any work to support his family, which consists of 4 members. Therefore, it is difficult for him to provide for Khalil’s special needs or to send him abroad for a treatment trip, knowing that our child is in a race against time to save his eye. It is expected that the lens of his eye will disappear or be lazy. Help Khalil by donating or publishing the link as a favor, not an order.

<div>I am a dedicated resident physician who is working at Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir El-Balah, the middle area of Gaza Strip. Since October 7th, the situation in Gaza has been deteriorating and the conflict is escalating. Despite that, I have been tirelessly working a 24-hour every other day in various departments including ER, ICCU, and ICU, dealing with different kinds of patients, grappling with the challenges of a limited medical staff and the hazards of returning home.

We were standing in a waiting line for bathroom, for getting bread, for filling a gallon of purified drinking water, for receiving a food parcel, for cellphone charging, and for everything you could have imagined. Our life has completely turned upside down in a blink of an eye since october 7th.

So I have come to a point where I’m desperate, and humbly ask you to help us getting out of Gaza to save our lives and pursue my career in medicine.

I am married to Shahd Al-Masry, 31 years old, a graduate of basic education. I got married in 2013 and had 3 children. Julia, 10 years old, Zain, 7 years old, and Elia, 3 years old.

<div>The occupation army asked us to leave our homes immediately to evacuate. Unfortunately, we left the house quickly to save our lives and the lives of my children in particular, walking until we reached Jabalia camp. We settled in UNRWA schools for a week, and the shelling was very close to us and the massacres were around us. I was also injured at the time. After the shelling intensified, the army asked us to leave to the south immediately before attacking the schools and the entire area.

<div>We moved again to the south to the city of Deir al-Balah on the sea road. We settled in a dilapidated tent that did not protect us from the heat of summer or the cold of winter. Abood, residing in an area north of Wadi Gaza, has endured unspeakable losses—over 100 family members and friends, including the tragic loss of his sister's unborn child due to white phosphorus exposure. Despite the relentless suffering, Abood has remained a beacon of hope, steadfast in his commitment to his community. However, the recent escalation of violence and the deteriorating humanitarian situation have left Abood and his family in grave danger. The prices to leave Gaza are exorbitant, far beyond their means. The Rafah crossing offers a glimmer of hope, but the financial burden is overwhelming at $7,500 per adult and $3000 per child.

I went to the hospital in the evening under the bombing and danger and no ambulance came to take me because of the seriousness of the situation. We went in a fast car until we reached the hospital. During the birth he had an accident and suffered a broken collarbone and a dislocated nerve plexus. Since that day he has not been able to move his right hand at all. I want my child to be healthy like other children and to move his hand and be healthy. I went everywhere but unfortunately in Gaza and because of the siege and war there are no treatments or devices because everything was destroyed and the hospitals and my child needs physical therapy sessions and electricity sessions to move his hand. Once a dedicated worker at a wood and iron supply shop in Rafah, earning just $250 a month, Mohammed’s world was turned upside down when the war forced him to stop working.But the loss of his job is only part of his story. Mohammed and his family have endured unimaginable tragedy. In a brutal airstrike, his home was reduced to rubble, and he lost many close relatives and cousins. Over 100 martyrs were claimed that day, leaving Mohammed, his parents, sister, and four children – Yusuf, Abdullahi, Waytal, and Miski – as survivors of this horrific attack.The war has robbed Mohammed of not just his livelihood, but his family and home. His parents are struggling with chronic illnesses, and the costs of their medical treatments are overwhelming. Mohammed is left with nothing but grief, responsibility for his children, and the heavy burden of rebuilding their lives from scratch.Why We Need $80,000This campaign aims to raise $80,000 to give Mohammed and his family a fighting chance. The funds will be spent to:Rebuild Their Home – Part of the funds will go toward securing housing for Mohammed’s family, providing them with shelter and basic necessities after their home was destroyed.Medical Treatments for His Parents – A significant portion of the money will be used for the costly treatments Mohammed’s parents urgently need. Chronic conditions have worsened due to the trauma and stress of the war.Support for His Four Children – Mohammed’s children, Yusuf, Abdullahi, Waytal, and Miski, have been deeply affected by the war. Funds will be allocated for their basic needs like food, clothing, education, and emotional support to help them recover from the trauma.Starting Over – As Mohammed was the sole provider, the remaining funds will help him find new ways to support his family, whether by starting a small business or learning new skills. <div>On October 9, 2023, our home in Beit Hanoun was obliterated by bombs. “We didn’t have time to grab anything. We just ran—barefoot, terrified. My wife and sister held each other as our house came down on top of us.”

<div>Since then, the ten of us are living in a tent in Gaza city with no electricity, gas, or human toilet.

<div>I can't explain to you how awful is the tank’s bombs and the clashes, they are very close to us, Gaza is a very small place, nowhere to run.

<div>A piece of shrapnel ripped through my right eye. “I’ve lost 90% of my vision. Every morning I wake up and it feels like broken glass is stuck behind my eyelid. If I don’t get surgery soon, I might go completely blind.”

They would help if I and my family were forced to leave Gaza and go to Rafah near the border, covering the travel costs to the travel agency, evacuating the hell-like Gaza.
