<div>As many of you know, our journey as a family has been defined by resilience and a deep love for our daughters. A few years ago, our lives changed when our daughter Emma, at just two years old, was diagnosed with <strong>NEDJED (Neurodevelopmental, Jaw, Eye, and Digital Syndrome)</strong>. At the time, she was the <strong>only known case in Mexico and the only active case in the United States.</strong>

<div>This diagnosis was the primary reason we decided to emigrate. We needed to ensure Emma’s life wasn’t in danger and to find the specialized care she deserved.

<div>After years of therapies, consultations with specialists, and the invaluable support of<strong> Dr. Roberto Canessa</strong>, we finally received the greatest gift: <strong>the confirmation that Emma’s life is not at risk.</strong>

<div>With this diagnosis, we were also told that Emma would most likely never be able to walk, eat on her own, or speak. <strong>Today, thanks to her daily effort, therapies, and her incredible strength, she has surpassed those early expectations</strong>. She not only walks, but runs and loves to swim. She eats independently and very well, and she does speak, she even argues like any strong little girl full of personality.

<div>Throughout this time, my husband has worked tirelessly, and I have dedicated myself to training in speech therapy, neurodivergent nutrition, and ABA therapy to provide our daughters with the best support at home.

<div>Today, we are at a turning point. <strong>We are in the final stage of our immigration process</strong> to obtain our permanent residency and eventually, our citizenship. This is the last hurdle to <strong>ensure our family's stability and Emma’s continued access to her medical team.</strong>

<div>We are facing a final legal and processing fee of <strong>$15,000. </strong>While we continue to work hard to cover our expenses, we are reaching out to our community for a helping hand. <div>On the evening of Saturday, September 6th, our dear friend Sarah Mengarelli’s world was turned upside down when her husband, Cameron, tragically drowned in Lake Powell. While attempting a flip off a houseboat, rotated incorrectly, and suffered a fatal injury upon entering the water. What began as a fun weekend at the lake with his family ended in the unimaginable, and his loss has left a hole in the hearts of Sarah, their three kids, their families, and everyone who loved him.

He heartily prayed his wife through scores of nearly sleepless nights, endless edits, and deep dives into fine print mazes of technical and professional directives.
