For nearly two years, we’ve carried this story quietly. In October 2024, we lost our son, Elijah, at 32 weeks following a catastrophic uterine rupture that nearly claimed Javonna’s life as well. What should have been one of the happiest days of our lives became the most heartbreaking. In the midst of unimaginable grief, we were given the gift of meeting our son. We were able to hold him, tell him how much we loved him, and spend precious moments together as a family. Elijah was beautiful.

 For a long time, we weren’t ready to share this story publicly. Grief has its own timeline, and it took us nearly two years to find the strength to tell it. During that time, we focused on healing, leaning on our faith, supporting one another, and learning how to carry the loss of Elijah while continuing to move forward. While nothing can replace our son, he will always be a part of our family and our future.

 As we began discussing the possibility of growing our family, we were faced with another difficult reality. Because of the medical circumstances surrounding Elijah’s loss, carrying another pregnancy presents significant risks. After much prayer, reflection, and consultation with medical professionals, we have determined that surrogacy is the safest path forward. For the first time in a long time, we are allowing ourselves to dream again. Surrogacy offers us hope—a chance to continue our journey toward parenthood while honoring Elijah’s memory every step of the way. Unfortunately, it also comes with significant financial costs. Creating this fundraiser was not an easy decision. We are much more comfortable helping others than asking for help ourselves. But so many people have asked how they can support us, and we’ve realized that allowing others to walk alongside us is its own act of courage. Every donation, share, message, and prayer helps us move one step closer to growing our family. More importantly, it reminds us that we aren’t alone.

<div>On Sunday, April 5th, our dear friend Cascea unexpectedly lost her husband, Shaun, the love of her life. Their world changed in an instant, and the grief surrounding this loss is immeasurable. Shaun leaves behind a beautiful blended family of five who adored him deeply and looked to him as a steady, loving presence in their lives.

<div>Shaun was a loving, kind, and gentle man. He was a devoted father, husband, son, brother, uncle, colleague, and friend. He lived with patience, joy, and a deep love for Jesus that shone through in the way he treated everyone he met. The impact he made on those around him was truly incredible, and his absence will be felt by so many. While our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing he is now with his Lord and Savior.

<div>Cascea is not only grieving the sudden loss of her sweet husband, but she is also a small business owner who will need time away from work to process this unimaginable loss and care for her family. During this time, her income will be affected, yet the financial responsibilities of daily life and running a business will continue.

<div>Hey friends! My name's Nate, a shift lead at the Wentzville Jimmy John's, where I was lucky enough to meet and get to know <strong>Logan</strong>. He's always been one of the wittiest workers and a very kind guy to anyone and everyone he meets, including talking to homeless people in the Wentzville area and inviting them in shop to grab a bite to eat; he always covered the bill. Logan always goes above and beyond to help others and strives to make the world a better place.

<div>Recently, he was met with a lot of bad luck. Two months back, he was involved in a hit and run on his shift. (He still finished the delivery though!) I took him to the emergency room to get checked out, and if anyone's been there, you'll understand how financially hard that can be on a student, especially with bad insurance.

<div>On top of that, Logan had to deal with the aftermath of another accident, one where his driver's side door was crushed in and his back ended up injured. Neither of these accidents were his fault, but both caused him to end up with hospital bills and a severely damaged car.

<div>My husband and I didn't want to resort to doing a go fund me page. However, this situation has hit us hard and fast.

<div>To give you a bit of a background, we have 4 dogs. All of them perfectly healthy and each one has so much life and personality. All 4 are rescues through some method or another and both my husband and I aim to give them the best life that we possibly give them.

<div>In May of 2016, we adopted Kipper. She is a black and tan coonhound. We adopted her for a number of reasons. After talking with the clinic, they said that she more than likely wouldn't have been adopted because of her behavioral issues. We opted to bring her into our family.

<div>Prior to us, she has had a rough life. Bouncing from one place to the next, and - we believe - at some point was abused.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Since then, we've made sure she has had a life that would make her forget her past.
</div>

<div>A couple of months ago, she started having some health issues. Small, but noticeable though. We brought her to the vet a number of times to try and determine the root cause with no luck. January 21, things escalated quickly.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>She's had a number of things internally happen to her, and through many tests - we have discovered that she has a nasal tumor.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Treating this is possible and could bring her quality of life back up. However, the treatment for this tumor is radiation and that process is very expensive.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We are asking for help with this as a last resort because the doctors are requesting payment within the next month. The treatment process would last right around a month and they are positive that they'll be able to start treating her as soon as next week.
</div>

</div>
<div>We cannot live with ourselves knowing that we could do something to help her out, but financially couldn't afford to do so. We both work 2 jobs each right now and will continue to do so.
</div>
