 On days like these we just need someone to hold our hands. It’s so hard to walk through this journey with our hearts so heavy.   My cousin Rebecca and her husband Robert lost their precious son, Connor Ghawi. He was only 18 years old and just graduated from Winder Barrow High School. He recently received a promotion from Publix where he worked diligently to save enough to purchase his first car. Connor was a very sweet, sensitive boy and brought so much love and joy into the lives of all that knew him. He will be deeply missed.  As we come to terms with Connor’s passing, the family is faced with the expense of arranging his final farewell. Although there is no easy way to say goodbye to a child, we hope to at least ease the financial burden of his family. We are reaching out for support in honoring Connor’s memory and any contribution - no matter how small - will help alleviate the financial strain and allow his parents and older sister, Kirsten, to focus on grieving, healing, and remembering Connor, whose life ended way too soon. 
 The funds raised will go directly towards funeral expenses and financial challenges as a result of this tragedy. Thank you for your compassion and generosity. We also appreciate your prayers during this difficult time.

Noah has been given the incredible opportunity to embark on an educational trip to Washington D.C. and New York City with his school in March through a company called explore america. 
  However, the cost of this trip is quite steep coming all the way from Alaska and we are reaching out to our loved ones to help make this dream come true for him. Peter Anderson served his country for 20 years in the US Navy. He has had to, like most veterans, endure long absences from his wife and children. Since his retirement he has shown the same dedication to his family and friends as he did his country. He has endured many hardships along the way but refused to admit defeat and remained positive and dedicated to those around him. Peter was diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease ( COPD ) in 2013 and continued to work and provide for his family until 2015 when he was forced into retirement due to the severity of his disease. He has remained positive throughout the entire process and is, without a doubt, the anchor that keeps his family from drifting into the abyss of negativity and doubt. Peter Anderson is my father.      Since 2015 he has been in physical therapy to help combat the effects of the disease. Over the last few months his condition has been getting worse. The doctor wanted Peter to consider a lung transplant so over the last few months he has been going back and forth to Emory for tests and scans to see if he could be a candidate for a double lung transplant. During the testing the doctors discovered a spot on his lungs that is the beginning stages of lung cancer. The double lung transplant is his only option. He got the word this week September 19th that he is on the The United Network for Organ Sharing(UNOS) lung transplant list. He is in the next steps of the journey while he waits for his new lungs. There are many expenses that are associated with the transplant from Medical, lodging, and food. The lung transplant recovery process says give up to a year for recovery. 1-3 months in the hospital after the surgery then another 1-3 months living in the Mason House (lodging for transplant recipients) going to the hospital every day for tests and physical therapy. He will require a 24/7 Caregiver during this whole process.       The journey to recovery for this strong family man will be long and strenuous. Time is our enemy at this point and we are exploring all possible avenues to beat stage 5 COPD. Please join us in the fight to win the battle.
