I drive a 24 ft truck bumper to bumper, and one day I got over thinking it was a third lane. I quickly realized it wasn’t when the car in front of me moved over without a blinker. At that point, I had to make a split-second decision at 45 mph with oncoming traffic. <strong>I chose to take my truck into a ditch rather than risk hitting someone else.</strong>

<div>After the accident, I found out that insurance doesn’t do much, even with full coverage, when you avoid hitting someone else. My truck has been with the insurance company for three weeks now, and the mechanic claims most of the damage was prior. As a mechanic myself, I could see right away that it needed a new steering gearbox, both leaf springs, and a lot more work on the front end.
