Description: If anyone knows Eagle Construction, you know what I mean when I say they need a 'right lane must turn right' sign and some new lines. I drive a 24 ft truck bumper to bumper, and one day I got over thinking it was a third lane. I quickly realized it wasn’t when the car in front of me moved over without a blinker. At that point, I had to make a split-second decision at 45 mph with oncoming traffic. I chose to take my truck into a ditch rather than risk hitting someone else.
After the accident, I found out that insurance doesn’t do much, even with full coverage, when you avoid hitting someone else. My truck has been with the insurance company for three weeks now, and the mechanic claims most of the damage was prior. As a mechanic myself, I could see right away that it needed a new steering gearbox, both leaf springs, and a lot more work on the front end.
Since then, I’ve had to buy a new daily driver at my own expense, and I haven’t been able to work on our house in the mountains. This is especially tough because our lease in the valley ends in three months, and the house isn’t livable yet—especially for my pregnant wife. We’re doing everything we can, but we need some help to get back on our feet and make sure we have a safe place to welcome our baby. Any support would mean the world to us right now. Thank you for considering helping us during this tough time.
