Lorraine Calvo

Hi, my name is Lorraine Calvo, I’m a nurse that works for the NHS in the UK but importantly, I am from the island of Cebu in the Philippines. Recently, my home island was devastated by a shocking magnitude 6.9 earthquake that has affected my fellow Cebuanos. It is truly heartbreaking to see. Being away from my home country and seeing it survive natural disasters such as typhoons one after the other is hard enough but on the 30th of September an earthquake as well. I can't help but feel hopeless and overwhelmed for my country and for my countrymen. They can only endure so much. This is why, despite being so far away from home, I want to do everything I can to help and that includes asking for assistance so that we can afford supplies desperately needed by the survivors. Examples would be food, such as canned goods, rice, instant coffee, fresh and clean drinking water and other supplies such as batteries and flashlights, mosquito kits (net, sleeping mat) etc. Alone we can do little, together we can do so much Thank you very much
