Harris opened Video Library in August, 1981, as Santa Fe's 1st video rental boutique. Today, the Vid is the last video store in town, still serving the film buff audience after all these years. It has long been a destination for locals to meet up at the counter, and discuss movies, dogs, and life itself<strong>.</strong><br /><br /><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>WHY WE MATTER TO THE COMMUNITY:</strong></span><br />Lisa's movie collection--amassed over four decades--numbers in the tens of thousands, in Blu-ray &amp; DVD, plus rare and hard-to-find VHS. Specialties include extensive holdings in Shot in New Mexico, Fantastica, Documentaries, Classics, International Cinema,  and American Independents, as well as some of the best movies you've never heard of.  We have titles you truly cannot find anywhere else, including online! And Lisa and her knowledgeable staff (Luke Henley, Devin Horne, Rae Lesinski, Beth Dunphy) specialize in dispensing good movies, personal service, and video therapy. Staff picks are more individualized than any algorithm. <br /><br /><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>WHAT WE NEED:</strong></span><br />We launched this campaign on Sunday January 6th, 2019...Epiphany. Seemed appropriate. Because every single day, someone thanks Lisa for keeping the store going, and it brings her great joy to do so. But as the world goes streaming, and physical video rental dies screaming,  frankly, the Vid will fade without your support. We face constant shortfall. We're non-profit--but we sure don't mean to be! Kindly consider making a donation to our GoFundMe campaign. Or at least come in and rent a couple of movies. Bring your dog, too--we always have treats behind the counter. And please share this with folks as a community effort to get it out there. Many Thanks, The Vid<br /><br /><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>BY THE WAY</strong></span>:<br />We never were, are not, and never will be, computerized. Just as we did in 1981. business continues to be conducted on file cards with pen, and notations made on post-its. No membership cards, either. You are not a barcode. <br /><br /><strong><em>Please help this longtime institution to continue serving Santa Fe!</em><br /> <br /></strong>Operators are standing by ;-).

<div><strong>Friends of Spider-Man everywhere: your generosity is astounding!</strong> We are profoundly grateful to every single person who has chipped in to support our Minneapolis superhero, from the Twin Cities and all around the world. <strong>As we bring this fundraiser to a close, we want to offer an update for all of you.</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<ul>
<li><strong>WHO WE ARE:</strong> As the press has already figured out, “your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man” is none other than the valiant <strong>William Nicholas Love</strong>. His fiancée <strong>Keyssy Figueroa</strong> is the beneficiary of this fundraiser <a href="https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-the-minnesota-spiderman-recover" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">and another</a>. <strong>Ash Chudgar</strong> (that’s me) is just a guy from Minneapolis who was inspired by Spider-Man’s actions and wanted to support him.
</li>
<li><strong>NEED IS MET!</strong> Keyssy and I started our fundraisers with very modest goals. But as people donated more and more, GoFundMe raised the funding goal automatically. As of today, we’ve disabled that feature. <strong>We ask for no further donations.</strong>
</li>
<li><strong>THE RISKS HE TOOK.</strong> Our Spider-Man took real risks to combat hate in Minnesota, with his family’s full support. Sadly, the sudden spotlight has made him and his family <strong>a target of racists everywhere</strong>. Your prayers for their safety are welcome.
</li>
<li><strong>NO LEGAL FEES.</strong> Wonderfully, <strong>Spider-Man is being represented on a pro bono basis</strong>. No funds will go toward legal fees related to Spider-Man’s actions on August 22. The police charged Spider-Man with assault, and GoFundMe’s terms specify that “funds raised on the platform cannot be used to cover legal fees for an individual who has been charged with a violent crime.”
</li>
<li><strong>WHERE YOUR MONEY WILL GO.</strong> Instead of paying for legal fees, your gifts will help Spider-Man pay for other needs such as <strong>medical treatment</strong>, helping <strong>secure his and his family’s safety</strong>, and funding his ongoing work to <strong>entertain, inspire, and organize</strong> local community efforts to combat hatred in all its forms.
</li>
<li><strong>REFUNDS AVAILABLE.</strong> If you’d like to request a full refund in light of this update, <strong>just <a href="https://support.gofundme.com/hc/en-us/articles/204150420-Request-a-refund" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">contact GoFundMe support directly</a> by September 10</strong>. After that, your gifts will be released to Spider-Man.
</li>
</ul>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Thank you again for your solidarity, your generosity, and most of all for your joy!</strong> We in Minneapolis are are deeply grateful that you and thousands of others around the world chipped in to support “our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.”

<div>Help Crystal Focus on Healing and Art Work! Amazing friend, artsy sister and overall wonderful human Crystal Hernandez was recently involved in an accident with a car while riding her bicycle, leaving her with a fractured clavicle and other injuries. Good news: she’s ok and on her way to healing! Less-good news: She is having surgery this week to repair the fracture with hardware, and she will require 6 to 8 weeks to recover.
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div> Unlike people with paid medical leave, Crystal is an artist and gig worker. She pieces together six or seven different jobs every week, all of which require physical labor. With her non-dominant arm immobilized with a serious shoulder injury, she's simply unable to do the work that pays her bills. Right now, her priority needs to be healing – not worrying about rent, groceries, and other everyday expenses. Her injury requires her to be extremely careful how she moves during her recovery.
</div>
<div>
</div>
<div> We're hoping to raise funds to help replace lost income, cover essential living expenses, and give her the financial breathing room to focus on getting better. If her recovery is shorter than expected, any remaining funds will cover rehabilitation and medical costs. Every donation, no matter the amount, makes a big difference. The good news is that Crystal is still able to paint, so if you would rather support her by commissioning one of her beautiful, custom pet portraits through her Instagram account, @wants_for_nothing, it would be much appreciated! Purchasing her artwork is another wonderful way to help her get back on her feet. Thank you for reading, sharing this fundraiser, and supporting Crystal during a difficult, unexpected bump in the road. Your kindness and support will help give her the time and space she needs to heal.

<div>Raising funds to help Aurora Rush and Shae Sanders pay their medical and legal bills, recover from this violent crime, and find justice.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>2 trans people were victims of a violent attack carried out by transphobes in Benton, Louisiana. They were attacked by a group of 10 transphobes, one of them had to be taken to a hospital by an ambulance, and the police sided with the transphobic mob and arrested both victims.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This happened at Cypress Lake, Aurora was preparing to leave while her partner, Shae, was in the restroom. A man started following Aurora and yelled threats and insults at her, and warned her not to use the restroom, something she wasn’t even trying to do. More people joined him and surrounded her. Shae exited the restroom and tried to get in between Aurora and the man who started harassing her. The mob started pushing them, and after Shae was shoved into someone else the mob jumped on top of both of them and beat them for ~2 minutes.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>One of them was knocked unconscious and had to be taken to a hospital by an ambulance. A staff member at Cypress Lake called the police, and the police sided with the attackers, who claimed that the two trans people started the altercation. They were both arrested and charged with "disturbing the peace."
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Despite being legally female, Aurora was still documented as being male by police and put in the men’s cell. In their efforts to misgender her, they went as far as making up a deadname to use in their report instead of her legal name.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The police claimed that the cameras at the site weren’t functional when they were asked about footage, but a lawyer would help them confirm whether this is actually true and obtain footage of their attackers.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Funds to help them pay their medical and legal bills and recover from this assault would greatly help them. She is also hoping that drawing attention to this will help them find a lawyer to take their case.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Aurora is an activist who devotes so much of her time to helping people in need. I am hoping that the community will show up for her like she has for so many. Please donate if you can, share this, and check in with your trans and queer loved ones.

Help Trans Couple Recover from Hate Crime

<div>In October of 2025, I – along with my field director and friend Andre Martin and four other individuals – was indicted for my advocacy and protest against ICE and this administration. Our case, United States v. Rabbitt, is set to go to trial in Chicago federal court on May 26 and the result could determine the future of our constitutional right to free association. These charges are bogus, but regardless of the outcome, the stress, public scrutiny, and financial burdens of this ordeal have forever changed our lives.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Currently, we are facing up to $250,000 in legal debt. Our lawyers are fantastic and we expect to win our case, which the government argued is a “spontaneous conspiracy” – that conspiracy being peacefully protesting outside of the Broadview ICE facility.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As we and our legal team have said from the beginning, dissent and protest is not a conspiracy. After lengthy legal battles, the government dismissed the felony conspiracy charge just weeks before trial. But they did not dismiss all the charges, and we still have trial on the misdemeanor counts for intimidating, interfering, and impeding an ICE agent.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you are not familiar with myself or my case, I am a 27-year-old researcher and journalist who covers the far-right and ran for Congress in Illinois. Throughout my campaign, I was not just vocal against Donald Trump's secret police, but put my body and reputation on the line during protests. Even if you don’t know my face, you probably saw <a href="https://bsky.app/profile/katmabu.bsky.social/post/3lz6sxfky3s2t" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">this video</a> of an ICE agent throwing me to the ground last September. That is not what we were charged for, but it shows what the conditions at Broadview were often like for protestors.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Andre is 27 as well, worked on my campaign, and has devoted his life to helping others through progressive advocacy, particularly surrounding the unhoused. We both love science fiction, petting cats, and cooking increasingly difficult recipes. We’ve worked in the nonprofit sector and progressive politics our entire adult lives – which is largely why we don’t have hundreds of thousands (much less mere thousands) of dollars to spare. We’re people with lives and futures and loved ones.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Even if – or rather, when – we win our trial, our lives and futures will be left in disarray. The administration is using prosecution as a cudgel to ruin dissenting Americans’ lives through the financial and psychological burdens of our legal system. Times are unbelievably difficult right now, so I tried to avoid asking others for money, especially after many donated to our campaign after the indictment for our legal defense. That was a lifeline, but the costs have mounted beyond our expectations.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you are someone who cares about the Constitution and First Amendment, hates what Donald Trump and his cronies are doing to this country, and has the resources to aid us in our fight against this unjust prosecution, we are asking for your help.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>All contributions will go to our legal defense, personal debt accrued over the past 6 months in an effort to pay our lawyers, and anything left will go to the National Lawyers Guild, which helped us find our representation and protects our First Amendment rights every single day through representation, jail support, and trained legal observers.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you to everyone who supported us over the last 6 months. And thank you for helping us win.
</div>

Stand with Kat and Andre Against Unjust Prosecution

<div>As a trans person from Florida, I know what it is to have gender affirming services outside of reach. After years of searching for affordable electrolysis and finding it lacking, I decided I would be the person to offer these services. I started studying almost ten years ago, but housing instability and healthcare inequality stood in my way. I’m now in a stable enough position to resume this mission and with your help I will see it through. My future electrolysis practice is called Operation ZipZap. You may remember it from some years ago.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The focus of Operation ZipZap is to provide affirming, affordable electrolysis with a focus on trans and non-binary people. This is a long-standing goal of mine and with your support I’m ready to make it a reality. Many people are unable to pursue permanent hair removal because of the cost. When we are able to schedule electrolysis, we often face microaggressions from well-meaning but out-of-touch staff who don’t understand the trans experience. I’m committed to providing services in a body positive, affirming environment because you deserve nothing less. Operation ZipZap will always function on a sliding scale, with a pay-it-forward program so that cost isn’t a barrier. Some surgeries, particularly bottom surgeries, require electrolysis. By removing this barrier, I can make those surgeries more accessible to trans people who are already struggling to pay for those procedures.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I already understand the fundamentals of electrolysis, having attended half of a Florida-based electrology course. I’m grateful for all the support that I’ve received so far, particularly the previous GofundMe which allowed me to go to school for electrology in Florida. Now that I live in New York, I intend to attend Berkowitz school of electrology and begin practicing locally. Eventually I would like to practice in the rural south as well. I can start classes as soon as I have tuition, which totals $6.9k. An electrolysis machine, plus materials, will cost between $1-4k. I will also need magnifying equipment.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>On a personal level, this is a step toward self sufficiency. My new career as an electrologist will allow me to support myself and my family while providing a much needed service to the community.
</div>
<div><br />

<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you for your support.

Help Yocheved Finish Electrolysis School

<div>Hi all,
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Here’s the backstory: Jesse, a super healthy 47 year old guy, had a kidney out in November of last year after doctors found a 9cm tumor (It was a big shock, nobody knows what caused it). In 99.5% of these cases, removal of the kidney fixes the problem and patients go on to live a long and healthy life. Scans were clear post-surgery and we thought we were in the clear.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>But in June of this year, Jesse started having unexplained fevers and breathing problems. Scans revealed new tumors in his lungs, muscle and brain. He was diagnosed with Stage IV, aggressive renal cancer and hospitalized. He underwent surgeries to ameliorate the substantial fluid gathering around his lungs and stabilize his breathing.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>He is currently stable and has started treatment to slow the cancer (immunotherapy and targeted therapy).
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As many of you know, Jesse and Chandra are freelance artists without disability insurance or a big safety net. They are also parents of a young child. All donations will go to help them deal with bills &amp; expenses as they navigate this difficult time.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you so much for your love and support.
</div>

<div>Indigenous climate activist, artist, musician, and father Jacob Johns was shot in the chest this morning, Sept 28.2023, during a No Juan de Oñate statue peaceful prayer ceremony in Tewa territory (more commonly known as Española, New Mexico). Jacob put his body between women and children when the shooter charged towards the altar. Jacob prevented the shooter from harming women and children. The shooter attempted to fire again but his gun jammed preventing him from committing a mass shooting of indigenous peoples while they were in prayer and ceremony. He was air-lifted to a hospital in Albuquerque, and had surgery. The shooter, who was wearing a red MAGA hat, is in custody of tribal police. We ask everyone to please pray with us that he survives this surgery and doctors have’ the strength and wisdom to help him.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Jacob, who is Hopi and Akimel O'odham, has dedicated his life to Indigenous and climate justice. He is a skilled muralist and speaker, and specializes in non-violent, peaceful “artivism”. He has a teenage daughter, she and his other family are currently flying from Washington State to Albuquerque New Mexico to be by his side.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This inspirational man has put his life on the line over and over again to make a better world for his fellow humans, and now he and his family need your support to recover from this terrible hate crime. As you can imagine, being a climate activist is not lucrative work to readily afford major life-saving surgery. We are humbly requesting your donations to help cover his recovery, his medical bills, and to help support his family needs during what will likely be a very lengthy recovery period. This comes just two months before Jacob will be leading an Indigenous Wisdom Keepers Delegation at COP28 to advocate for Indigenous solutions to climate change. Please pray with us for his recovery and donate if you can.

Help Jacob Johns Recover from Terrorist Shooting

<b>In the early hours of July 11, 2021, the world changed in an instant.</b> Josh Dowd—a spirit so bright, kind, and full of life that he left a mark on everyone he met—was found brutally assaulted and left for dead on the railroad tracks in Atlanta.<br /><br />The initial medical reports were devastating. Doctors classified his condition as a GCS3 coma—the deepest level of unconsciousness. We were told to prepare for the worst: that Josh would likely never wake up, or if he did, would remain in a persistent vegetative state. We were told to say goodbye.<br /><br /><b>But Josh had other plans.<br /></b><br />What happened next was not just a recovery; it was a defiance of the odds. In those critical first six months, while the world watched and prayed, Josh fought for every inch of ground:

<br /><br />
<ul>
<li><span><b>The Awakening</b>: He defied the GCS3 prognosis, opening his eyes and responding to our voices.</span>
</li>
<li><span><b>The Breath</b>: He fought to breathe on his own, successfully weaning off the ventilator and having his tracheostomy removed—a massive victory for his independence.</span>
</li>
<li><span><b>The Voice</b>: After months of silence, he found his voice again, whispering his first words and relearning to swallow and eat.</span>
</li>
<li><span><b>The Homecoming</b>: Perhaps the biggest miracle occurred in December 2021, when Josh was discharged from the Shepherd Center’s inpatient program—leaving a constant care environment when many predicted he would be institutionalized forever.</span>
</li>
</ul><span><br /><b>The New Battle: The Cost of Breaking Through</b><br /><br />Today, the "crisis" phase of saving Josh's life is over, but the fight for his quality of life has entered a more complex financial chapter.

While Josh still has high quality health insurance, the medical system has limits. Insurance covers the "standard of care"—the basics to keep him stable. But we know Josh is capable of more than just "stable."<br /><br />To truly recover what was stolen from him, Josh needs access to cutting-edge neuro-cognitive therapies and innovative rehabilitation techniques. These are the treatments pushing the boundaries of brain science, offering hope where traditional medicine says "this is as good as it gets."<br /><br />However, because these therapies are advanced, insurance classifies them as "experimental" and will typically cover nothing.<br /><br /><b>Why We Need You Now<br /></b><br />We are routinely presented with significant out-of-pocket costs to access these breakthroughs. This campaign is our way to bridge the gap between the basic care insurance provides and the advanced recovery Josh deserves.

Your support unlocks:<br /><br /></span>
<ul>
<li><b>Access to Emerging Therapies</b>: Cutting-edge treatments that target neuro-plasticity and brain repair, which are 100% patient-funded.
</li>
<li><b>Specialized, High-Tech Equipment</b>: Tools designed to retrain the brain and body that standard insurance deems "unnecessary."
</li>
<li><b>A Long-Term Strategy</b>: The ability to say "yes" to new medical opportunities without being stopped by the price tag.
</li>
</ul><span><br /><b>Be Part of the Legacy</b><br /><br />If you are new here, welcome to Team Josh. If you have been with us since those dark days in July 2021, <i>THANK YOU</i>. You are the reason he is here today.<br /><br />Josh proves to us every day that the impossible is just a starting point. We are asking you to view this not as a donation, but as an investment in a miracle still in progress. We will not stop until we have exhausted every opportunity—experimental or otherwise—to help Josh regain the life that was taken from him.<br /><br /><b>With love, gratitude, and unyielding hope,</b><br />~Colin, Josh and all his family and friends</span><span><br /></span>

Continue the Fight for Josh

<div>With your help, Sonya and some of her family successfully made the dangerous journey to escape artillery shelling in Chernihiv, Ukraine (see below for their story). They lost nearly everything after their home was ruined by bombing. Sonya's father has been working to help children in Kyiv escape to safety. We now hope to provide the traumatized children, Sonya and Polina, with a more stable new life in Poland: school supplies to start remote learning; clothes; shoes; bed linens and towels; books; toys; language lessons in Polish and English; and eye treatment for Sonya’s underlying vision problem that needs correction with some urgency.<br /><br />Since so many people have kindly asked what else the family needs and how they can help, we increased the goal of the GoFundMe to provide the family with their basic needs to get their life started since they’ve lost everything after leaving Ukraine. Our first priority will continue to be safety, food and shelter for the family in Poland, and for those remaining in danger in Ukraine.<br /><br /><strong>Any amounts raised beyond our goal or their basic needs will be used to provide direct benefits to other Ukrainian families in danger or in need. </strong><br /><br />For those coming to this page for the first time, here's the initial story:<br /><br />I've created this page on behalf of my cousin Denys (name changed and photo blurred for his security), his wife Tatiana, and their 6-year old daughter Sonya.<br /><br />After being bombed, Denys messaged me and shared some photos and a video he took (which I subtitled) below.<br /> <br />From Denys this morning (March 3, 2022) in Chernihiv, Ukraine:<br /> <br />Today planes fired rockets in our neighborhood in Chernihiv. The building next door was destroyed and ours suffered significant damage. Tomorrow we will try to get out of the city to western Ukraine. I'm sorry that I need to ask you for your support if possible, since it will be necessary to transport my wife Tatiana, daughter Sonya, sister Natalia, sister Olga and her little girl Polina to safety in Poland before this madness ends. I will be staying behind to defend my country. If you can provide any information that may be useful, I will be grateful!<br /><br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/63741649_1646576359760136_r.png" alt="63741649_1646576359760136_r.png" width="100%" media_type="3" />

<div>UPDATE 1:<br /><br />I'm happy to share that the two mothers, Tatiana and Olga, and their two young daughters, Sonya and Polina, along with their dog Schwartz, successfully crossed the border into Poland yesterday. It took them several days of driving through extreme danger, and then a final 24 hours of traffic jams, lines, and chaos at the border. They’ve been shown great kindness by the sister of a Chicago friend who took all of them into her own home on the Polish side of the border.<br /><br />Photo of Sonya parting with her father at the border:<br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/63741649_1646937480174454_r.png" alt="63741649_1646937480174454_r.png" width="100%" media_type="3" /><br /><br />Photo from day one in Poland:<br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/63741649_1646937127470749_r.jpeg" alt="63741649_1646937127470749_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /><br /><br /><br />Your support has been instrumental in accomplishing our initial goal of getting the mothers and children to safety. Sonya and her family would like to thank every single one of you who has supported them during this journey. Sonya’s parents wrote, “Thank you for showing such humanity and saving our lives. Our children are now safe and can sleep peacefully. They are starting to be themselves again.”<br /><br />We are now working to help them to rebuild their lives, since all they have left was packed into one carry-on size suitcase per person. Your support has been critical in helping them get food, clothes, SIM cards and other life necessities. For now, they are also missing their fathers and husbands, who have been required to stay behind and remain in grave danger. We are also trying to do what we can to help them because they are homeless due to Russian military destruction of their homes and hometown.<br /><br />If you are interested in helping them rebuild their lives or helping the family members still trapped in Ukraine, please consider adding to their GoFundMe account.<br /><br />The story you helped make possible aired on NBC News and can be viewed here:<br /><a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/nightly-news/video/ukrainians-in-the-u-s-working-to-help-refugees-escape-war-134908997988" target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://www.nbcnews.com/nightly-news/video/ukrainians-in-the-u-s-working-to-help-refugees-escape-war-134908997988</a><br /><br />I'd like to tell you more about the children you helped save. Sonya, at 5 years old, came in 1st place at the Mental Math Olympiad.<br /><br />Sonya's math skills:<br /><br /><iframe media_type="0" media_id="TVVdrl99hCI" class="youtube-replace" title="YouTube video player" style="margin-bottom:20px;width:560px;height:315px;" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/TVVdrl99hCI/?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="1"></iframe><br /><br />And Polina competed in the Table Tennis Championship:<br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/63741649_1646937630815961_r.jpeg" alt="63741649_1646937630815961_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /><br /><br />Lastly, many of you have asked in what other ways you can help Ukrainians. Help for Howie Kusten Pyro!

The community has been reaching out in support of Bree’s family and wanting to donate to the cause. First off, we are SO THANKFUL for EVERYONE standing up for justice and saying her name! We’re not stopping until we truly get justice! All of you are such a blessing! It’s amazing! <br /><br />Second of all, we are thankful for the offers for donations. My sister and niece are too proud to say it, but this is a tough fight and it does take a toll. They’re both hard workers and they’re missing out on some work (and sleep!) in this fight for justice.<br /><br />We do not expect anyone to donate to this cause; your voices are being heard and that alone is so powerful! But because of all the calls and the overwhelming generosity, I have set up this account for them. <br /><br />You all are a blessing. Thank you so much again for everything! And let’s keep this fight for justice going! <br /><br />#justiceforbre

In May I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I underwent a double mastectomy in July with a six day stay in the hospital. A second surgery was performed in August for breast reconstruction. This was a transplant surgery. Harvesting fat from another part of the body. The two surgeries were so extensive they required over 20 hrs of micro surgery under anesthesia. Each surgery has taken several months of recovery to regain my strength and mental stamina. I’m finally having my third surgery November 20th. This will be revisions &amp; tweaking from the prior surgeries. Unable to work during this time the bills have been mounting. There are many expenses insurance hasn’t covered. It’s added up to a few thousand. There are also deductibles &amp; co pays we needed to pay that has drained my savings. I hope to be able to start looking for work again when I’m fully healed in a couple months. Until then I’m kindly asking the help of friends if they can afford to donate a few dollars to get me back on my feet and out of debt. Whatever can be given is appreciated, it all adds up. I can’t thank enough the friends who have already donated so much and I’ll be forever grateful. Unfortunately the campaign has come to a halt and the bills continue in the mail. I hate to ask for help and I wish I didn’t have to. I wish I could still be my old self but cancer is unpredictable and can affect anyone’s life in an instant. I’m glad I caught it before it was fatal however it’s changed my life forever. Thank you all for your continued support and understanding through these difficult times. The money raised will help defray legal and public relations costs in select cases based on criteria and availability of funds. <br /><br />The Fund is housed at and administered by the National Women’s Law Center, an established, national women’s rights legal organization.  A network of lawyers and public relations professionals across the country work with the Center’s Legal Network for Gender Equity to provide assistance to those ready to stand up. Access to prompt and comprehensive legal and communications help will mean empowerment for these individuals and long term growth for our culture and communities as a whole.  <br /><br />Tax-deductible donations made to our GoFundMe campaign will go to the TIME’S UP Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, which supports the TIME’S UP Legal Defense Fund.  Previously, tax-deductible donations to the GoFundMe campaign were directed to The Direct Impact Fund, a 510(c)(3) nonprofit which helped launched the TIME’S UP Legal Defense Fund. <br /><br />Thank you for joining this movement - for your contribution, for sharing this campaign with others, and for standing together with us, so that all people can live free from sexual harassment and violence. <br /><br />The voices of those affected in every industry have been silenced for too long. From everyday people in the service industry, to farmers and businesspeople, to the entertainment and media industry and beyond, stand with us and let your voice be heard.<br /><br />The need here is so great, so we'll continue to raise our goal as the campaign continues.<br /><br />For resources, guidance, or more information, please visit: <a href="http://www.timesupnow.com/" target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">http://www.timesupnow.com/</a>

My heart goes out to all of his friends and family but those most on my mind right now are his beautiful wife, Juliann, and children, Clementine and Woolsey, who lost a husband, father and provider much too early. No amount of money can ever make this painful time easier but I think a little cushion while they are in the earliest stages of grieving would be meaningful and helpful. Please consider donating any amount in remembrance of Charlie.<br> <br>This is a photo of Juliann, Charlie and Clementine at my wedding in 2008. Even Charlie's way of sitting was that of a gentleman.
