Help Crystal Focus on Healing and Art Work! Amazing friend, artsy sister and overall wonderful human Crystal Hernandez was recently involved in an accident with a car while riding her bicycle, leaving her with a fractured clavicle and other injuries. Good news: she’s ok and on her way to healing! Less-good news: She is having surgery this week to repair the fracture with hardware, and she will require 6 to 8 weeks to recover.

Unlike people with paid medical leave, Crystal is an artist and gig worker. She pieces together six or seven different jobs every week, all of which require physical labor. With her non-dominant arm immobilized with a serious shoulder injury, she's simply unable to do the work that pays her bills. Right now, her priority needs to be healing – not worrying about rent, groceries, and other everyday expenses. Her injury requires her to be extremely careful how she moves during her recovery.

We're hoping to raise funds to help replace lost income, cover essential living expenses, and give her the financial breathing room to focus on getting better. If her recovery is shorter than expected, any remaining funds will cover rehabilitation and medical costs. Every donation, no matter the amount, makes a big difference.
