<div>Hello,
</div>
<div>I'm Sandy Ganzer and I'm raising funds for my father, Jim Ganzer and my stepmother, Louise, who lost their house in the devastating Palisades fire. My father owned the house since the 1980's. It was the home that I grew up in, the home I raised my own son in, and the source of countless formative memories.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>It is hard to understate what they've lost. The house and Jim's work studio were both completely leveled, taking everything they owned with it. They left in such a hurry even essential items like Louise's purse, the deed to the house, and their passports were left behind. The time and cost of replacing these items is immense, and on top of that they have to try support themselves while trying to figure out a long term living situation.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Jim is a retired artist, too old to work, and even suffered a stroke just last month.
</div>
<div>Louise is still working but has to put her money towards the mortgage on the house - which they are expected to continue paying despite it no longer standing.
</div>
<div> These funds will go directly to Jim and Louise to support them in any unmet needs not covered by other disaster relief aid. We thank you so very much for any help you can lend
</div>
<div>Additional funds will be allocated to my son JJ, who lost his car in the fire.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Jim has been an icon of Los Angeles Surfer culture since the 1960's. With his sly charisma and humor, he endeared himself to many in the entertainment industry. His friendship with screenwriter John Miliuis helped served as an inspiration for the Cohen Brothers' film "The Big Lebowski"
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Please help my father, a staple of LA counter-culture, and my family during these difficult times.

<div>“Before reading the words I wrote below (written on the morning of January 8th), please note that we were dropped from our Liberty Mutual insurance policy in May of 2024. We were dropped because they pulled out of California on most of their commercial policies. We shopped for another policy, however, we couldn’t find anything that wouldn’t have put us out of business in less than 3 months (any new policy was going to be 20x the cost of the one we initially had)”
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>My name is Kevin Hockin, and I have been a resident of this community for 11 years. My wife &amp; I, along with our 7-year-old daughter, have loved being a part of this neighborhood and bringing something that started as a pandemic project to a full-blown brick-n-mortar concept that people appreciate.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Our whole neighborhood burned to the ground today. This is our community hub and pizza/coffee sanctuary. We have customers that have a standing order every week, same day, same time, for years. Not kidding. We have a cellphone, so when you call us and we are on the other line, we call you back. HAHAHA! Have you ever had a pizzeria call you back to take your order? We give your dog treats. If you have kids and I'm working, I'm probably giving them free fancy lollipops imported from France or free stickers. We are that kind of joint...a real neighborhood spot. I bet I know 90% of our regulars' dogs' names...we are that place.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We have had artists such as Dawes, White Denim, Tapers Choice, Richards Pictures, Tommy Brenneck perform here FOR FREE. I have always been willing to pay those artists OUT OF POCKET, along with all associated production costs, sound, etc., and charge NO COVER. WHY? Because I love this community and didn't want to put financial pressure on anyone. It seemed like the right thing to do. I turned a shitty loading dock into what I saw as a beautiful "backyard stage" of local talent.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We have shipped merch all over the world. Like, lots of it. We've been to Tokyo and seen people walking the streets wearing Side Pie shirts. It's surreal. All from what started in my side yard in the pandemic as a project to give back to the community.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Now, I, along with 14 other friends (I hate the word employees, and everyone I employ IS a friend) are out of jobs. For how long? Who knows. A long time. Too long to keep my head on straight and not fear for my family. We have bills. We have financial responsibilities. And this is scary stuff.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you've gotten this far...yes, we need money. No joke.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Please, for the love of pizza and good times, HELP US.</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you,
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Kevin, Rosanna, and the beautiful Side Pie Mountain Family.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>P.S. If you are our neighbor, friend, customer, dentist, cheese distributor, etc., and you just lost your house, business, pet, etc., please know you're in our thoughts and we have an ever-standing vigil inside ourselves for you and the community. You can disregard any of this message, as we want/expect nothing from you.

<div>Dear Friends, Family, and Community,

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>We’re reaching out with humble hearts to ask for your support during a challenging time. Recently, <strong>Dustin experienced a sudden and serious medical event, a stroke, requiring a four-day hospital stay, including two days in the ICU.</strong> As part of his care, a Loop Monitor was implanted to monitor his heart rate moving forward.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Dustin is someone who is always generous with his knowledge, time, and energy, never hesitating to lend a hand to those in need. Asking for help is not something he would ever do unless absolutely necessary, and yet, the unexpected medical expenses — including co-pays, deductibles, and other costs not covered by insurance — have placed a significant financial burden on us.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>We are turning to our friends &amp; community for assistance. <strong>Every contribution, no matter the amount, will go directly toward alleviating these medical expenses and ensuring Dustin can focus on recovery and healing without the added stress of financial strain.</strong>

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Your kindness and generosity mean the world to us, and we are incredibly grateful for any help you can provide. If you’re unable to contribute financially, sharing this campaign with your network would be a wonderful way to support us.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being there for us during this difficult time. Your love and support remind us that we are not alone, and we are endlessly grateful for our friends, family, and this incredible community.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>With deepest gratitude,

</div>

Help Us Offset Medical Expenses for Dustin

<div>This is a fundraiser for my mom, Ruthann. Doctors recently diagnosed her with breast cancer. She goes into surgery September 16th. They feel highly optimistic that the removal will be a success and she will heal up just fine.
</div>
<div> So Im trying to stay positive and not freak out that my mom has cancer.
</div>
<div> Now im just looking for ways to help, as Im not able to travel to help with post-surgery care.
</div>
<div>Providing financial peace of mind is one way.
</div>
<div>My mom lives pretty hand to mouth and this surgery and healing time will prevent her from working, and would inevitably cause a lot of stress- not good for someone healing from a surgery and potential chemo.
</div>
<div>Money raised here will be sent to her to cover bills and medical expenses.
</div>
<div>I know its a crazy time to ask for anything considering the state of the world, but if you can spare anything please consider contributing to my mom's healing.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>thanks so much for considering.
</div>

Help my mom with post-surgery recovery costs

<div>In mid-February, Christina and Roger received the dreaded news that no parent wants to hear: their four-year-old daughter, Isabella (Izzie), has Acute T-Cell Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Those that know Izzie, know that she is a smart, energetic, sassy little girl that lights up any room that she enters! She keeps everyone on her toes (including the doctors and nurses that tend to her at CHOP!).
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Fortunately, with a team of incredible doctors and nurses, her brave and loving parents and grandparents, and Izzie's fierce warrior spirit, Izzie is responding well to her treatments and has been able to return home to continue her battle.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>However, her journey is far from over. Over the next several months, Izzie will be back and forth between home, doctors' offices, and CHOP. As the medical bills begin to roll in, Roger and Christina will both have to step away from work to focus on their most valuable treasure. Christina will be forced to take unpaid leave, and she will need to pay into the family’s health insurance to keep it. Due to Izzie’s condition, she isn’t able to attend school, and if Roger doesn’t work, he doesn’t earn pay.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Donations will help with the mortgage, and health insurance, and help Roger not have to choose between work or going in and helping Christina with doctor appointments, treatments, and caring for Izzie. We hope you will join us in our mission to support them in the most helpful way we can. Please donate to help relieve our friends of this financial burden so that they can focus on what is truly important.

Help Izzie and Family Battle the Storm

<div>Tim had a heart attack last night, and required bypass surgery. He will be down for a few months and can use all the help he can get to get through!
</div>

<div><br />The funds will be deposited into the account of Genevieve Stanfield (close friend) of Toledo and transferred to Tim as soon as he’s out of hospital and we can get his account details sorted. The money will be used to help Tim with rent, expenses and hospital bills, as it’s predicted by his surgeon that he won’t be able to work for 4-6 months.

<div>Six-year-old Ollie lost his mother and father this month, both to Covid-19. In addition to this unimaginable loss, Ollie has severe autism and is non-verbal, requiring extra special, around-the-clock attention and care. All proceeds of this GoFundMe will go directly to Ollie's grandmother/caretaker and Ollie, with the hopes of relieving some financial stress for the family during this incredibly challenging transitional period. Our goal is to help Ollie's caretaker focus on utilizing whatever resources are available for this family to begin to heal, giving Ollie the best chance possible at a bright future.

<p>As many of you know, Whitney Isetta has recently lost her house in a fire. You probably also know that she recently lost her mother to cancer. It is very early and hard to know what her family will need, but I know Whitney has an army of loved-ones who want to help her.

Help  Whitney Isetta’s family

Joel Kvernmo is a father, husband, business owner, and all-around good guy living in Los Angeles with his wife, Rosanna, and their daughter Judith, born in January of this year.<br />Anyone who knows Joel has a story to tell about his generosity and sense of humor. Here is a guy who has enthusiastically shown you around Shorthand (the shop he and Rosanna own in Highland Park), welcomed you into his house for a meal, made you a carefully crafted cocktail at a backyard barbeque, lent you a hand and his expertise to troubleshoot a particularly tricky project - all with a smile and a quick wit. <br />And now, the hard part. Joel was recently diagnosed with a Grade III Glioma Anaplastic Astrocytoma, after undergoing brain surgery on May 4th to remove a tumor found earlier this spring. In true Joel style, he's been updating friends and family via his Brain Tumor Gazette (you can catch up and subscribe <a href="http://joelkvernmo.com/brain_tumor">here</a>  if you're so inclined).<br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/29472836_1528746554293764_r.jpeg" alt="29472836_1528746554293764_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" />At the moment, we know very little about what is ahead for him and his family, but what we do know is that he begins radiation and chemotherapy on June 12th. Fortunately, this treatment is mostly covered by insurance. Unfortunately, there are many expenses and hardships ahead for the Kvernmos, and this fundraiser is an effort to offset some of those expenses - specifically, the out of pocket medical costs and loss of work as both he and Rosanna focus on his health in the coming year.  <br />We've set up this campaign to offer some stationery themed treats to you in exchange for a donation to the Kvernmo family, including greeting cards from some of our stationery buds, and special edition Shorthand notebooks (see photo below). If you would prefer to just donate without receiving your gift, simply refrain from providing your mailing address. We'll be in touch after you complete your donation to determine which Shorthand option you'd like (notebook, task pad, or memo pad). Thank you for your help, every donation is so appreciated!<br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/29472836_1528746813120415_r.jpeg" alt="29472836_1528746813120415_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" />

<br />We, the Maplewood Arts Council, are working to bring the immense creative energy of our community back to the Maplewood station tunnels. We'll soon ask local artists to submit proposals for works of art on these walls and beautify the station once again!<br /><br />As the official arts advisory committee to the Township of Maplewood, we are working closely with NJ Transit, and Maplewood officials, to make this happen. But – for this project to succeed — we also need your help.<br /><br />We’re raising $10,000 to complete this project – which includes the main tunnel at the station. Funding will go towards paying artists for their work, as well as for materials and installation.<br /><br />This project will only happen with money donated by individuals like you: proud Maplewoodians who value the arts. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation of any amount. From $20 to $100 to $1,000! Every little bit helps us get to our goal!<br /> <br />A community that supports artists is something to be cherished. Let’s<br />work together to create something we can all feel proud of.<br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/35433196_1545235296621364_r.jpeg" alt="35433196_1545235296621364_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" />

LAND AND SEA 2018 PROGRAMMING

Jon Bunch left this earth too soon. With his voice and his positivity, he left an indelible impression on everyone he met or played for, including me. The outpouring of sadness and support for Jon on Facebook and other channels from around the world has been overwhelming. I am lucky to have been blessed with Jon's friendship for so many years and want to do whatever I can to help wherever its needed most.<br /><br />Jon has a 12-year old son, Jack, that he would have loved to see go to college. This fund is being established with the future cost of Jack's higher learning as its primary objective. Second, Jon's family will need assistance with funeral-related expenses. Finally, Jon's mother conveyed that her son always had a passion for helping kids in need and so a portion of the proceeds will be allocated to a children's charity of the family's choosing.<br /><br />Any amount you can offer is greatly appreciated and will be put to use toward the above three goals. Additionally, several of us are in the early stages of planning several music-related benefit events in Jon's memory, which will hopefully ease his family's burden somewhat at least financially. <br /><br />Thank you in advance for your love and support.<br /><br />Casey Jones

Cancer is  not a word any parent likes to think about, but this dirty disease has recently been on a lot of our minds. As many of you may know, sweet Sofia Anderson, 2 year old daughter of Patrick and Catalina Anderson has been diagnosed with stage 3 neuroblastoma. They are such a strong family, but they have a long road ahead of them. They will be recieving chemotherapy at All Children's  Hospital in St Pete, where they are currently staying.  It is an incredibly heart-wrenching experience to have to watch your child go through any pain, much less being told they will have to battle the big C.  Cat and Pat have touched so many of our lives with their kindness and friendship. I know many people have been asking how they can help. Staying in the hospital for such a long time is not only  emotionally exhausting but also financially draining. Any donations towards little Sofia's care would be greatly appreciated.
