Please Help My Daughter

In June of this year, Jimmy C. had a medical emergency. Living with his elder parents to help with their care, Jimmy’s diabetes took a turn for the worse. Hospitalized with a coma, he had to lose his right leg to save his life. Now in rehabilitation, Jimmy is preparing to return home but needs modifications to make it handicap accessible. Jimmy, who has helped so many people, now needs your help.  Jimmy and his parents would be so very grateful. Our goal is to install a wheelchair ramp for Jimmy to enter his home which has four steps, also redo his bathroom by adding a handicap accessible shower and swinging chair into and out of the  shower.  Any help you can give would be truly appreciated.

There are not many times in your life you are blessed to meet a person that changes your life. So it must be a miracle that we have all had our lives changed by one person; and that is Ruby.  She has a way of changing the air in a room when she walks in. She brings joy and laughter and a sense of belonging to all that she meets. When she met William we all saw how they transformed each other to form a beautiful partnership. Ruby and her family travelled here from Pakistan knowing nobody and built a life for themselves through hard work, family, and their church. They gave themselves tirelessly despite the trauma and injustices of starting a life all over in a new land and never once asked for anything in return. Ruby had wanted to be a nurse her whole life and she battled through many years of studying to make that dream come true despite having to pause her studies several times to nurse her dear mother, Josephine, through cancer treatments. She persevered like no other warrior - studying through the night at her mom's bedside in the hospital while working and going to school. Losing her mom was like losing her best friend and would have broken many of us; but she kept moving forward with William by her side to graduation and her dream came true when she became a Registered Nurse. Since their wedding day in 2013, William and Ruby have dreamt of becoming parents but struggled endlessly with fertility issues secondary to severe endometriosis and PCOS. They have tried so many avenues and suffered so many heartbreaks that IVF is their last hope. As we all know, the cost of IVF is prohibitive and not covered at all by insurance but they didn't let that stop them from planning and wishing and hoping. In fact, it made Ruby even more determined when, as an essential worker, she put her life on the line every day working overtime with COVID patients to bring them care, comfort, and her special kind of joy in their darkest days. All the while, she would squirrel away what she could to fund their IVF treatment. Life has dealt Ruby and William some major financial blows this week and taken almost all of that very hard earned fund; this is where we can step in. They say it takes a village to raise a child and in this case, it may take a village to bring this child into the world.  Ruby and William have touched so many of our hearts and lives and we all have so many special memories with them. Be it raising a smile during a difficult day, dropping everything to be by your side, planning a shower, sewing a seam on your wedding day, giving you strength on a tough shift and for many of us, showering our children with their love.  We know that these are tough financial times for us all and Ruby and William would never ask for help. We as their friends are asking that if you feel drawn to showering them with some love, then please give what you can. It Takes A Village - Ruby & William's IVF Journey

As many of you know Bruce and Linda's son Jonathan was involved in a horrific motor vehicle accident Sunday evening.  He is currently in the ICU in critical condition.  Unfortunately his prognosis for recovery is poor.   This is never something a family plans for.   This fund has been created to help ease the financial burden that such a tragedy can create, so that Bruce and Linda can focus on Jonathan and their daughter Julia.  Whatever donation you can give is so appreciated.

Hello everyone, my name is Danny Boy O'Connor. I am one of the founding members of the Hip-Hop group, House of Pain, as well as a collective of urban explorers known as the Delta Bravo Urban Exploration Team.  Those who know me know that I'm one of the biggest fans of S.E. Hinton's book and Francis Ford Coppola's adaptation of The Outsiders. It was in 2009 when I ended up in Tulsa on tour and made my first pilgrimage to the actual house, better known to fans as "The Curtis Brothers house," that was used in the filming of the 1983 movie. Located at 731 N. St Louis, Tulsa, OK, I was amazed and equally disturbed by the deteriorating condition of the historic house. I thought to myself, Why hasn't anyone stepped in to save this place?  And why doesn't someone restore it and turn it into an Outsiders museum or something?   Well, it's 2016 and we felt the time is now to step in as buyers before it fell into further disrepair and perhaps eventual demolition. Just this week we got a small group of friends together and purchased the house, but the battle is far from over. Unfortunately, the home is in extremely poor condition but there is hope and that's where you come in. We're in dire need of financial support from you, the fan of The Outsiders, to make this a reality. Now that we purchased the Curtis’ home we need you to help finance the total restoration of this historic house to its authentic movie condition and turn it into the first ever museum dedicated solely to The Outsiders. As you can see by the photos, the house will need to be completely restored and remodeled carefully without losing it’s beautiful “Greaser” charm while also updating the home to modern standards. Once restored, we plan to open the house to the public and showcase our extensive "Outsiders" collection as a pop culture museum.    With your help, we can save this amazing piece of iconic American film history for future generations of fans to discover and enjoy.
