What Harmony cares about

Arts & Culture
At Harmony Studios, our mission has always been to ensure that no child is ever turned away from the arts because of a price tag. We believe theater is a place where every child should have the chance to find their voice and their community. A Special Need This Summer While we receive several requests for financial aid each year, there is one 11-year-old student this summer whose story has truly touched my heart. Over the past year, she has faced unimaginable loss—first losing her grandmother, who was her primary caregiver, and just days ago, losing her biological mother. In the midst of this heartbreaking transition, she is looking for a place to heal and connect. She wants to be part of our theater family this summer. My immediate goal is to raise $325 to cover her full tuition, ensuring she can join us without any financial burden on her guardians during this difficult time. Building a "Village" for All Our Students This specific girl isn't the only one hoping for a chance to take the stage. We are seeing an increase in families requesting scholarships so their children can participate in the magic of theater camp. Because of this, I am inviting you to help us build the "Harmony Heart" scholarship fund. • The first $325 raised will go directly to sponsoring our 11-year-old student in crisis. • Any funds raised beyond that will be used to provide partial or full scholarships for other kids on our waiting list who are eager to learn, grow, and perform. How You Can Help Whether you can give $10, $50, or the cost of a full tuition, you are doing more than just paying for a camp—you are investing in a child’s confidence and providing a safe haven for them to grow. Let’s show these kids that they have a whole community behind them. Thank you for being part of the Harmony Studios village and for helping me make sure that every child who wants to participate has a seat at the table (and a spot in the spotlight!
Harmony Studios presents THEATER CAMP! A single gift can open the door for a child to discover their voice, their courage, and their place in the world. If you’ve ever believed in the power of the arts to change lives, this is your chance to be part of that story. Help send a child to theater camp this summer. Support Harmony Studios. And help the next generation step into the spotlight.

For those who have been asking, we wanted to share an update on our girl, Temperance (with her permission, of course). As many of you know, Temperance has been at DC Children’s Hospital for nearly three weeks now facing a significant health crisis. While we are seeing glimpses of her beautiful spirit again, the reality is that her stay will be indefinite as we navigate her recovery. She has a long road ahead of her. Tempe is the heart of our community, and she has given us permission to share this because she knows we need our village now more than ever. Between the 24/7 care she needs, the 60-member cast of The Music Man entering tech week, and the constant commute to DC, our family is feeling the strain. The "hidden" costs of a long-term hospital stay are overwhelming. We have set up a GoFundMe to help Temperance cover: • Her missed wages while she is unable to work. • Daily travel costs ($20/day parking and gas for the commute for us). • Immediate household needs to ensure her home is stable and ready for her whenever she can return, but also to help support us and her siblings as we are just treading water right now. I often say that Tempie is the George Bailey of this town. She is loved by everyone and she loves fiercely. Tempie has always given herself to everyone and is now in a place where she could use help herself. Visits, notes, and prayers are just as good as money, so anything you can do at all is going to be appreciated. We know that in this town, 'no man is a failure who has friends.' Thank you for being the friends and family Temperance needs right now.
