<div>Anyone who goes out in NYC knows Michael Warrell, one of the bartender/managers at REBAR Chelsea. Michael has been a a part of our community for over a decade having been with G Lounge and Industry in the past and after years of serving us, he now needs our help.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Michael has been managing Type 1 Diabetes for many years, which greatly effects his immune system, and he has been fighting hard to overcome complications with this condition and recently has been losing that fight.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>On Nov. 21, Michael went to the ER with a severe case of necrotizing pneumonia. The doctors told him that if he had waited another two days to come to the hospital, he likely would not have survived.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Over the next several weeks, he had four chest tubes placed and underwent a six-hour open lung surgery to drain several liters of fluid, clear out abscesses, and free healthy lung tissue from necrotic tissue.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>His surgeon said this was one of the worst pulmonary infections he has ever seen, and he had never before encountered what he saw in Michael's lungs.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thankfully, the surgery went well, and Michael is on his way to recovery. However, he was in the hospital all the way until Dec. 21—a full month after he arrived.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>He is still on oxygen, is in a lot of pain despite strong pain meds, is very limited in his mobility, and is struggling with severe edema and other debilitating side effects of his intensive IV antibiotic therapy, which he will continue to undergo for the next six weeks.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Michael has already been out of work for some time and will likely be too ill to work for another couple of months. His needs both during and after his hospital stay have placed a huge financial burden on him.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Any donation at all would be so appreciated. Money from this GoFundMe will help Michael cover his rent, bills, food, medications, pain management, and costs associated with his chronic healthcare needs for type 1 diabetes.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you can afford to give a little, it would make a huge difference to Michael! ❤️
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>*edit: goal amount was changed after learning Michael would be likely out of work for a longer amount of time due to his prolonged recovery time.*

<div><br />
</div>
<div>Hi everyone, Thanks to the incredible support of my family and friends, we made it out of homelessness. We are back on our feet with a stable place to live. I am deeply grateful to everyone who helped us through our dark chapter.
</div>
<div>Now, I am ready for the next step: getting back to work and regaining my independence.
</div>
<div>As many of you know I used to run regular delivery routes-working hard 5 to 6 days a week to keep things moving. Unfortunately, during our desperate times I lost my trusted vehicle in an accident which brought my work to a halt.
</div>
<div><br />

<div><br />
</div>
<div>I am looking to get back behind the wheel of a reliable, classic 80s or 90s American station wagon (like my old Setup) that I can service and maintain on my own. These older wagons are built like tanks, give me the cargo space I need, and allow me to handle light repairs myself so I can get back out on the road doing local transport and delivery work on my own terms.
</div>
<div>To make this happen, I am raising funds to cover:
</div>
<ul>
<li>finding and purchasing a road-ready wagon
</li>
<li>initial registration and insurance fees
</li>
<li>Getting my old routine back so I can support myself and contribute more steadily
</li>
</ul>
<div>Any contribution-or even just sharing this link with someone who might want to help -means the world to me. Thank you for standing by me as I build this next chapter.
