<div>Anyone who goes out in NYC knows Michael Warrell, one of the bartender/managers at REBAR Chelsea. Michael has been a a part of our community for over a decade having been with G Lounge and Industry in the past and after years of serving us, he now needs our help.

<div>Michael has been managing Type 1 Diabetes for many years, which greatly effects his immune system, and he has been fighting hard to overcome complications with this condition and recently has been losing that fight.
</div>

<div>On Nov. 21, Michael went to the ER with a severe case of necrotizing pneumonia. The doctors told him that if he had waited another two days to come to the hospital, he likely would not have survived.
</div>

</div>
<div>Over the next several weeks, he had four chest tubes placed and underwent a six-hour open lung surgery to drain several liters of fluid, clear out abscesses, and free healthy lung tissue from necrotic tissue.
</div>

</div>
<div>His surgeon said this was one of the worst pulmonary infections he has ever seen, and he had never before encountered what he saw in Michael's lungs.
</div>

<div>Thankfully, the surgery went well, and Michael is on his way to recovery. However, he was in the hospital all the way until Dec. 21—a full month after he arrived.
</div>

</div>
<div>He is still on oxygen, is in a lot of pain despite strong pain meds, is very limited in his mobility, and is struggling with severe edema and other debilitating side effects of his intensive IV antibiotic therapy, which he will continue to undergo for the next six weeks.
</div>

<div>Michael has already been out of work for some time and will likely be too ill to work for another couple of months. His needs both during and after his hospital stay have placed a huge financial burden on him.
</div>

<div>HELLO, we are now changing this fundraiser toa plea for help. we lost our home about 6 months ago along with the means for keeping a place for about 4 months.  We are going day to day at a motel in ElmsfordNY and in need of help. we are looking for a new apt. between 2000 and 2550 a month. we have secured funds through social services to pay first, last and fees with a signed lease.

<div>Right now because of our credit situation and lack of savings we are constantly told no for apts. we could afford. Our credit is bad and a bankruptcy, but is discharged and we are working.  Averaging a yearly income of about 79,000.  I have constant social security coming in and we get disability for our autistic son and our oldest is working at night.
