<div>Jamie was an adoring husband to Kelly, and he, in turn, was the love of her life. After meeting on the set of "Without A Trace", they were together for 15 years. Though they'd already shared a child, a dog, and a mortgage for almost two decades, they finally made it "official" 18 months ago, tying the knot in Vegas the day after Christmas, 2024.

<div>Like many in the film industry, the last several years have been extremely difficult for Jamie and Kelly, with long stretches of unemployment, which depleted their life's savings. During this time, Kelly was also diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent chemotherapy and radiation. Throughout, Jamie was the rock that kept both Kelly and Mackenzie on steady ground.

<div>Recently, things were looking up. Kelly completed cancer treatment, and Jamie had found a great job working on "The Night Agent" that would get them back on their feet and allow them to stay in their home so Mackenzie could go to middle school with her lifelong friends.

<div>Jamie's sudden and unexpected death is a devastating blow to a family that has already been through so much in the last few years. This tragedy has left Kelly and Mackenzie without their rock, and without their family's sole breadwinner.

<div>We are hoping to raise enough funds to cover immediate costs and see them through the next 6 months, so Kelly can cover her bills as she continues to look for work while adjusting to life as a solo parent to their daughter. Most importantly, we hope to give them some breathing room as they grieve the man they adored.

Support for The Bresnitz Family's Fire Recovery

<div>Hey all, Jessica here. You might know me from work, maybe from college or from way before that in Pennsylvania. I’m a proud member of Teamsters Local 399 working as a Key Assistant Location Manager in the television and film industry.
</div>

<div>On May 31st, <strong>I was diagnosed with lung cancer</strong> and this has turned everything in my life upside down. I already live with systemic scleroderma, an autoimmune disease that affects the skin and connective tissue of the body. In my case, I also have an interstitial lung disease known as pulmonary fibrosis (scarring in my lungs). Lung cancer on top of an already existing lung disease will prove challenging to treat. The cancer is located in my lower right lobe, the same area where most of the fibrosis is, and this will make surgery tricky. To make sure they get all the cancer, my surgeon may have to remove my entire lower right lobe.
</div>

</div>
<div>This diagnosis comes on the heels of what might be the most difficult year of my life. The dual entertainment industry strikes of 2023 forced me to give up my apartment and move to Florida for six months to live with my dad. I returned to Los Angeles this past spring to get back to work and restart my life here. However, finding stable work has been challenging, as the industry is still recovering and jobs are few and far between. I’d been subletting a room and as that comes to an end, finding housing is also proving to be a challenge. What I want most is my own place again - a calm retreat where I can heal, with my sweet cat Lola Bean by my side.

<div>The emotional and financial strain of the whole situation has been completely overwhelming. Thanks to my union I have wonderful health insurance and I’m so thankful. That seems like the one thing I haven’t stressed about.

However, I know that I have a strong community of friends around me, and if there’s ever a time to ask for help, that time for me is now. Anna was tragically taken from us on Sunday September 18th from a severely unfortunate and devastating hit-and-run car accident just outside of her daughter’s home while preparing to take her grandchildren to the park. Anna was a bright spark in this world and will be deeply missed. She touched the lives of so many and it’s our turn to give back to her family in their time of need. <p>My name is Magna Elmendorf and I'm reaching out because my fabulous sister, Michelle Latham, needs our help. Michelle recently went to the ER due to massive hemorrhaging and very severe edema. Among other things, she was down 5 pints of blood. Yes, I realize most people would be dead after losing 70% of their blood, but most who know her have figured out that Michelle not your average person. She survived.
</p>

<p>She may be a near medical miracle in this case, but it winds up <strong>Michelle was diagnosed with stage 3B cervical carcinoma (a type of cancer), which for her includes a nearly 11 cm, grapefruit sized tumor sitting at the top of her cervix and pressing into her abdomen. At this point the cancer has spread into her bladder and the lymph nodes closest to her uterus as well as the area in her pelvis surrounding the tumor, but has not metastasized to other parts of her body. Because of the tumor's size and the fact it's wrapped around the other organs, it's inoperable. The radiation treatments are going to do all of the work to get rid of the tumor, along with weekly chemotherapy which will act as a "booster". </strong>
</p>

<p>While she is fortunate to have medical insurance, the cost of fighting cancer is still expensive. Michelle is going into treatment on July 19th with a physical deficit -- a number of her bodily functions have been compromised as so much of her body's energy has gone to fighting cancer. That said, between the treatment and rebuilding her health, it's become clear that she will not be able to return to work through the rest of this year at the very least.
</p>

</p>

<p><strong>The goal is to raise $30k to help Michelle with her medical and related expenses while she fights cervical cancer -- so that she doesn't have another thing worry about.</strong> Stress is not anyone's friend, especially when they're fighting cancer, and we want to alleviate any stresses we can for her so that she can focus on her recovery.
</p>

<p>Michelle is one of the strongest people I know. I picked the photo of her filming on location because I think it represents the powerful woman that she is -- one who thrives when she's in control. And the only way for Michelle to get control over this cancer is to give up her control, in this case to her trusted medical and oncology teams. This is a lot of trust to give blindly, but she has assembled a stellar team of oncologists at Cedars Sinai and we feel very good about them.
</p>

<p>My sister is badass! Michelle is a beautiful human being , the best sister and friend I could ask for, a savior to the countless creatures she's fostered and owned, a mentor to numerous colleagues and friends, one of the funniest people I know -- and this is just the tip of the complimentary iceberg. You can bet that her wicked humor will be present during the treatment process (google brachytherapy for a sick laugh, her final treatment, which sounds downright barbaric), but we all know that cancer is no joke. F*ck cancer...and here's to Michelle's successful treatment!

Help Michelle Latham fight cervical cancer!

On Monday November 26, 2018 our Dad, David Sartor, had an unexpected massive stroke that will change his life forever.   David will endure months of rehab and will need round the clock care. <br />He retired in 2016 from the USPS and is an avid sportsman who enjoyed coaching, reffing and helping with the clocks and scores of the high school and college games. He was very active in his children’s lifes as well as his grandchildren’s. <br />We set up this account to help ease the worry for both of our parents with the medical bills as my mom will have to take time off to help take care of him and we do not know what the outcome will be! <br /><br />Thank you so much!<br /><br />Sartor Family

In celebration of his 54th birthday, Joe travelled to Argentina to experience and document the beautiful country with his camera, his third eye. On Friday 12/08/17, while taking photos along the streets of Buenos Aires, he was attacked by two men attempting to rob him. The assailants were ruthless, stabbing Joe 10 times with wounds to the chest, puncturing his heart and lung. Miraculously, a plain-clothes officer nearby was able to shoot and apprehend one of the criminals, and instantly called an ambulance to rush Joe to a nearby hospital where he underwent immediate surgery. The surgeon who was on-call is one of the best in the country, and was successful in saving Joe despite the severe trauma. Stable but still in a coma, the prognosis was reserved that Joe would make it, with the organ failure and infection atop the list of the numerous risks to his life. And yet, just days after the attack, Joe was brought out of his coma and was able to open his eyes and offer his indelible smile.<br /><br />As he continues to improve day by day, the focus now shifts to the future and his recovery. Although his healthcare in Buenos Aires is covered as part of Argentinian national healthcare coverage, he still faces ongoing medical care expenses, travel costs and loss of work, a financial hardship that this fund hopes to alleviate.<br /><br />The very fact that Joe is alive is truly a miracle, and we are all so lucky that he has been given a second chance. As a husband, as a father, as a brother, uncle, friend, neighbour, photographer, he will continue to express and spread his beautiful perspective on the world and life. <div><strong>Russ Fega and his wife Chris started Home Shoot Home back in 2003</strong> as a way of bringing filming to their Altadena neighbors. As some of you know, Russ was a location manager until his retirement several years ago. He was also a founding member of the <a href="https://locationmanagers.org/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Location Managers Guild of America</a> (LMGI). Russ has advocated heavily for filming in the various communities they represent, helping to change some regulations in South Pasadena, Sierra Madre and Pasadena. <em>Russ and Chris personally invested thousands of dollars to create the Altadena Community Chest, which distributed more than $40,000 to Altadena-based charitable organizations during its tenure.</em>

<div>Additionally, through their efforts, many homeowners in Altadena were able to put their children through school and on to college and even help them stay in their homes when tough times hit. Currently, they are helping many of their homeowners by supplying detailed photos of their properties for insurance and personal reasons.

<div>Unfortunately, these are now tough times for Home Shoot Home as its inventory of homes in Altadena has been decimated by the fires. Even though they continue to represent homes in other cities, Altadena has been their focus and their home. It is difficult for them to ask for help when so many others have suffered personal losses as well, but if ever there was a time to reach out to the community for assistance, this is it. They’d like to look forward to bringing back filming to some of the wonderful places that still exist in Altadena, as well as those that will inevitably spring up in the coming months and years.
