<div>Maurice Moore was abused in a Charlotte Nursing Home called White Oak Mannor. He has been moved to a new facility but the damage is done.  There is nothing more the doctors can do to reverse or fix the injuries. Maurice will sucum soon. The go fund me is for his medical bills and to keep him safe and happy untill he passes. Any remaining funds will help with his funeral expenses when the time comes. Maurice was in the army Intelligence and speaks 5 languages. Maurice was in the top 10% in physical training in the army. Maurice is a 10th degree Grand Master in Shotokan Karate. He taught martial arts for over 55 years in Lincolnton NC. Maurice was also a pro boxer in the military. He is a loving father and husband. Maurice deserves to finish out his remaining time with his family in a safe environment. He has accomplished so much in his life time and has given selfless to everyone he has met. Maurice has been active in changing lives in the youth and his community in Lincolnton NC for over 40 years. He is in multiple Martial Arts Hall of Fames as well as The Lincoln County Sports Hall of Fame. He has changed the face of Martial Arts in his community and beyond. He never met a stranger. Funeral Expenses for Kathryn

<div>Almost two weeks ago, my Aunt Lori (read that as best friend, sister-at-heart) was in a terrible accident with her granddaughter. Her car was totaled when she was hit on the driver’s side. Both front and rear doors had to be cut away from the vehicle.

<div>Her granddaughter escaped with a bump and scratch on her head. Lori was not as lucky.

<div>Lori has multiple pelvis fractures, a fractured rib, lower back fractures and lacerations to her bladder and kidney. She had to have surgery on her bladder.

<div>She spent almost two weeks in the hospital. She is finally home, but that too isn’t without complications.
</div>
<div>She will be out of work for at least the rest of the year. And no one knows yet what her medical bills will look like. She has no health insurance, and according to what I read, car insurance in North Carolina only covers medical costs when you purchase an add-on (Seriously??).

<div>At the very least, she has nine months of everyday costs to cover, in addition to the multiple medications and medical equipment that needs to be purchased.

Dennis Spaur heart surgery

<p>My husband Matt Cornwell was hit by a car on his way home from work on June 30, 2021. He sustained a traumatic brain injury and multiple broken bones. He was taken to the emergency room, spent 15 days in ICU and several more days in the Neuro Ward at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane. He is now at St. Luke's Rehabilitation Institute. Matt is obviously not able to work right now and I am also unable to work as I stay by his side each day and keep up with our home. While we hope and pray for a full recovery, we are not sure what Matt's condition will be when he is released from the hospital. If friends and family wish to help with our expenses, we so appreciate it and are filled with gratitude.

<p>I start my days off by calling my mother every morning. She tells me what’s going on in current <br />events, and I tell her what’s going on in my world. The morning of August 20th I called my motherand thought it was strange when she didn’t pick up. I kept calling and by the third time, I was <br />shocked when a Detective answered her phone. My heart dropped and I fell to my knees when <br />the Detective told me there’s been a trouble accident and my mother, Sister and brother were <br />being rushed to the hospital. <br /> <br />When I arrived at the hospital, nothing could have prepared me for this moment. I was <br />devastated when the doctors told me my family is being treated for carbon monoxide. <br />My mother and sister were in a life threatening medical emergency and my brother wasn’t doing well. <br /> <br />A car was left running in the garage next door to my mother’s house. My family didn’t realize they were being poisoned as they slept through the night because carbon monoxide is a orderless and colorless gas. The effects of the dangerous concentrations of carbon monoxide left my mother<br />and Sister in critical condition. They both had to be airlifted out of state for an intense hyperbaric treatments in order for them to survive.
</p>

<p>My brother served in the army and made it back home to us safe but he couldn’t protect himself <br />from the deadly carbon monoxide gas. By the Grace of God, my brother was able to undergo his <br />treatment in GA and he’s recovering slowly. Unfortunately, we tried our best to save my mother’s dog but Simba died. My mother and sister still require 24 hour care and remain in ICU.<br /> <br />Never in my wildest dreams would I imagine something so horrible like this happening. Imagine   going to sleep and never waking up. I miss the simply things in life like calling my mother on the    phone or dropping her off some blueberries. <br /> <br />I am a single mother trying to navigate through this best way that I can. We are a family full of <br />pride, but this accident has forced me to ask for help. Funds are needed to cover their medical            expense and to restore their lives back  to normal.
</p>

To keep with our mission of "Giving back to those who are willing to give their all" our Organization is raising donations for the family of Sgt. Chris Ward, more specifically his children. In this moment of tragedy Back The Blue NC, Inc. Stand by ready to support the family in honor of Sgt. Ward's ultimate sacrifice. <br /><br />At a 13-hour stand-off at a residence in Boone, NC on April 28, 2021 Sgt. Ward was one of two officers shot by a barricaded suspect and unfortunately he succumbed to his injuries the same day after being air-lifted to a nearby hospital. He leaves behind a wife and two children. <br /><br />It is our intention to place funds raised into a trust fund for Sgt. Ward's children as we have previously done with fallen officers Deputy Hendrix and Deputy Allison and their respective children.

Robert Shook & James Lewis

Brandon and his family could use your help.  Their journey over the past decade has been a difficult one.  Brandon is 39, married to the love of his life, Jordan. They have a beautiful 9-year-old daughter.  <br /><br />Brandon was diagnosed in 2012 with Chondrosarcoma.  He was originally treated at Baptist in Winston Salem.  He was referred to Duke hospital after his illness progressed for further treatment.  This partially was an attempt to prevent amputation of his shoulder and arm.  Once he was evaluated at Duke, they found nodules in his lungs.  He underwent lung surgery.  May 2014, the time came when his shoulder and arm had to be amputated.  In 2015, the cancer returned to his lungs.  The doctors gave him a 2–3 year prognosis.  Without a doubt, Brandon's faith in God and the love for his family (and the love shown to him by his family) proved his prognosis to be incorrect.  However, he just finished what may be likely his last experimental treatment.  Sadly, the scans revealed no improvement.  <br /><br />To say the very least their medical expenses are astronomical.  <br /><br />Throughout this difficult time Brandon has used his cancer as a testament of his faith.    Brandon has spoken to many youth and church groups as well as prison ministries about God’s grace during his trials, the uncertainty of life and about grace. He has touched more lives in his 39 years than many of us will in a lifetime. He, Jordan, and their daughter have lived each day to the fullest, loved as fiercely as they have fought the cancer.  If you ever met Brandon or Jordan, you likely would not know the struggle they are enduring (unless they shared it with you).  Their faith, positivity and perseverance has been a blessing to so many.<br /><br />If you are able to contribute any amount to their fund it would be so very appreciated.  They have walked this path with amazing strength, blessing others by their example.  Please, if you can, be a blessing to them.<br /><br />Thank you.

Please assist the Lail's with financial assistance

Carter Alexander was born February 10th, 2021. Weighing only 1lb 3oz. He is the surviving twin to his brother Owen Clark who was born weighing only 375 grams. <br />During their last visit with his maternal fetal medicine team of doctors, their mother, Megan, was informed that she has signs of ttts (twin to twin transfusion syndrome) and preterm labor and was advised to take a flight from South Carolina to Houston Texas to try and have a laser surgery preformed to try and stop the ttts from progressing. She and their father took a flight less than 3 hours after the end of the doctor visit to try and get to Houston as quickly as possible. <br />Unfortunately during the flight Megan’s water broke and she had to be rushed to the hospital from the airplane. At the hospital they gave her medicine to try and help the babies grow and also to slow down labor from happening. The next day a specialist came to check on the babies and she was already dilated to 2cm and was told that there was nothing that could be done to stop the labor from happening. Within the next 2 hours both babies were born. Carter at 11:05am and Owen at 11:15am. <br />Owen was too small to try and be tubed and was brought back to his parents, where he spent his first and last 3 and a half hour with them.<br />Carter was immediately rushed away into the nicu and put on a ventilator and in a incubator. He was put on medicine to help control his blood pressure, his breathing, his oxygen levels, antibiotics, medicine to help his lungs develop, and has been given blood products and transfusions. His first night in the hospital he coded and had to be given cpr which resulted in major brain bleeding and his acid levels rising in his blood. <br />Carter is currently 5 days old and is doing as well as he can be. He has been taken off of the medicine to help regulate his blood pressure and his oxygen levels are going down little by little everyday. He had a head ultrasound done and it was determined that his bleeding on the brain was a stage 3 on one side and a stage 4 on the other. Which is the worst that you can get, and may result in him having developmental issues as he gets older. His acid levels have gone down as well. And he will be receiving another head ultrasound at 10 days of life to see how the bleeding around his head looks. <br />We are raising money to help cover Carter’s medical expenses as well as the expenses of having Megan in Houston with him while grows enough and gets stable enough to be able to go back home to South Carolina. It is expected that they will both be in Houston atleast until his original due date which is June 2nd, 2021<br />Any little bit helps and goes a long way. <br />Thank you and God Bless

</p><br />This is my cousins beautiful daughter 5 year old  Ariel Young. <img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/54435478_1612603354251886_r.jpeg" alt="54435478_1612603354251886_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" />A little after 9 pm Thursday night 5 year old Ariel, her mother, aunt and 4 year old cousin were out helping a family member who ran out of gas near I-435 and Stadium Drive. While helping her relative a Ram pickup truck driven by the <u>Kansas City Chiefs assistant coach Britt Reid <img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/54435478_1612678329571562_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" alt="54435478_1612678329571562_r.jpeg" /></u><br />crashed into the vehicles on the side of the road. Reid admitted to police officers that he had “two or three drinks” and was on prescription adderall. Ariel suffered swelling in and bleeding in and around the brain. She is in critical condition and hasn’t woken since the crash. Her cousin 4 year old, Julianna sustained a broken nose and concussion. Julianna is traumatized but now at home resting and healing from her injuries. <img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/54435478_161260340425742_r.jpeg" alt="54435478_161260340425742_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" />Ariel’s mother is a working mom with two other children, one of which is a baby that she also has to be away from. Ariel will be in the hospital for the foreseeable future, this page is set up for the hospital bills, weeks of missed work that will come and any other expenses this causes her. The last thing any mother dealing with something like this should have to worry about is the financials. No child deserves to go through this, nor should any mother have to see her child like this. Ariel(5yrs) critically hurt in suspected DUI crash

“It’s Your breath in our lungs. So we pour out our praise to You only.”<br /><br /><br />The Henley family comes from a small town in North Carolina. The family is composed of husband and wife AJ and Teresa, with two daughters, Bayleigh and Brooke. AJ and Teresa have both dedicated their careers to education. Bayleigh is currently in her final year at UNC Chapel Hill and Brooke just graduated high school in the midst of the pandemic in June 2020. She is pursuing her associate’s degree at Gaston Community College.<br /><br /><br />Their story starts two years ago when Teresa was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. After 18 months of chemotherapy, 3 intense surgeries, radiation treatment, and incredible perseverance, she was finally released by her surgeons with no post surgical restrictions in November 2020. <br /><br /><br />In the midst of all this, Teresa, AJ and Brooke came down with Covid-19 during the summer. Teresa and Brooke made a smooth and quick recovery from the virus, however it took a toll on AJ’s health. Covid-19 along with the underlying issue of interstitial lung disease, left AJ’s lungs operating at only 35% capacity. After some difficult conversations with various professionals and lung specialists, they broke the news that AJ would need a double lung transplant in order to fully recover and live a normal life again. He was in the top 10% of needing/receiving the transplant so we knew the process would be coming quickly. Additionally, AJ is UNC Health’s Transplant Center’s first COVID-19 double lung transplant patient. <br /><br /><br />In early January, while meeting with many doctors and planning for AJ’s future transplant, Teresa visited her primary doctor for a routine check up and for some concerns of a consistent cough. The doctor ordered a chest x-ray and referred her to her oncologist in Chapel Hill for further investigation. Various scans and tests would soon reveal the heartbreaking news that the cancer was back and had spread to her lungs.<br /><br /><br />With all the many upcoming specialist’s and doctor’s appointments between the couple, the family was forced to relocate to Chapel Hill where all of their ongoing appointments would be. The day they moved to Chapel Hill was the day they got the call that AJ’s transplant was a “GO!” Through a lot of prep, 8 hours of surgery and an incredible amount of love, support and prayers, the operation was a success and AJ is now in recovery. <br /><br /><br />The journey for the Henleys is far from over. With AJ in recovery and required to live near the transplant center for 3-6 months, Teresa about to start a second battle with cancer, and of course, the endless medical bills, the family continues to need financial and spiritual support. Due to the nature of their situation and having to move to Chapel Hill, they have accrued additional housing and utility expenses with their apartment in Chapel Hill while continuing to pay their mortgage and utilities on their house back in their hometown. From the very beginning, the Henleys have always put their trust in God and continuously said the motto, “God’s Got This” knowing He will always make a way. As a close family friend and fellow sister in Christ, I am asking for your prompt and generous support for this remarkable family. Healing the Henleys with a Helpful Heart

<p>If you are blessed to know Troy and Jeanne Smart, you probably have been on the receiving end of their generosity at some point in your life. Whether it’s been a bag of groceries dropped off at your door, materials purchased to fix a toilet or shower and the time and work put in to get things back and running, a gift or act of service at the perfect time, or something done “just because they knew you needed it,” this couple gives to others without a second thought. Troy worked for Bernhardt for decades, drives for MDI part-time and serves as a contract mail delivery truck driver for USPS. Troy loves to fish at Fort Caswell off the pier with his sons and grandsons, go hunting, support the effort to restore the Hildebran Bell Tower, and serve others. Jeanne has served in many nursing and administrative roles including at Caldwell County Hospice and Trinity Ridge, and is currently a nursing educator at an NC public school. She loves to spend time with family, cook and craft with her grandsons, and give back to others. Married for almost 35 years, Troy and Jeanne have given selflessly to friends, family, church family, and strangers in need for years. Now is our chance to give back!

<p><br />On Christmas Day 2020, Troy tested positive for COVID-19 with mild symptoms initially andJeanne tested positive several days later. They quarantined and treated symptoms at home, praying for a quick recovery. Unfortunately, Troy began to have breathing issues that resulted in him having to be hospitalized in Hickory for multiple days in ICU. On January 6th, he was released and sent home with oxygen support and breathing treatments, and began his road to recovery from COVID-19. While we knew he would need time to gain strength and recover, little did we know where God would bring him on this recovery journey.<br /><br />After ten days at home, Troy was brought by ambulance to the hospital on January 16th and was admitted to ICU because he was struggling to breathe. Tests and scans showed that he had suffered a heart attack and that he had fluid buildup around his heart as well as damage to his lungs. He was put on high-flow oxygen support and struggled to make progress toward recovery. There were many unknowns about what was causing his severe medical complications, and he took a turn for the worst. His family was called to say goodbyes to their dad and husband. Thankfully, God knew this was not the end of Troy’s life story!<br /><br />On January 23, Troy was transported by a medical team to Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. He has continued to have tests run and scans done to determine his condition and to address medical complications he is having. On Monday, January 25th, the medical team at Mission decided to do a bronchoscopy to determine the condition of Troy’s lungs. Because of his struggle to keep his oxygen levels up without full oxygen support by nasal cannula or bipap, the team determined that Troy needed to be sedated and put on a ventilator for this procedure and for a time afterwards to allow his lungs to heal. This decision was done for the best possible outcome for Troy. As test results continue to come in, Troy is making steps towards recovery, one day at a time. As of the evening of January 27th, Troy is still sedated and on a ventilator, but he is responding to directions to open his eyes and squeeze hands! He is a fighter and serves a mighty God!<br /><br />This entire journey has been filled with prayers for healing and peace  from friends, family, and strangers across the country. Your texts, messages, and words of encouragement have meant more to Jeanne and Troy and their family than you will ever know. Supporting Troy Smart’s Recovery from COVID-19

<p>In early September, ATL First Officer Keith Dutton and his wife Jennifer were involved in a horrific car accident. Both of them are suffering from critical injuries which still have them in the ICU. They have three older children who are with family right now. As members of the Southwest Family, we have started an account to help the family in deferring the upcoming expenses for legal and medical issues. Keith & Jennifer Dutton Family Expenses Fund

On Sunday, August 9th, this precious angel was playing outside with his siblings when he was murdered. He was merely doing what he would do any other day and that’s playing with his sisters, riding his bike, doing what kids do and all of the innocence that comes with being a child. This family has faced unimaginable pain because of this senseless act of violence. Justice for Cannon

On Tuesday August 20th, after complaining of an intense headache, Jonathan suffered a hemorrhagic stroke in his brain. He was rushed to Atrium Health Lincoln from which he was then air lifted to Charlotte. He is currently in the intensive care unit in Charlotte. <br />CT scans confirm an emergency craniotomy was successful at removing the blood from his brain.  He is showing progress and is responding well to treatments, though we know the road ahead for Jonathan will be a long and challenging one.<br /><br />We are asking for assistance for Jonathan, Stephanie, and Nora while they face the weeks and months ahead. <br /><br />Funds raised will cover their mortgage, utilities, groceries, and to make their home more accessible, and anything else they may need as we learn more about his prognosis and a plan for moving forward. <br /><br />We will update on his status as we can. Jonathan Hughes Battle Fund

Legacy ASA Flight Attendant, Virginia Roylance lost her Son, Chris today (4-23-20) as you can see Chris was  "special needs" Virginia retired in May of 2019 when the DFW CRJ flying ended after close to 30 yrs of service at ASA (XJT) and had been working at Amazon and most recently Walmart. A parent should never have to lose their child, but she made the selfless decision to donate his organs to give life to others. While the Pandemic has affected most all of us, if you can find it in your heart to help a ASA Family member, I know she would appreciate it. #ASAisFamily

Homegoing Cost

In September, a place on my nose turned out to be a Basal Cell Carcinoma and was biopsied ... It was not malignant but did need to be removed ... The Dermotologist performed a MOHS procedure on 10/4/19 and it was larger and deeper than they thought resulting in the removal of 1/4th of my nose (on the left side) ... The first plastic surgery was performed 10/7/19 ... A skin graft was cut  down my forehead to my eyebrow, then twisted, and pulled down to create the new nose ... A second surgery will be scheduled in a few weeks and then 4-6 weeks of recovery <br /><br />I found out AFTER the first procedure, that my FMLA was denied due to not being at Lowe’s for a full 12 months ... Because of this, I will not be paid ANY short term or long term disability plus I will have to pay my own insurance premium out of my own funds which I do not have ... I was shocked when I checked in the surgical center on Monday, and they put all the information in the computer and then said “That’ll be $1,406.00 today .. Will that be Debit or Credit?” <br /><br />I truly hate putting myself out there like this but I can’t let my pride get in the way ... IF there is any way you can assist (even slightly), I would greatly appreciate it.<br /><br />Thank you in advance

Medical Expenses

Our friend, John Dittrich, has had a life changing medical incident in which a spinal cord infarction caused a horrific injury.
After several weeks of fantastic medical care and rehab, John is now home to face the challenges of living in a wheelchair for the unknowable future.
While John and Lois have displayed unbelievable courage and good humor in the face of this challenge, there remain a number of enormous obstacles.
Their home, while in a neighborhood of wonderful friends (*ahem*) isn't even close to being handicapped accessible. From the moment he arrives, there is, at this time, a makeshift wheelchair ramp onto a porch that has seem better and sturdier days.
Inside their home , they're struggling somewhat with the carpeting located in most of their home, inhibiting his movement in a wheelchair. The kitchen and the bathrooms are not set up for accessibility.
Their insurance has provided a hoyer lift to assist them in getting in and out of bed to the wheelchair, but the bed itself isn't really conducive to his condition. An adjustable bed would certainly be on a wish list. 
Transportation is another huge challenge. As they don't own a handicapped accessible van , they are using a medical transport team each time he needs to go to the doctor. These costs are formidable and not covered by insurance.
Any assistance that his friends, family, neighbors or random strangers can provide would be greatly appreciated!

John's Recent Paralysis Requires Home Modification

We are standing together, Pilots and Flight Attendants with our family. The IAM union has not followed our AFA contract, nor our Fence agreement. <br /><br />We are moving forward with a law firm to file a DFR (duty of fair representation) against  the  IAM.  Your donations are welcome and will be used for our legal counsel.

Helping Stand Together

On May 27, 2019, our friend Adam was riding his mountain bike down Little Cottonwood Canyon when he lost control over a drop and crashed head first.  Thankfully, his crash was witnessed by some other riders who were able to get in touch with emergency services and get him out of the canyon and to the hospital. He was admitted to the Intermountain Medical Center in Salt Lake City into the shock trauma ICU unit and rushed into surgery to fuse his spine at the T4 and T5 vertebrae.  As a result of the injury, he is now faced with a complete spinal cord Injury with function lost below the nipple level. Get Adam Lazaro rolling again!

First off these sweet folks have not asked for help. But they are struggling and when someone we see is in need then we help when we can. And they would give the shirt off their backs for someone else. <br /><br />“Corey” Lamont Wilson is a great guy, a hardworking man and husband to Jennifer and dad to 2 sweet, fun girls (just check his and Jennifer’s Facebook for hilarious videos and photos.)<br /><br />In October Corey started noticing health problems. He was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. He started out being optimistic immediately ready to fight for his life, not just for himself but for his wife and kids. Corey had just switched jobs before he was diagnosed. Sadly that caused him to not have full benefits until the beginning of 2018. He still started radiation and is now in chemo. Y’all chemo ain’t no joke but this man is a fighter. <br /><br />During this time his wife was in a car accident, fell and was injured at home and just lost her part time job. Corey is barely able to work now due to chemo. Everyone knows bills don’t pay themselves. Don’t we all wish they would though?! <br /><br />Recently their water heater went out and when they looked it had almost caused a fire. Instead of complaining they chose to look at the positive but I know they feel like they can’t take much more. (Update: thankfully this has been replaced!) <br /><br />Please consider donating. Medical help for Corey Wilson & Fam

Slater Brabec died suddenly in a one car accident on August 1st. Slater was a fun-loving, vivacious child, that lived life to the fullest. No parent is prepared for their 17 year old child to die. And with that in mind, no preparations were made in the way of life or burial insurance. The family is in desperate need of funds to bury this child.  The loss of a child leaves a hole that is insurmountable. Please find it in your heart to help. Any amount will help.

Slater Brabec Funeral Expense Fund

Evan, age 13, collapsed during his basketball game on February 10th. During this time his heart stopped beating, filling his lung with blood and sending them and other organs into failure. The doctors are saying that this event was most likely caused due to a disturbance of the electrical activity in Evan’s heart. Evan has since been placed on 90% life support and in medically induced coma in hopes to keep his body stable long enough for it to heal. Evan has made small improvements since arriving at Levine’s Children’s Hospital but still has a very long road ahead of him. All money raised from this GoFundMe page will go directly to Evan and his family to help pay for medical bills and other expenses, such as hotel rooms and food, while Evan is in the hospital. On the evening of 12/28/17, the Lucas’ home was completely burned to the ground, no foul play resulting in a total loss. The father and 22 month old son was severely burned while escaping the home, engulfed in flame. They are currently receiving medical treatment for their injuries.
