<div>First, from the bottom of my heart, I want to thank everyone who has donated, shared our fundraiser, reached out, and kept my younger brother Bong in their prayers. Because of your kindness and generosity, we were able to get Bong to Thailand to receive treatment. For that, our family will forever be grateful. Unfortunately, it breaks my heart to share that things have taken a turn for the worse.

<div>He traveled to Thailand with so much hope, praying that the treatment would help Bong regain his strength and give him a better chance at fighting this terrible disease. But despite receiving treatment, his condition continued to deteriorate. We had to make the difficult decision to transfer him to St. Luke’s Medical Center in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Philippines, where he is now receiving further medical care. Since arriving, we have received devastating news. Bong’s colon cancer has progressed to Stage 4 and has rapidly spread to his liver.

<div>As if that wasn’t heartbreaking enough, he has also developed a serious staph infection that continues to worsen and now requires another surgery. His doctors have advised that he needs multiple medical procedures to address these complications and give him the best possible chance to continue fighting.

<div>I cannot begin to explain how painful it is to watch my little brother go through all of this. Bong is very young to go through this. He is a loving husband, a father of two beautiful children, a son, and my younger brother. He has so much more life to live, memories to make, and milestones to experience with his children. No family is ever prepared to hear that someone they love is fighting for their life.

<div>We are scared. We are emotionally and financially exhausted. But we are holding on to hope, and we are not giving up on him. As his older brother, one of the hardest things is knowing I cannot take away his pain. I wish I could trade places with him, even for a moment, just to give him some relief. Instead, I am doing everything I possibly can to make sure he receives the care he needs.

<div>The donations we initially received helped us take that first important step toward getting Bong treatment in Thailand. We truly believed and prayed that it would help him. Unfortunately, with his condition worsening, the unexpected transfer to another country, his hospitalization, additional surgeries, procedures, medications, and ongoing medical care, the expenses have grown far beyond what we originally anticipated.

<div> My name is Regie. I am reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for help for my youngest brother, Bong, as he continues his fight against colon cancer. Two years ago, at only 38 years old, my brother was diagnosed with <strong>Stage III colon cancer</strong>. Today, at 40, his health has significantly declined. He is experiencing increasing abdominal pain, severe weakness, and has reached a point where even walking has become difficult.

<div><strong>Our immediate priority is getting him evaluated again so we can understand his current condition and determine the best course of treatment.</strong> My brother Bong lives in Guam with his wife and their two children. He currently does not have health insurance, and neither he nor his wife is able to work at this time. The financial burden of cancer, everyday living expenses, and trying to obtain the medical care he desperately needs has become overwhelming.

<div>Our family is now exploring treatment options in the Philippines or Thailand, where we hope he can receive the specialized cancer care he needs. But getting him there and supporting him through treatment will require resources that our family simply cannot provide on our own.

<div>This is especially difficult for me because he is my youngest brother and the only brother I have left. We lost our younger brother unexpectedly in 2017 after a sudden illness. That loss changed our family forever, and the thought of potentially losing another brother is something I cannot put into words. Right now, I want to do everything within my ability to give my brother the opportunity to fight this disease and to be there for his wife and children. Stand With Bong and His Family Through Treatment

<div>My name is Myleana, and I am organizing this fundraiser for my sister, Brianna, and her children as they navigate an unimaginable indescribable loss.

<div>On June 15, 2026, Lieutenant Colonel Gabriel “Journee” Estrella was among the eight service members aboard the B-52 that crashed at Edwards Air Force Base. Gabe leaves behind his devoted and loving wife, Brianna; their beautiful three-year-old daughter; and two amazing sons who loved him dearly.
</div>
<div>Gabe was a man of extraordinary character, unwavering dedication, and selfless love. He loved his family above all else, and everything he did reflected that love. Whether he was encouraging his sons, making sure his daughter got time on the swings before a Dodgers game, surprising his wife with treats from restaurants and bakeries after a long TDY so she could feature them on her vlog, or driving hours so his wife could spend time with her grandmother, he always put his family first.
</div>
<div>He was equally passionate about serving his country. As Brianna has said, he woke up every day excited to go to work. Being a Weapons Systems Officer was his dream job, and he considered himself fortunate to spend each day doing what he loved. Before this flight, he told Brianna that it was a once-in-a-lifetime flight. He was proud to serve and deeply committed to the test flight entrusted to him.
</div>
<div>Gabe believed strongly in the importance of education and planning for his family's future. He had already established a college fund for his daughter, who just turned three years old. He was known for his positive spirit, warm smile, and ability to lift up those around him. Even on difficult days, he carried himself with kindness, humility, and optimism. He was also a proud and loyal Dodgers fan, and anyone who knew him can attest to the impact he made on the lives of others.
</div>
<div>The truth is, Gabe would never have wanted a fundraiser for himself. He would have insisted that any help go to someone else in need. That was simply the kind of man he was—humble, selfless, and always thinking of others before himself.
</div>
<div>Many people have reached out asking how they can help Brianna and their children during this heartbreaking time. It is only because of those requests that this fundraiser was created. Gabe and his family have given so much to others and to our country. They have made the utmost sacrifice.
</div>
<div>All funds raised will go directly toward the future needs of Gabe’s children, including education, tuition, and other expenses that may arise as they move forward without their husband, father, and hero.

Honoring Gabe’s Legacy for His Children’s Future

<div>On January 28, we received news that our brother Rodney has <strong>stage 4 metastatic colon cancer</strong>. This diagnosis has shaken all of us. Rodney has always been a fighter, and he will face this challenge with immense courage and determination.

<div>Rodney has never asked for much. For several years, my brother has been our mother's immediate caretaker, who is going through severe health issues and is bedridden. Rodney has sacrificed so much of his time to take on the role of caring for our mother, and he does it with no complaints or regret. He has been selfless and dedicated in putting our mom's well-being before his own.

<div>As a teacher and coach for Untalan Middle School and Tiyan High School, he has devoted his life to inspiring and mentoring his students both in the classroom and on the court. His passion for teaching goes beyond the classroom. His students and athletes look to him as a mentor, father figure, and inspiration as he helps them navigate through school and life. His ability to connect with young people, empower them, and help them realize their true potential is a gift my siblings and I have long admired. He has balanced these roles as a caring son, brother, uncle, and teacher with grace and love. <strong>Now, the biggest challenge and fight is upon him, and now is the time to support and help him win this battle.</strong>

Stand with Rodney Pama in His Cancer Fight

Here's the incident from my (Audrey his twin sister) perspective with all the gory details: Cory had a freak accident on Sunday afternoon June 9th on the Colorado River near Blythe, CA. He dove off of a dock into the river, which we had been doing all weekend and I did no more than 30 minutes before the incident. But this time things went wrong and he hit the bottom of the riverbed with his head, crushing all vertebra in his neck. Someone noticed he wasn't coming up and saw blood in the water. Three to five people ran into the water to find him. I saw an adult pull him out limp in their arms. I had no idea it was Cory that they were yelling about.  We all jumped in to help and instantly called 911 and our mother, who was in Fresno at the time.  Myself and a few cousins with medical training assessed Cory checking his vitals. He had a couple large lesions on his head and blood dripping down his face. He kept telling us "I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry" while waiting for the paramedics. He even told us he heard his head hit the bottom, realized he couldn't move and just thought "hold your breath, hold your breath". I was told the first thing he said when being pulled out of the water was "thank you", because that is Cory....always the nicest guy. The paramedics arrived within 15-30 minutes, loaded him up and drove down the road to meet the airlift. A friend drove me to meet Cory at the hospital 1.5 hours later. He was airlifted to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs. He was awake and coherent through the entire event until agreeing to being intubated to help him breathe. Luckily, I made it to the hospital just before they intubated him to quickly speak with him. <br /><br />About 25 hrs after the accident, he was taken in for surgery. He fractured every cervical vertebra, severed the two posterior arteries feeding blood to his brain, and his spinal cord suffered damage near C3 and C4. His surgery on the afternoon of June 10th went well. He is mentally there, coherent and communicating with us through blinking, frowning and smiling. His neck was fused from the base of his skull down to T1,  which is his entire neck. He cannot feel anything below his chest. He has little bicep movement with some sensation. There is a high chance due to the severity of the damage to the spinal cord near C3 and C4, that he will need a trach to help him breathe in the future.  At this time he is still on vent.  He's got a long road for recovery ahead but I know his positive outlook on life will help him push though anything, not to mention the giant support system of friends and family that he has.<br /><br />This has been a whirlwind and expenses have already started with him being in Palm Springs and not near home.  We are working on the next phase which will be moving to a Spinal Care Center to work with him.  Although he has insurance this is a long road ahead and we appreciate any help and support anyone can give.<br /><br />Thank you,<br />Audrey and Family

Mitchell "Umpa" Miles was a one of a kind! He was born and raised in Hawaii. He was always singing, laughing, and telling jokes. Mitchell could put a smile on anyone's face. He loved his wife, kids, grandkids, great grandkids, and of course his Steelers. :) <br /><img class="not-resizable" src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/20923050_1496593618.834_funddescription.jpg" alt="" width="100%" /><br /><br />Before Mitchell left home, he told his wife Winnie and daughter Marlo, jokingly, "I'm going to California and not coming back." He would always tell his grandson Mark he was going to take a one-way flight to California on the 1st, which meant "the 1st chance he gets." He flew to California to visit his son Wason and his family on June 1st. When he arrived he was so happy to be out here. Laughing and joking in true Mitchell fashion.<br />He passed away in Wason's home while sleeping, early morning on June 2nd from natural causes. <br /><br />The "first" finally came and you did take that one way flight to California on the first like you said.
