Update October 15, 2026: Bong's Cancer has progressed to Stage 4

A Heartbreaking Update on Bong. His Fight Is Far From Over ❤️

First, from the bottom of my heart, I want to thank everyone who has donated, shared our fundraiser, reached out, and kept my younger brother Bong in their prayers. Because of your kindness and generosity, we were able to get Bong to Thailand to receive treatment. For that, our family will forever be grateful. Unfortunately, it breaks my heart to share that things have taken a turn for the worse.

He traveled to Thailand with so much hope, praying that the treatment would help Bong regain his strength and give him a better chance at fighting this terrible disease. But despite receiving treatment, his condition continued to deteriorate. We had to make the difficult decision to transfer him to St. Luke’s Medical Center in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Philippines, where he is now receiving further medical care. Since arriving, we have received devastating news. Bong’s colon cancer has progressed to Stage 4 and has rapidly spread to his liver.

As if that wasn’t heartbreaking enough, he has also developed a serious staph infection that continues to worsen and now requires another surgery. His doctors have advised that he needs multiple medical procedures to address these complications and give him the best possible chance to continue fighting.

I cannot begin to explain how painful it is to watch my little brother go through all of this. Bong is very young to go through this. He is a loving husband, a father of two beautiful children, a son, and my younger brother. He has so much more life to live, memories to make, and milestones to experience with his children. No family is ever prepared to hear that someone they love is fighting for their life.

We are scared. We are emotionally and financially exhausted. But we are holding on to hope, and we are not giving up on him. As his older brother, one of the hardest things is knowing I cannot take away his pain. I wish I could trade places with him, even for a moment, just to give him some relief. Instead, I am doing everything I possibly can to make sure he receives the care he needs.

The donations we initially received helped us take that first important step toward getting Bong treatment in Thailand. We truly believed and prayed that it would help him. Unfortunately, with his condition worsening, the unexpected transfer to another country, his hospitalization, additional surgeries, procedures, medications, and ongoing medical care, the expenses have grown far beyond what we originally anticipated.

This is why I am humbly reaching out once again to ask for your help. I know so many of you have already given generously, and I cannot thank you enough. Asking for additional help is not easy, especially knowing that everyone has their own struggles and responsibilities. But when it comes to my brother’s life, I have to put my pride aside and do everything I can for him.

Every donation, no matter the amount, will help us continue paying for his medical care and the procedures he urgently needs. Bong has two children who need their dad. A wife who wants her husband home. A mother who wants her son to get better. And a sibling who cannot imagine life without him.

We know the road ahead is uncertain, and we understand how serious his condition has become. But as long as there is hope, we will continue to stand beside him and fight with him. Please continue to keep Bong in your prayers. Pray for his strength, for his infection to heal, for his body to withstand the procedures ahead, and for wisdom and guidance for the doctors caring for him.

I also ask that you keep his wife and children in your prayers. They are going through something no family should ever have to experience.

Our Original Story

My name is Regie. I am reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for help for my youngest brother, Bong, as he continues his fight against colon cancer. Two years ago, at only 38 years old, my brother was diagnosed with Stage III colon cancer. Today, at 40, his health has significantly declined. He is experiencing increasing abdominal pain, severe weakness, and has reached a point where even walking has become difficult.

Our immediate priority is getting him evaluated again so we can understand his current condition and determine the best course of treatment. My brother Bong lives in Guam with his wife and their two children. He currently does not have health insurance, and neither he nor his wife is able to work at this time. The financial burden of cancer, everyday living expenses, and trying to obtain the medical care he desperately needs has become overwhelming.

Our family is now exploring treatment options in the Philippines or Thailand, where we hope he can receive the specialized cancer care he needs. But getting him there and supporting him through treatment will require resources that our family simply cannot provide on our own.

We are raising funds to help cover:

-Travel from Guam for my brother and necessary family/caregiver support

-Medical consultations, testing, procedures, and cancer treatment

-Hospital and medication expenses

-Hotel or temporary housing during treatment

-Transportation and meals while overseas

-Financial support for his wife and two children while he is undergoing treatment

-Other unexpected medical and travel expenses associated with his care

This is especially difficult for me because he is my youngest brother and the only brother I have left. We lost our younger brother unexpectedly in 2017 after a sudden illness. That loss changed our family forever, and the thought of potentially losing another brother is something I cannot put into words. Right now, I want to do everything within my ability to give my brother the opportunity to fight this disease and to be there for his wife and children. If you are able to donate, no amount is too small. Every contribution will go toward helping us get him the medical care he needs and supporting his family throughout this journey.
