A group of youth climate activists were just arrested after occupying Biden's headquarters. They demanded that the President show young people and people across the country that he's serious about his climate promises by declaring a climate emergency. He must use every tool at his disposal to stop the climate crisis by ending fossil fuels and creating green union jobs.

Our team is working hard to get them out of jail by the end of the day. Could you help us by contributing to their bail fund?

**UPDATE** all were released after 10 hours in jail. Please donate to help cover their legal expenses!

Bail Fund for Youth Climate Activists

Okizu Foundation

Hi, For those of you who don't know me, my name is Elijah Blesofsky I'm 18 and I am a sports videographer. I currently work for American University Athletics doing sports work for various teams. Unfortunately, while I was working today, My camera suffered a fall and broke, it was my fault. It currently will not even turn on despite my best efforts. Being in college, I don't have a lot of money right now and my warranty expired last month. I don't know how much repairs would cost or if it is even worth fixing. I don't have a backup camera, so I am trying to figure out my best course. For those of you who know me, you know it's my passion and I give my all regardless if I'm being paid or not. I spend countless hours pursuing this and trying to get better. Anything helps, Thank you.

Overview

The ASB Community Service Committee is hosting this fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in honor of Ms. Keller.

Purpose

As some of you know, Ms. Keller was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma, a form of cancer that first develops in the lymphatic system. As a math teacher, the director of the LIFE program, and the Eagle Buddies coordinator, Ms. Keller has had a tremendous impact on our school. With her and Mr. Keller’s blessing, we hope to rally the Harker community around supporting her personally and combatting leukemia and lymphoma in society.

Harker is truly special as a school community. Time and time again, we’ve witnessed the collective strength of each member of our community’s selflessness, whether in the smallest daily act of kindness from students and faculty or in the large-scale fundraisers conducted while online for both COVID and the wildfires. We hope to tap into this same ethos of compassion and devotion to one another that defines our school, reinforced through a rich history of kindness, empathy, and charity. Through a school-wide fundraiser, we hope to make significant contributions to lymphoma research and treatment, each dollar raised to honor Ms. Keller.

All of us have considered Harker as a home in some way or another. With this community as our home, there comes the importance of caring for each and every one of our Harker members as family. We are indescribably grateful for Ms. Keller’s support and contributions to our school community and would be honored if you would join us in this fundraising effort against leukemia and lymphoma. When the Harker community comes together, anything is possible, so let us all take a leap against lymphoma!

Good things happen to good people.... not always! My name is Armaan Thakker and my sister Myra is joining me on this fundraiser for our au-pair Nathaly from Colombia. She is one of the kindest human beings ever and goes out of her way to help others, and is well loved by all the neighborhood kids and their parents. Unfortunately, her baby brother Santiago (pictures below), only 20 years old got into a serious accident and is fighting for his life at the ICU. He has suffered spinal cord rupture, has internal bleeding in his lungs, and currently is paralyzed from his chest down. His family is not in a position to support this extensive surgery for almost $5000 and we are asking for help and kindness for a young kid with his whole life ahead of him. Santiago was just about to finish college and become an environmental engineer - we appreciate your kindness in giving him a fighting chance to survive and have a chance to get back on his feet. Any donation will mean the world to us. Thank you for your time and kindness!

Spinal Cord Urgent Surgery For 20 Yr. Old Santiago

In this time of crisis, many people are trying to find ways to help, both in their own communities and on larger scales. We are focusing on distributing COVID prevention packages along with Coronavirus information to homeless people around the bay area who are susceptible to both the disease and misinformation.

Kit Items:

--> 2 Bars Soap
--> 1 Homemade Cloth Mask (environmentally friendly and washable)
--> 6 Disinfectant Wipes
--> 2 Pair Gloves
--> 1 Homemade 2oz Hand Sanitizer
--> 1 Informational Pamphlet (designed by me)

Additionally, in our effort to minimize our environmental footprint due to this project, all items packaged in a reusable and environmentally friendly bag.

With stories of selfish individuals hoarding items all over the news, we decided to make our own cloth masks using a sewing machine and our own hand sanitizer with alcohol and aloe gel to both combat the shortage and cut down on costs. Our entire package is designed with environmental friendliness in mind. Our cotton masks are washable and reusable, and our bags are made from recycled plastics.

To reach out and help even more of the homeless, we are partnering with the homeless shelter LifeMoves. Teaming up with homeless shelters means that we can get our kits into the hands of many more people. We are currently contacting more homeless shelters and aim to spread our kits to more homeless shelters.

We would like your help through a simple donation of yours. No matter how much you decide to contribute, your donation will be greatly appreciated and go towards helping the homeless. Your money will help us continue to supply the homeless with sanitation kits carrying gloves, soap, hand sanitizer, homemade face masks, and disinfectant wipes. In an effort against hoarding crucial products from others, we try to make as many of the components at home as possible. Your money will go directly and only into buying products.

Over 151,000 people in California alone experience homelessness. With the onset of the Coronavirus, they are still left on the streets or in homeless shelters. Our goal is to provide those shelters with sanitation kits and information pamphlets to fight both the disease and misinformation.

Looking on the long stretch, once the government and businesses permit workers to return to their workplaces, we plan to supply returning workers with these kits, as their offices or institutes will most likely still be exposed to infected workers who were not diagnosed, increasing the risk of a mass-breakout of cases. But, with the proper protection supplied by us, we can help businesses mitigate that risk.

COVID-19 Sanitation Kits for Bay Area Homeless

Eia Macahiya Dana (May 13, 1981 - May 17, 2017) was an authentic, selfless, and loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She passed away on May 17th after a sudden accident on her 36th birthday. There are no real words to make sense of her loss. Eia truly had a heart of gold. She had a contagious happy spirit that she shared with anyone who’s ever met her.

Her most precious gift from God was her daughter, Ashley Dana. Eia lived in complete devotion for Ashley - always doing everything and anything possible to make her daughter happy and feel loved. She had a variety of interests, but one of her greatest joys would come from watching and cheering for Ashley at her basketball games with her South Bay Scholars’ basketball family. We’ll never forget her beautiful smile that could brighten any room.

Without Eia here to provide the immense love and financial support for Ashley’s short and long term needs, we started this GoFundMe for her 13 year old daughter. For those of you who would like to donate to this fund in lieu of flowers, please donate whatever you can.

We were all so fortunate to have Eia in our lives. Please keep her memory alive every chance you get. Thank you for your donations, prayers and condolences for our family.
