<div>Bryan and his 83-year-old father spent the last decade building an incredible LEGO Star Wars collection together. Their shared passion resulted in about 780 sets and more than 1,200 minifigures, with the hope that one day, selling the collection could help pay for their grandchildren’s college. Last year, Bryan consigned the entire collection to a Mystery company so it could be sold over time. The collection was so impressive that it drew news coverage and huge crowds at the store.

<div>But in November 2024, everything changed. This Mystery company's corporate took over the store during a dispute with the franchise owner. When they seized the store, they also took control of Bryan and his father’s collection — even though it did not belong to them. According to Bryan, the company removed the identifying tags from the sets and continued selling the collection instead of returning it, claiming he could not prove ownership. Bryan and his father have tried going through authorities and legal channels, but the cost of forcing action in court could be tens of thousands of dollars, making it extremely difficult for them to fight back.

Help Bryan Recover His Stolen LEGO Collection

My name is Giovanni, and I own a house in Surprise, AZ, where I currently pay a monthly mortgage. Over the years, I’ve rented out this home, and I’ve seen firsthand how challenging it can be for renters to get ahead financially. My goal is to pay off my mortgage as soon as possible so I can lower the rent for my tenants. Right now, the rent is higher than I would like, but I’m considering reducing it significantly once the house is paid off. I believe that high rent makes it nearly impossible for people with modest incomes to save for emergencies, pay off credit card debt, or plan for important milestones like family vacations, buying a car, or even owning a home themselves.

 I don’t believe renters should be financially forced to rent all their lives, and I want to do my part to change that. By paying off my mortgage, I’ll be able to offer lower rent and give my tenants more freedom and stability. I don’t have a set timeline, and I don’t plan to advertise lower rent to attract new tenants—I simply want to help the people who already call my house home. I hope that by taking this step, I might inspire other landlords to consider doing the same, creating a ripple effect of positive change in our community.
