<div><strong>Ark International School – Driving Futures Forward</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong><em>Our Vision</em></strong>
</div>
<div>At Ark International School, an offshoot of Ark International Ministry, we strive to be a center of learning excellence—bridging education and the real world through academic rigor and holistic formation.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong><em>Why We Exist</em></strong>
</div>
<div>In communities like Kutunse and Dunyo in Ghana, the cost of quality education is prohibitively high.
</div>
<div>Families face heartbreaking choices: either pay beyond their means or watch their children struggle in schools that lack the resources to support them.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Our own journey reflects this reality. When our first son transferred schools to be closer to family, we noticed learning gaps that made reading difficult. Despite his intelligence, his inability to read eroded his confidence and interest in education. Other schools offered interventions, but they were unaffordable and far away.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong><em>Our Turning Point</em></strong>
</div>
<div>As educators and parents, we prayerfully chose to homeschool our children. Within weeks, their literacy improved significantly. This opened our eyes: many children in our community face similar challenges, yet lack an environment that understands and nurtures their growth.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong><em>Our Mission</em></strong>
</div>
<div>Ark International School was born out of this need.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Today, we:</strong>
</div>
<div>1. Provide affordable, high-quality education for underserved communities.
</div>
<div>2. Offer specialized interventions for struggling and neurodivergent learners.
</div>
<div>3. Create a nurturing environment that fosters mental, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual development.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong><em>Our Story</em></strong>
</div>
<div>What began with homeschooling two sons has grown into a thriving school that has supported over 200 children and counting. Once considered “outcasts,” these students are now thriving and excelling wherever they go.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong><em>Scholarships and Support</em></strong>
</div>
<div>Every child at Ark International School benefits from a scholarship. Most receive support from the Yvonne Ayisi Scholarship Fund, established in memory of our late sister-in-law, who was passionate about children’s rights and well-being. This fund ensures that no child is denied education due to financial hardship.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong><em>Why We Need Your Help Now</em></strong>
</div>
<div>To avoid overcrowding, we relocated part of the school to a new campus (Block C). While this improved learning, it created a pressing challenge:
</div>
<div>*Students must now commute between campuses.
</div>
<div>*Without a bus, they walk long, unsafe paths or rely on risky motorbikes.
</div>
<div>*The route is especially dangerous during the rainy season, as the community lies in a low-lying area beneath the Akuapim Ridge.
</div>
<div>*This commute robs children of valuable learning time and exposes them to unnecessary risks.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong><em>Our Urgent Need</em></strong>
</div>
<div>We urgently need to purchase a school bus to safely transport students between campuses.
</div>
<div><strong>This bus will:</strong>
</div>
<div>*Ensure safe and reliable transportation for all students.
</div>
<div>*Protect children from unsafe walking conditions.
</div>
<div>*Save precious time for study and growth.
</div>
<div>*Strengthen our mission of providing quality, accessible education for every child.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong><em>How You Can Help</em></strong>
</div>
<div>Your support will help hundreds of eager children learn, grow, and succeed. By contributing, you’re ensuring a safe future for Ghana’s children.
</div>
<div>Your gift will provide a safe school bus, restoring time for learning and hope for over 100 precious lives.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong><em>Appreciating Donors</em></strong>
</div>
<div>We are deeply grateful for every gift that brings us closer to our goal of purchasing a school bus, and we are committed to honoring our donors in meaningful and visible ways.
</div>
<div>To show our appreciation, we will feature each donor’s name prominently on the bus itself, ensuring their support is recognized every time the bus hits the road.
</div>
<div>We will also create a donor recognition wall display at the school where all contributors will be permanently acknowledged, celebrating their generosity in a place the whole community can see. Additionally, we will highlight our supporters through thank-you citations on all our school’s social media platforms, publicly sharing our gratitude and inspiring others through their example
</div>
<div><strong>Please give today and help us drive their future forward.</strong>

<div>Rachel Okem Otchere is a 29 year old pharmacist, wife, and mother whose story touches the heart of everyone who hears it. If you haven’t met Rachel before, she is a charismatic, fun-loving young woman who has dedicated her life to her family, profession, and faith. Her warm personality shines through her Youtube channel and vlogs (<a href="https://youtube.com/@MTL19)" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><a href="https://youtube.com/" target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://youtube.com/</a>@MTL19)</a> and she’s always singing or humming. However, everything changed when she received a wrongful administration of Atracurium, a powerful anaesthetic, leaving her paralysed and in need of finances for urgent rehabilitative care.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Rachel safely delivered her 2nd child via caesarean on 26th January 2023 and had a 72-hour window to receive an Anti D vaccine. Unfortunately, Atracurium was administered instead via intramuscular injection, causing her body to shut down and her heart to stop beating, depriving her of oxygen for hours.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Since then, Rachel spent weeks on a ventilator in the ICU, with a tracheostomy, battled severe infections and fought to stay alive. Upon discharge from the hospital on 5th May 2023, she has been scheduled for urgent rehabilitative care to help her regain brain function and motility.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>She has been diagnosed with Hypoxic Ishcaemic brain injury post cardiac arrest sec to medication error (atracurium), acute pulmonary thromboembolism; ECHO suggestive of PE, aspiration Pneumonia and Infected gluteal ulcer.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Presently, Rachel is in a wheelchair, depends on a feeding tube and is facing an incredibly grueling journey of neurological tests, surgeries, and rehabilitative care. Amidst all this, her family and loved ones have stood by her side, caring for her two children and supporting her while she continues to fight to survive.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Unfortunately, the cost of her treatment is preventing Rachel from getting the urgent care she needs to recover. There’s an <strong>outstanding bill of GHS 248,176.88 (approx. USD 22,172.92)</strong>, and Rachel needs about <strong>GBP 60,000 (approx. USD 74,702.94) for an extensive 3-month rehabilitation treatment</strong> in the UK.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Any donation big or small would make a massive difference to us, as her family's resources have been completely exhausted, having already paid about GHS 200,000 (approx. USD 17,873.10) in bills and medications. Also, due to Rachel’s condition, her family has put their careers on hold to care for her and her children around the clock and will need money for the recovery journey ahead.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This is an appeal for financial support to get Rachel back again, to be able to hold her newborn and run after her toddler. Let us show Rachel and her family the power of humanity and community.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Throughout this journey, we ask for continuing prayers and words of support for Rachel and her family. Please help by donating and sharing to spread the word.
</div>
<div>God bless you.
</div>

<div><em>The 2012 year group of Aburi Girls' Association (AOGA Twelve) is an association of old students from Aburi Girls Senior High School who graduated in 2012, of which Rachel Okem Otchere is a member. AOGA Twelve through its President, Maud Avevor (listed as a beneficiary), has created this GoFundMe to raise funds in support of Rachel.</em>
