Our Vision

At Ark International School, an offshoot of Ark International Ministry, we strive to be a center of learning excellence—bridging education and the real world through academic rigor and holistic formation.

Why We Exist

In communities like Kutunse and Dunyo in Ghana, the cost of quality education is prohibitively high.

Families face heartbreaking choices: either pay beyond their means or watch their children struggle in schools that lack the resources to support them.

Our own journey reflects this reality. When our first son transferred schools to be closer to family, we noticed learning gaps that made reading difficult. Despite his intelligence, his inability to read eroded his confidence and interest in education. Other schools offered interventions, but they were unaffordable and far away.

Our Turning Point

As educators and parents, we prayerfully chose to homeschool our children. Within weeks, their literacy improved significantly. This opened our eyes: many children in our community face similar challenges, yet lack an environment that understands and nurtures their growth.

Our Mission

Ark International School was born out of this need.

Today, we:

1. Provide affordable, high-quality education for underserved communities.

2. Offer specialized interventions for struggling and neurodivergent learners.

3. Create a nurturing environment that fosters mental, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual development.

Our Story

What began with homeschooling two sons has grown into a thriving school that has supported over 200 children and counting. Once considered “outcasts,” these students are now thriving and excelling wherever they go.

Scholarships and Support

Every child at Ark International School benefits from a scholarship. Most receive support from the Yvonne Ayisi Scholarship Fund, established in memory of our late sister-in-law, who was passionate about children’s rights and well-being. This fund ensures that no child is denied education due to financial hardship.

Why We Need Your Help Now

To avoid overcrowding, we relocated part of the school to a new campus (Block C). While this improved learning, it created a pressing challenge:

*Students must now commute between campuses.

*Without a bus, they walk long, unsafe paths or rely on risky motorbikes.

*The route is especially dangerous during the rainy season, as the community lies in a low-lying area beneath the Akuapim Ridge.

*This commute robs children of valuable learning time and exposes them to unnecessary risks.

Our Urgent Need

We urgently need to purchase a school bus to safely transport students between campuses.

This bus will:

*Ensure safe and reliable transportation for all students.

*Protect children from unsafe walking conditions.

*Save precious time for study and growth.

*Strengthen our mission of providing quality, accessible education for every child.

To show our appreciation, we will feature each donor’s name prominently on the bus itself, ensuring their support is recognized every time the bus hits the road.

We will also create a donor recognition wall display at the school where all contributors will be permanently acknowledged, celebrating their generosity in a place the whole community can see. Additionally, we will highlight our supporters through thank-you citations on all our school’s social media platforms, publicly sharing our gratitude and inspiring others through their example
