<div>On the 1st of August 2026 Jessica suddenly collapsed and was transported to Synphat Ramintra Hospital in Bangkok where she underwent emergency brain surgery. Rugby league has given me so much throughout my life, and I will always be grateful for the opportunities, friendships and memories the game has provided.

A loving husband to Natalie and a proud dad to Alexia, Savannah, and Maxwell, he’s a devoted family man who finds joy in coaching Max’s soccer team, cheering on his beloved Manly Sea Eagles, and sharing a laugh with the people he loves. Even while going through chemotherapy and radiation, Daniel continued working full-time and coaching Max’s team — a testament to his strength, resilience, and selflessness.

<div>In August 2024, Daniel discovered a growth that was later diagnosed as colorectal squamous cell carcinoma — a type of cancer so rare that it accounts for less than 0.1% - 0.3% of all colorectal cancers. He began treatment in May 2025, completing six weeks of radiation and chemotherapy. The initial treatment was successful and shrunk the original tumour, allowing Daniel a short period of recovery and hope.
</div>

<div>A few months later, Daniel discovered new growths. A biopsy confirmed that the cancer had returned, and a PET scan in September 2025 showed that it had progressed to stage 4, with metastases to his lungs, pelvis, and lymph nodes. The tumours are now inoperable and have made daily life extremely difficult. Daniel can no longer sit or stand comfortably for long periods, struggles to drive, and spends much of his time lying down to manage pain and fatigue.

<div>Because he has already received the maximum radiation possible, Daniel can’t undergo further radiation therapy. His medical team has placed him on Immunotherapy, and alongside this, Daniel has been given an updated treatment plan for additional therapies including IV Therapy, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, Remission Hyperthermia Therapy,  a tailored regimen of supplements and medications, and other supportive treatments. These aim to help manage chronic pain, support his body through treatment, and work together with the immunotherapy to help shrink the tumours again.
</div>

</div>
<div>The challenge is that Daniel’s cancer is extremely rare, and there is no standardised treatment for it in Australia. His updated combined treatment plan costs around $18,000 per month, and the financial impact has become overwhelming. Daniel has reached a point where he needs to step back from work to prioritise his health and focus fully on treatment and recovery. The family is also exploring alternative or clinical options overseas that could provide further hope if his current treatment regime can shrink the existing tumours.

Meagan, David, Jacob, Seth and Emma are now grieving the loss of their daughter and sister. This is something that no parent should have to go through and it is just so devastating that her life has been cut so short. Our sassy little Lilly had the whole world ahead of her. <div>Our dear friend Lacey and her family are returning home to Scotland on the 23rd of May 2023 due to financial hardship. Lacey's family has a beautiful, young Tabby Cat Silvio who was rescued in 2021 by them and currently has been unsuccessfully rehomed.

<div>With less than 8 weeks left to go and that 4 weeks' notice needs to be given to the airline Silvio's outlook is not looking good as he will be without his loving family and a home and will most likely have to go back to the animal shelter.

<div>Emily is a bright and funny four-year-old who loves collecting miniature things, drawing and colouring in, riding her scooter, watching rap battles on YouTube, dancing and singing, "doing make-up", instigating water fights, playing pranks, and chasing her puppies, Toby and Milo.
</div>

<div>Last month, Emily became disinterested in eating and started complaining of a sore tummy. After multiple visits to the doctors, she was thought to have a virus and started on a course of antibiotics.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Last Thursday, Emily woke up, unable to bear weight on her right leg. Her parents, Emma and Brodie, immediately knew something was wrong and took her to their local hospital. Here, they were assured that Emily most likely had inflammation in her hip joint as a result of a viral infection—a common cause of limping in children. Emily was about to be discharged, but her mum, Emma, pushed for a scan of her abdomen.
</div>

</div>
<div>The scan revealed a large mass on Emily's right adrenal gland, measuring 12 x 8cms. The sonographer who broke the news could only apologise, saying, "I'm so sorry. I don't know what to tell you."
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Emily was immediately transported to the Oncology ward at the Queensland Children's Hospital, where she was diagnosed with Stage 4 High-Risk Neuroblastoma. Neuroblastoma is a rare and aggressive childhood cancer that develops from immature nerve cells in the embryo. It is completely random.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>At the QCH, further tests revealed that, in 4 weeks, Emily's cancer has already spread to her spine, her head, her legs, her bones, and her bone marrow.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The five-year survival rate is 50%.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Over the next 18 months, Emily will undertake a gruelling treatment regime that consists of high-dose chemotherapy, multiple rounds of radiation, two bone marrow transplants, immunotherapy, and surgery to remove her primary tumour. Since her diagnosis last week, Emily has completed her first round of chemo, received two blood transfusions, and had a central line implanted in her chest for chemo. She is now on a feeding tube to improve her nutrition. Her bunny, "Bunny", is also wearing a mini feeding tube to "help his tummy get better".
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If Emily survives, she will be unable to have children. There is a high chance that she will lose her hearing, encounter thyroid and digestive problems, and be more likely to develop secondary cancers, such as leukaemia. In the coming weeks, Emily's hair will fall out, and she will become prone to infections, as well as mouth sores and ulcers, nausea, diarrhoea, and vomiting. She has returned to nappies again, which fortunately for now she sees as a game in which she can dress up like her cousin, "Baby Evie".
</div>

<div>We have great faith and trust in the medical team who are treating Emily. However, Neuroblastoma is a cruel and relentless cancer that has a high chance of relapse, with limited treatment options available in Australia. There are promising trials and vaccines available in America; however, these are expensive and unreachable for most families, costing anywhere between $400,000 and $500,000.
</div>

<div>We are raising funds to help Emma and Brodie cope with the day-to-day challenges of caring for a child with cancer and to save for potentially life-saving treatment for Emily. Emma and Brodie work at Woolies; Brodie has taken 12 months unpaid leave to care full time for Emily, while Emma works to cover the mortgage and the cost of living.

<div>As a family, we are devastated by Emily's diagnosis, but we are comforted by the fact that children are resilient; that there are so many brilliant minds working on a cure; and that despite everything, Emily maintains her sass and her sense of humour. Emily calls her oncologist a chicken nugget, and when presented with hospital food, she will respond, “What the heck!”

Emily's Fight

<div>Wednesday the 8th of Febuary, Troy got in his truck just like any other working day and hit the roads. Little did his family know this would be the last time they got to see their Dad &amp; Raelenes life-long partner. Troy was heading home on the 10th of February, late Friday evening. As his kids went off to bed and one finishing up her Friday night shift, they were fronted with the tragedy that nobody expects to ever happen to them. That dreaded police tap at Raelenes door from the police to inform her of Troy's death. Troy was roughly 50kms from home. He was nearly there when his truck left the road and crashed along the Penola bypass where Troy died at the scene. Being a car enthusiast, Troy has left behind quiet the collection of odds &amp; ends along with all incoming bills to his single income household. The White/Trigg family are going to need a lot of support in helping them, help their Mum with not only grieving but the tidy up. Troy was just 2 weeks off his 50th birthday and has spent a lot of his life dedicated to driving trucks. I send out my most heartfelt condolences to his life long partner Raelene, their 5 children &amp; partners Emily, Stephanie, Rhianna, Kimberley &amp; Matthew + his 3 beautiful grand children Oliver, Scarlette &amp; baby Ryan + Troys parents, siblings, inlaws &amp; all his nephews and neices. <div>Hi, my name is Ronnie and I am fundraising for my friend and colleague Jenna Wall, her daughter Leah and her baby son due in March, who have all suffered an unthinkable tragedy with the loss of Jenna's fiance and father of her unborn child Matthew Stockman,

<div>In 2013 while 27 weeks pregnant Jenna's partner and Leah's father was involved in a vehicle accident and after 2 weeks on life support lost his life. Leah was born in December 2013 and the following 6 years were spent concentrating on making a loving home for the 2 of them.
</div>
<div>As a single mum, Jenna was a strong independent woman and despite the apparent struggles of single parenting, she created a home for Leah to thrive in. In 2019 Jenna met Matt, a strong grounded man with a huge heart. After dating for 2 years in December 2021 Matt proposed, fulfilling Jenna's hopes and dreams for her future with the love of her life and a husband and father for Leah. Matt longed for a child of his own and after trying and undergoing fertility treatment Jenna surprised Matt with the longed-for news that they were going to have a baby. Jenna, Matt, and Leah were so happy and excited! Matt worked as a long haul truck driver, but now with the baby on the way he decided to stop long haul driving and took a driving job for a local family-owned business.

<div>Tragically 12 days before Christmas on the 13th of December 2022 with Jenna 6 months pregnant Matt was involved in a single-vehicle accident driving a truck from Rockhampton and lost his life.
</div>
<div>Jenna is completely devastated and overwhelmed with grief. Jenna now has the prospect of being a single mother to Leah and her baby boy without the love of her life by her side. With the emotional grief, there is also the financial burden of now being in a single-income home with no financial backup and a baby due in March 2023.
</div>
<div>Jenna has a tough road ahead emotionally and financially and any donations will go towards the funeral and setting up a stable home for Jenna, Leah, and the baby. I would greatly appreciate any help you can give to Jenna and her 2 beautiful children.

On the 29th of October 2019 Callun Winter was tragically taken from his family far too soon in a horrific accident.<br /><br />This is made on behalf of my sister, Karen Winter, who would never normally consider asking for anything, but with Qila (13 years); Xamia (6 years); Ezra (5 years); and due to give birth to a baby very soon (before the end of November) their family will need all the help possible.<br /><br />I know money won’t bring Callun back to support Karen while she gives birth, give him even 5 seconds to meet his unborn baby, stop Xamia and Ezra crying at night because they want Callun to cuddle them goodnight, support Qila as she grows through her teenage years, or even bring Callun back to carve up the Christmas roast.<br /><br />What this will do is remove one stress off Karen at this difficult time, assist with funeral arrangements, pay tuckshop when Karen can’t make lunches, buy nappies for their baby and hopefully help support her so she will not have to stress about returning to work with a newborn baby.<br /><br />I know in these situations we all look for ways to help, so please I’m hoping you can contribute or at least share. Flynn Howlett was devastatingly lost in a motorcycle accident last night on the 14/12/2017.<br /><br />The 24 year old leaves behind his fiancée Emily to care for their three children, Harley (6) and Xavier & Ayrton, (6 month old twins)<br /><br />This loss is not only heartbreaking for Emily, but it is now up to her to care for her 3 children and support them financially.<br /><br />This initiative is to assist with funeral costs and to try and take some of the pressure off of Em, if only for a short time.<br /><br />Any sort of donation will help this beautiful family greatly, and we thank you in advance for your generosity.

<p>My name is Amanda Lockhart, <br /><strong>Disabled and Homeless.</strong><br />On July 22nd, 2014, my mother <strong>Cherie Lockhart</strong> had a horrific and truamatically disabling accident after she fell off her horse, Beau, leaving my beautiful mum fighting for her life at Liverpool Hosptial, ICU. Mum sustained a serious brain truama, a fracture in the back of her skull, a shattered cheek bone, swelling and harsh bruising which they performed a decompressive craniectomy of the brain along with two minor spinal injuries leaving her a tetraplegic with minimal communication and physical skills. She has been lucky to have survived the whole ordeal and was in a coma for three  months, and entered Brain Injury Rehabiliation Unit on the 15/09/2014 and has been receiving ongoing physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and alternative therapy's and needs immense amounts of support, love and strength to try and rehabilitate her to the best she can be. Sadly, Cherie is receiving treatment and responding minimally and will have to have her needs met ongoing.<br />Cherie is now placed in a Disability Support Home in the Westmead district and we are still working to achieve our goal of helping Cherie speak again. <br /><br /><strong>This is we call for your love, support and small donation in Cherie's and I's time of need, as equipment, medication and supportive accommodation bills are very costly.<br />I am here to raise money and awareness to our very extrodinary circumstance. Cherie has always been an active single parent always striving and battling the uphill challenge of raising a little girl on her own and the costs of modern living. Mum is one of the most caring,  beautiful mothers on this earth, always greeting friends with a smile and a quirky comment, a gasbag, a chuckle and a cuddle! Anyone who knows and has ever met her, through friends, family or work knows how brilliant, intelligent, loving, caring, strong, friendly and bubbly she truely is, and anyone who knew her, knew what a bond we have and how much we'd depend on each other. <br />No matter what she still seems to have the power to put a smile on everyone's faces! <strong>SIENNA'S STORY<br /><br />Thank you for taking the time to stop and read this very heartfelt story.<br /><br />Sienna is 7 years old and like any little person has a strong passion for life, loves music, movies, dancing, reading, giving cuddles and loves her family.<br /><br />On Monday 20th April 2015 Sienna was unfortunately hit by a Pizza Van outside her School.  She had bleeding on the brain and required urgent surgery. Sienna was put into an induced coma for 4-5 days. Sienna is out of her coma but still has a very long road to recovery. It has been estimated that her stay in hospital could be for months. <br /><br />I have started this cause to raise money for Sienna to help her and her family in the recovery period. Her parents are unemployed and are raising 2 other children. The extra expenses of fuel, caparking, food, drinks, etc is expensive when you are facing an extensive stay in hospital. <br /><br />Any money you can donate towards this wonderful, inspriational, strongwilled little girl will go a very long way. <br /><br />I appreiate your time and donation.<br /><br />xxx</strong>
