Our beautiful Mum, Jacinta has recently been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive Stage 4 ovarian cancer - at this point she is deemed as not viable for surgery.

There are no words that truly prepare you for hearing something like this about the person who has always been the strongest, happiest and safest person in your world.

Anyone who knows Mum knows that being a mum is what she was made for. Her whole world has always revolved around us kids. She is the person who puts everyone else first, who makes people laugh when they need it most, who walks into a room and never fails to light it up. She has this incredible ability to make the people around her feel loved, safe and happy all whilst not even trying.

Now, we are facing something none of us ever imagined.

Mum is fighting a rare and aggressive Stage 4 ovarian cancer and our family is determined to do absolutely everything we can to give her the best chance possible.

She is preparing to undergo intensive treatment, and we are also hoping to give her the opportunity to travel to a specialised retreat where she can receive chemotherapy alongside supportive and holistic treatments. We want to give Mum every possible opportunity to fight this, to support her body through treatment, and most importantly, to give her more time with us.

We need our Mum.

Blake and I still have so much life ahead of us that we want to share with her. There are so many moments we haven’t had yet, so many memories still waiting to be made.

Reine and Myah, who are only 8 and 6 years old, still need their mum for so much of the life that is ahead of them. They need her at their school events, birthdays, when they are scared, when they are excited, when they need advice, when they need a hug and for all of the ordinary little moments that we never realise are so precious until they are suddenly at risk of being taken away.

We are not ready to imagine a world without her.

Mum has always been the one looking after everyone else, now it is our turn to look after her.
