As a first-generation student born in Mexico, my journey to pursue higher education in the States has been filled with challenges and triumphs. Now, on the brink of graduation, I have the opportunity to share my story and inspire others like me.

<div>As a single mother of one, every day is a balancing act between work, parenthood, and academics. Despite the odds, I've persevered, juggling two jobs to make ends meet and provide for my family. However, despite saving diligently, I find myself short of the funds needed to cover the expenses of an invaluable program that will not only enhance my education but also provide a platform to share my narrative as a first-generation student.

<div>I've always dreamt of traveling, of expanding my horizons beyond the borders I've known. Yet, the furthest I've ventured is to Canada. <div>Hello everyone, My name is Claudia Solorzano. I am Esperanza Solórzano’s daughter. My family and I never thought we would find ourselves in this position. Anyone who knew my mother knows the type of person she was and what she stood for. She was the most kind, giving, and loving person and She never asked for anything in return. She loved nights out with her family from Mexican restaurants with a nice blended margarita, to a quiet night at olive garden with a glass of wine and lasagna. Anytime she could help someone she would, from giving money to the church, money to the homeless, or constant donation to the goodwill. She assisted by being an advocate for people with disabilities.  She was a woman loved by everyone she met, from her beloved co workers at Caltech whom she was a long time employee for the past 30 years ,to the entire community of St. Andrews church in Pasadena. My mother was so welcoming to all of my siblings friends. She would call them her adopted Hijos y hijas. We never felt like we would be in this position ever. If anyone could help, we would greatly appreciate it.
