<div>With a heavy heart, I honor the life of my husband, Justin Brown, a man who meant so much to so many, and whose absence leaves a silence that words can never truly express or fill.

<div>Justin was a Correction Officer, a husband, a father, a brother, and a friend. He was a truly honorable, sincere, and good man, the foundation upon which our family was built. To me, he was a best friend and partner of 20 years. To our 7-year-old son, Gabriel, he was a hero, a protector, and a guiding light. To those who worked beside him, he was respected, dependable, and considered “the epitome of what a C.O. should be.”

<div>Born in Yonkers and later building our life together in Gardiner, New York, Justin carried a quiet strength and a deep sense of responsibility. At just 33 years old, he lived a life rooted in love, commitment, and sacrifice, always working to provide us with security, comfort, and unconditional love. He worked hard every single day not for recognition, but for his family, his most valued treasure.

<div>As a proud Correctional Officer, C.O Brown served with honor. He showed up every day, did his job, and did it right, often working extra hours, without complaint, to provide for us. He earned the respect of his colleagues not only for his work ethic but especially for his character. He was someone you could count on, someone whose presence alone brought steadiness and reassurance. I saw this reflected in the commitment and support of his fellow officers every day.

<div>It is often the simplest truths that cut the deepest, and the truth is: Justin was taken from us far too soon. His life was tragically lost in a motorcycle accident during his commute to work, a moment that should have been ordinary, but instead became unimaginable. As always, my husband was on his way to do what he always did: provide for our family.

</div>

<div>His loss is not just tragic it is devastating. I will feel it in the quiet moments at home, in the absence of his laughter and his smile, as well as in the milestones he should have been here to witness with us all. His missing presence will be felt by our family, friends, colleagues, and all the lives he touched, from now and forever.

</div>

<div>Today is not only about grief, it is also about remembering who Justin was: a man who loved deeply, gave selflessly, and shared those qualities with everyone in his life. A man who stood as a pillar for our family and a source of strength for all who knew him.

</div>

<div>In this time of unimaginable loss, my son and I now face a future without the man who held so much together. As a community, we have the opportunity to stand where Justin once stood; to offer support, to help lift us up, and to help carry us through the impossibly difficult days ahead. Every contribution and every act of kindness reflects the love Justin gave so freely, and gives others a chance to return that love to his family.

<div>Larome “Tone” Johnson was a retired, well-respected correction officer with the NYS Department of Corrections, a loving husband, father, son, brother, and amazing friend to all who knew and loved him.  His smile , sarcasm and style filled any room he walked into. After bravely overcoming both COVID and cancer, his life was brutally and senselessly taken in a dispute with a neighbor, resulting in the end of a beautiful life. . His passing has left his wife, children, father, siblings, friends, and coworkers heartbroken and searching for comfort in their faith.

<div>Guillermo Mollins, a dedicated City of Newburgh firefighter and proud member of Local 589, and also a U.S. Army veteran, was seriously injured last week when he was struck by a wrong-way driver in a devastating motor vehicle accident. Due to the severity of his injuries, he requires multiple ongoing surgeries and a long recovery. Because he is relatively new to the department, his available sick leave will only cover him for a limited time and once that is exhausted, he will need to take a leave of absence to recover, during which time he will receive no pay.

<div>He is a loving father to his 10 year old son and donations raised through this fund will help offset medical costs, cover essential living expenses, and provide stability and support for his son during this incredibly difficult time.
