- Hello, my name is Amber Wyzomirski & I’ve started this GoFundMe to help me be able to go & stay with my mother in the hospital during one of the most difficult periods of her life. My 82-year-old mother, Evalee Nickles, is currently in the ICU at UK Hospital in Lexington, KY where she is fighting for her life against a bilateral subdural hematoma, a.k.a a brain bleed, that had pooled on both hemispheres of her brain. I had to call an ambulance for her this past Monday after she was complaining of feeling too weak to walk & was experiencing some mild confusion. Things escalated quickly from there with her being diagnosed with the brain bleed at a local hospital, followed by her being rushed to UK Hospital, a large, state of the art facility, via helicopter & then into surgery today, Tuesday, February 10th. This was all in a bid to remove the excess blood & fluid from her brain. Thankfully, she made it through surgery, but not without some complications - she had an irregular heartbeat during the surgery which required immediate medication, was struggling to fully wake up from the anesthesia, & was vomiting uncontrollably once she had begun to stir. In light of these issues, her medical team decided the best course of action at the moment would be to sedate her & place her on a ventilator. She is currently in ICU. I very much wish to go & be with her during these trying times of course, but I am unfortunately out of PTO at my job & simply cannot afford to eat the wage loss from taking off without pay, as I am currently the only breadwinner in my household. That’s why the goal of this GoFundMe is to raise enough money to be able to afford to take off some time to go & be with her, stay in a hotel at night as they will not allow me to stay with her overnight in the ICU, & afford some modest meals for myself & my loving, supportive husband, who will of course be with me. I have calculated that one week of this comes out to around $1,500, so that is our goal. Any amount you could give is beyond appreciated, as is sharing of the Go Fund Me campaign. Thank you for taking time out to read this & God bless!

Help Amber Be with Her Mom in ICU
23% complete - Help Pay for Bladder Procedure Hello, everyone. Thank you very much for taking the time to check out my GoFundMe. My name is Amber Wyzomirski, and I’m asking for help with covering the upfront cost of a bladder procedure I desperately need and only have 10 days to secure funding for. I’ve been dealing with a lifelong bladder disease called interstitial cystitis. It causes severe inflammation, pain, a feeling of heaviness in the lower abdomen, and a constant, urgent feeling of having to urinate regardless of how much I actually do so. It was more manageable when I was younger, able to be controlled with some tricky diet modifications and medication. However, it drastically increased in its severity over this past summer, causing me to miss work and, honestly, be incredibly miserable. This turn of events necessitated a visit to my specialist doctor, a 3-hour car trip one way. After meeting with me, my doctor has determined I have pelvic floor dysfunction as well, a condition that complicates and exacerbates my I.C. diagnosis. He also is not ruling out cancer due to the sudden and seemingly inexplicable increase in symptoms. In light of this, my physician has planned to perform a procedure that is a mixture of exploratory and medicinal treatment, with intent to follow up with specific physical therapy that is targeted at treating pelvic floor dysfunction. I must be sedated for the first half of this plan due to the levels of discomfort associated with it, which means a brief hospital stay. There will, of course, be follow-up appointments for the aforementioned specific physical therapy. I had been planning accordingly and was looking forward to the relief this all could possibly offer me. However, I was met with a devastating turn of events today. After speaking with the surgical registration staff, I was told that my insurance had determined I was to pay for a portion of the procedure upfront (it totaled in the thousands), and that this must be done before my scheduled procedure date of November 3rd. After some back-and-forth, I was given 10 days to try to secure the funds. As some of you may know, my husband Marc has been dealing with his own extreme medical issues since last year. This has left us down an income, as he is now disabled, and we are simply unable to pay the cost of my treatment on my income alone… That is why we are humbly asking for your kindness in the form of donations toward helping me get to the hospital for my procedure, pay for the procedure itself, cover a one (1) night hotel room stay for my loving husband, who will be accompanying me, of course, and travel and co-pay fees for the six (6) weeks of physical therapy sessions. We have calculated that this will come out to be around $5,000, so that is our goal amount. I have to get healthy and able-bodied again because I am the sole provider for and caretaker of my family. We deeply and dearly appreciate every donation (and prayer, kind thought, and well-wish, too). Thank you so much for reading this and God bless.
