<div>I am sad to announce that Michael Warwick, age 52 tragically passed away due to an unexpected cardiac arrest while driving our car on March 11 th, 2023 in Williamston, South Carolina.

<div>Michael had left the house earlier that day to do a few errands.
</div>
<div>On his way home, he had a heart attack.
</div>
<div>According to the police and the coroner's office, the cardiac episode killed him instantly.
</div>
<div>He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Greenville Memorial Hospital.
</div>

<div>This will probably come as no surprise to many of you, those of us who knew him, knew that he had some major medical problems. Over the last year, he seemed to be doing much better.

<div>He had a job that he enjoyed, where he could work remotely and was making strides to rebuild his life after years of illness. However, Michael had nothing in the way of insurance or savings.
</div>

<div>It is unimaginable and immensely painful to even address him in the past tense.
</div>
<div>I met Michael when I was 13 years old, at Crocket Middle School in Amarillo Texas, and he remained one of my greatest friends through the years.

<div>We had a chance to talk about his end-of-life wishes. He didn't want a big funeral or memorial.

<div>We all have stories of Michael and his misadventures over the years, and I know when I think back on them they always bring a smile to my face. On my part, I will be remembering him by buying a cheesecake. Doing a facial mask, and binge-watching Golden Girls reruns.

Due to him just starting a new job, he is without insurance at this time.  The doctors have found a main artery that is 80% blocked.  He will need to undergo surgery as well as physical therapy.  They are not sure at this time what permanant damage may have been caused, but we are hopeful!  We are asking for prayers and any help you might be able to give during this trying time for him and the family.

<div>Hello! I'm Beth Carter, and I'm in my junior year at Mississippi College. While I've been here there have been a lot of opportunities that I've had the privilege of being a part of, such as being an active in Swannanoa social tribe (and an officer two years in a row!), marching band colorguard, archery team, and taking classes to work towards my major in studio arts. Another very important part of this process is my minor in Spanish, and I've had the opportunity this spring to go study abroad in Salamanca, Spain! I've always wanted the chance to get out of the south and explore other parts of the world, and this chance especially appeals to me because I've been working hard towards becoming fluent in Spanish. This study abroad program will be an integral part of that process along with a life experience I think anyone should take if given the chance.

Rhonda Loveless Funeral Expenses

I am just one of countless former Christians in the South whose life has been positively impacted by Neil Carter as I've deconverted from evangelicalism to atheism/secular humanism. Neil's writings, podcasts, and videos have been a blanket of comfort after a traumatizing loss of God and religion.<br /><br />I have recently learned that Neil is in great need of a new laptop so that he can start recording this important creative work again from which so many of us have benefitted. Neil is living in the South on a modest school teacher's salary, and also has four lovely, brilliant daughters to support. New laptops are low on the priority list.<br /><br />As his supporters, perhaps we could do a little something in return for his many gifts to us. If we each pitch in a few bucks, Neil could purchase a new laptop and get those creative juices flowing again. <br /><br />Zero pressure. But if you have an extra $3 or so, it would be pretty cool to make this happen.<br /><br />By the way, I have not asked Neil for permission to do this, because I don't want him to say no ha ha. :)<br /><br />I will provide full disclosure to Neil on all funds donated, and he can vouch for the accuracy of those records to all who participate.<br /><br />Let's do this, heathens.

Help Neil Start Creating Again With a New Laptop!

On 02/25/21, Mark Kargel was called home to heaven suddenly. He leaves behind a loving wife, three children, and three grandchildren.  Taken from us much too quickly,  we are all feeling the loss of this wonderful man who was full of practical wisdom, a helping hand for figuring out how to fix anything from a car to a generator to a broken pipe, a quick smile, and a good stubborn streak. His impact on people's lives extends from Minnesota where he was born down to his home of many years here in Texas.  A gofundme account has been created to ease the burden on his wife and children associated with the funeral and burial expenses.
