On May 28th, 2026, she was detained by ICE in Asheville, North Carolina, and transferred to the Stewart Detention Center in Lumpkin, Georgia. Today, she faces an uncertain future while fighting to remain in the U.S., the only home she has ever known.

The father has been working diligently to obtain legal immigration status, investing years of time, effort, and financial resources into following the legal process. Despite those efforts, he is now being detained, leaving his family to face an overwhelming emotional and financial crisis.

In Loving Tribute to Delilah: Support for the Steenberg's

<div>Hi, my name is Ariel. My sister Ashley and I unexpectedly lost our father John Beckman Lundell (Jay) on February 4th. My dad had been in and out of the hospital over the last few months. He had surgery for a bowel obstruction, developed sepsis, then most recently pneumonia. Yesterday morning, he had an appointment with his doctor discussing treatment for the pneumonia. Unfortunately, it had already progressed to the point where he wasn't getting enough oxygen, so his friend called an ambulance. My father lost his pulse en route to the hospital, but they managed to resuscitate him before arriving at the hospital. Once they got there, they discovered his medical directive that if it was his time, we were to let him go as organically as possible. So, we respected his wishes and waited through the evening until he passed at around 8:17 pm.
