<div>My name is Marie Jane Machin and I am raising money to help save my parents house from foreclosure at the end of July 2026. My parents are in their 60s and 70s, and my mom still works sometimes 7 days a week. I am a freelance photographer, and while I was able to help them out in the last year, I've reached a point where my assistance is not enough. I am their only child, and I love my parents very much. This is the home I grew up in, and it's the home my mom grew up in, too.

<div>This situation has happened organically. Between rising prices of BGE, water, health insurance and food, my parents were the people who were just sitting above the line of not being able to make their bills. As the news began to mention rising costs due to inflation, my family felt that financial squeeze immediately. They have tried selling things off to get ahead, doing without to see if they could close the gap, and it's to the point where we need to ask for financial assistance in order to save the house from foreclosure.

<div>Part of this is also due to my grandmother having been in hospice for the last three years, and part of this is due to rising costs of literally everything in the US currently. Regardless, there is a need and I need to do something about it. 
</div>
<div>The immediate need is for 6k to pay off 2 months of overdue mortgage and pay some overdue bills like BGE. Any remaining money will be saved to put towards future emergencies or to pay an advance on their mortgage to prevent this from happening again. This is why the goal is 12k. I can't help them on my own, and believe me when I say I have been trying.

<div>If I had one wish it would be to save my parents house. Being in their 60s and 70s, the stress of possibly becoming unhoused has taken a toll of both of my parents. Both of them wake up in a panic, experiencing dry heaves due to the stress. They both are diabetic and have high blood pressure. We have a history of stroke and heart attacks on both sides of my family tree.

<div>I can't watch this destroy my family, and I WON'T. If you know me personally, you may associate me with being a hard worker. I pride myself in being a determined person, and I am determined to help my parents save their house.

Help Save Marie's Family Home from Foreclosure

<div>Reality is setting in…. A week ago today, Ozzy became extremely sick. She refused to walk, eat, move, drink &amp; stopped looking at me &amp; started hiding under tables, in corners. She is only 3 years old. I knew something terrible was happening inside of her, so I bit the bullet this past Saturday &amp; brought her in to the Emergency Vet of Annapolis (photos attached).

<div>An x-ray showed she had a blockage and she was at the point of if I didn’t keep her there until Monday when she could get surgery, she would die. To choose my savings account over my dog dying is a no-brainer for me. I gave every penny I have to my name to save Ozzy’s life. And it did. She is on day 4 of healing. Ozzy’s recovery has been extremely rough. From uncontrollable bowels, to diapers, to resisting walking, to carrying her up &amp; downstairs a million times per day, &amp; we all love dealing with a dog with a cone, right? It’s been tough doing it all by myself plus working full time. I wake up at 3 am and I get off work at 4:15 pm. Luckily, I have an amazing dog walker that is willing to help with her issues while I work my long shifts.

<div>I rescued Ozzy 1.5 years ago from a puppy mill situation. I had no idea what I was in for . The last year &amp; a half, I have spent literally all my free time &amp; tons of $$ training her, tons of vet visits to help alleviate her anxiety and fearfulness, hours of socializing her every single day, desensitizing her to triggers &amp; finally confidence building through new experiences (she has an EXTREME case of Separation Anxiety, diagnosed by my trainer Hannah from Baltimore K9 Tutors).

<div>Ozzy is my first dog and to say her special needs &amp; care hasn’t been extremely difficult to balance next to my own sanity and friendships would be an understatement. Alas, I decided my number one goal would be to help Ozzy’s confidence &amp; keep going with her progress. Which has meant putting everything in my life aside because she has required that much care (as many of my friends have seen and dealt with ).

I know with an attorney they will prove my innocence, and these allegations will be dismissed. With a public defender, I fear I will be at the mercy of the judicial system. With the help of friends, I have been able to make bail and begin seeking legal counsel.

Free Veronica Legal Fund

<div>On Saturday 3/22, Townes was having issues with bowel movements and diarrhea here and there but was in generally good spirits. On Sunday 3/23, he started vomiting early in the morning until 5pm when he started vomiting some blood. At that point we decided to take him to an emergency animal hospital. At Falls Road Animal Hospital, Townes was given supportive medications and was sent home with us to be supervised with prescription medications to aid his recovery. After returning home, Townes was lethargic, hardly eating and drinking but appeared to be doing better than before with no vomiting and keeping some fluids and solids down. As of Monday 3/24 at 10pm, Townes finally seemed ready for a short walk however on our walk he had severe straining and passed a lot of blood rectally. At this point, we took him straight to the animal hospital in Belair MD to figure it out, since Falls Road was in the process of moving. At the Belair Animal Hospital, our bills racked up to $1018 in addition to the $438 spent at Falls Road Animal Hospital the day before. Today, Tuesday 3/25, we had to spend another $657 with his primary veterinarian at Northwind Animal Hospital to run tests and get to the bottom of what’s going on with him. This brings our total to $2113.

<div>Townes parents, Will &amp; Lauren, were not approved for care credit due to our outstanding debt and could really use the help of our community. <div>As an update, Townes was given a general diagnoses of aggressive gastritis or pancreatitis, likely due to a reaction to something he ate. Currently he is doing much better and in good spirits and happily eating his prescribed diet but we are keeping a close eye on him in the case he declines again. For my 30th birthday there is nothing I’d like more than to be able to afford to rid my face and neck hair permanently. I shave very frequently and even when I do my facial hair is so dark and thick you can still see shadow immediately after I’ve shaved. It is definitely one of the biggest contributors to my dysphoria and would do wonders for my mental health and overall well-being to have it removed.<br /><br />The place where I was recommended has a package deal of 8 sessions for $1299 (which is a few hundred cheaper than paying for each session individually). It will likely take more than this to completely and permanently get rid of my facial hair but it would be a great start!<br /><br />Any little bit helps!<br />Thank you so much~

Help Jade Afford Laser Hair Removal

In the early hours of January 19th a few friends started out on a casual duck hunting trip.  Tragically two local men are still missing after their boat overturned.  Coast Guards continue their search efforts with the goal of recovery rather than rescue. <br /><br />Stephen Lamp was a great friend, brother, and loving husband to his high school sweetheart Lynnette. He was known by all as a fantastic father to their three young boys ages 5, 3 and 4 months. While we try to hold on to a little hope, Lynnette and the boys will need our support in many ways.<br /><br />At just 23 this young family had it all but unfortunately life can change in an instant.  This is the kind of story that will affect our community for a long time. We all want to do anything we can to help and this page is meant to allow us to start that in some small way.

Lamp - Missing Hunter Family Fund

Recently our good friend Ren has been faced with some rough times.  With his permission, we are creating this page to raise funds in an attempt to alleviate some of the financial hardship that have resulted from his recent medical problems.  <br /><br />A little background: For the last several years Ren has been suffering from deteriorating vision which his doctors believe is likely caused from a rare neurological disease. Specifically, his immune system may be targeting his own body. After countless doctor visits, multiple procedures and various medications his vision remains impaired and unfortunately has shown little improvement.<br /><br />In the last several months, Ren noticed some additional, alarming and increasingly worsening symptoms.  Specifically, he has had difficulty walking, trouble concentrating and maintaining his balance, and a myriad of other issues.  <br /><br />These symptoms eventually culminated in a recent inpatient stay at Johns Hopkins.  During his admission, his doctors obtained imaging which showed lesions in his brain.  Although still uncertain, his doctors believe his new symptoms are likely related to the same condition that has been affecting his eye for the last several years.  Ren is scheduled for a brain biopsy which will hopefully provide some more information.<br /><br />At this point there are far more questions than answers.   Ren is unable to work and is quickly depleting his savings.  Although he is in the process of applying for disability, his medical expenses are still in the tens of thousands of dollars and are accumulating exponentially (even with insurance, which he thankfully has).<br /><br />This is where we come in!  We all absolutely adore our brilliant, talented, goofy, tough-on-the-outside-but-puppy-dogs-and-candy-on-the-inside Renaldo. He is a fantastic friend, incredible artist  (albeit questionable musician).  He is someone who would always have our back when in a bind.  Although we cannot remove the stresses of his new medical problems, we can however help to alleviate the financial burden that he is struggling with.<br /><br />All help, large or small, will be greatly appreciated by him.  If you cannot help monetarily, then give him a call or send him a text and let him know you care about him and see how you can help.  He often needs rides to the doctors and enjoys company (although he may never admit it).<br /><br />Thanks for reading.
