<br />Keith Fluegel USMC veteran and father sadly lost his battle with PTSD and Depression on 5/16/2020. This fund is being established to help support the mother of his children and to set up a trust for Ayden Abbey 10, Dean Fluegel 1, and yet to be born Phoenix Fluegel. <br />Keith bravely served our country as a United States Marine in both Iraq and Afghanistan. He soon met our sister Anae, and proved not only to be a man of great character, but also a great role model to her first born son Ayden when he needed it the most. Keith proudly embraced and fathered Ayden as his own son. He and our sister built a close and loving relationship that soon led to the birth of their first son Dean. He provided for his boys and our sister and strived to always make things better for them all. In November of 2019 the family was informed that Anae and Keith were again expecting in July of 2020. When the Covid-19 Pandemic hit in early 2020 Keith was able to retain employment and became the sole provider for his family as our sisters employment was forced to close. <br />We would like to thank Keith for all that he gave for our sister and his children.  As fellow veterans we would like to honor him and his family by doing what ever we can to help our sister and support their children in their time of need. Keith’s Kids Fund

Basement Transmissions, an all-purpose and all-genres arts and music venue, has been a cornerstone of the the Erie area art and music scene since 1998. BT has established a reputation for providing quality shows and exhibitions for musicians and artists throughout the tri-state region. Over the years, BT has put on upwards of 1000 shows and exhibitions, and released over 25 cds, records, and cassettes. We have done all we can to help as many people succeed in the arts as possible, and in September of 2011, we opened our doors to the public in a small location on State Street. We had countless punk, metal, hardcore, electronic, hip hop, and rock shows at the old location and earned a reputation as Erie’s premiere all-ages venue. <br /><br /><br />In 2014, we purchased the historic Roadhouse Theatre building located at 145 West 11th Street, and since that time we have continued our support to the local scene. The new larger and much improved space has allowed us to begin bringing larger national touring acts to the Erie community, as well as an even larger variety of regional acts, and hosting several vendor markets (such as the Punk Rock Flea Market) and fundraisers for the community (such as Humanity Against Heroin). In the last year we’ve hosted acts such as Every Time I Die, I See Stars, K Camp, and Carnifex, and our upcoming events include names like Insane Clown Posse, Hawthorne Heights, Randy and Mr Lahey, and Suicide Silence. In that time, we’ve also upgraded the venue to include a security staff and a brand new stage lighting setup with LEDs.  We also now provide practice spaces to bands, as well as lessons to young musicians and various workshops and classes, and also host work from local artists throughout the venue. We house a church on Sundays called “The Cross” and give many struggling artists and musicians a positive and productive environment. <br /><br /><br />We are very proud of all that we have done and are doing, but there is an extremely large amount of overhead cost to run a large venue like this. We have huge expenses, taxes, and incur all sorts of expensive problems within the building. I'm heading down there with jazz journalist Ed Hazell, and we'll spend seven full days at the RivBea Archive preparing the coming book version of my Sam Rivers Sessionography. Sam's daughter Monique has 40 bins full of material—Studio RivBea schedules, photographs, correspondence, tour lists, memorabilia, scores, and who knows what else— and we'll be going through it with our laptops, scanners, and hard drives so we can carry it home and build a book worthy of Sam's legacy. Hi everyone, this is Marly Rivera. <br /><br />I wanted to inform you all that I am going to leave this fund open until January, but wanted to let you know that I am going to withdraw the funds we have collected so far to start sending them to worthwhile causes.<br /><br />You have collected $34,891 (so far), which is incredible, and that puts us $15,000 away from our goal, which I hope to meet in the next couple of months.<br /><br />After the charges from this site, we received a transfer of $ 32,003.61 to my account.<br /><br />The first $10,000 dollars were just distributed to the Rene Rivera Relief Fund. My beloved mother had to have an unexpected open heart surgery three weeks ago. For this I am thankful, it saved her life. My mother has spent over 20 years cleaning homes in the Erie community and is one of the best at it because she loves to do it!<br />                                     The physical, energetic demands and nature of this work does not serve well during the recovery period. By doctors orders she will be unable to return to work for a 6 month time period. She does plan on rebuilding her clientele after her recovery but is in need of immediate support.<br />                                    In behalf of my mother and in effort to help eliminate the threat of her losing her apartment (home) I am reaching out in hopes to raise $5,000.  The amount raised is intended to cover the cost of 4 months of her rent and find a used automobile to help create a more efficient way of transportation for her.<br />                                      My mother is always so quick to offer a helping hand to anyone she says "it gives me a sense of purpose to help others" I am hoping by raising this money for her we can remind her that sometimes our purpose needs to be as simple as feeling loved and supported. Heal Thy Heart

This isn't just a journey into the "tiny house movement." It's a journey towards freedom. The idea is to show, through demonstration, that there is an easier path to the American dream.  "Buy an education, buy a car, get a job, buy a house, get the girl, have babies, pay for their education and live happily ever after..."  The problem is that the education doesn't guarantee the job, the job doesn't guarantee the house, etc...  <br />Why is it that we allow ourselves to be taught to start the race by giving the other person a handicap? This is a message to the millennials (and other free thinkers). We've (generations before you) f**ked it up long enough.  You guys are off to a good start. You're learning that the economy is not failing, it's just changing... YOU are changing it simply by not following the rules. <br />This will be an interactive step by step of how to avoid falling into the same trap like so many generations before you.<br /><br />Q: What are you talking about you crazy old man? We're not paying for your midlife crisis.<br /><br />This is true, and I'm not asking that of you. What I'm asking for is your belief. If you listen to the media, the world is in crisis: economic bubbles, global warming, energy crisis, world hunger, etc. The current system clearly isn't working and there isn't going to be some messiah to save us all.  So what do we do? While I love nature, I have no interest in running away to the woods to leave society to fend for themselves. <br /><br />We have to start leading by example, open communication, and reach compromises. Yes, not everyone can live in a 72 square foot home comfortably, but I've always tried to use extremes as an example of how little we truly need for survival/happiness. We need to start working together and accepting that every single one of us is in some way responsible for the current state of the world. The sooner that we do such a thing, the sooner we can start fixing it.<br /><br />Q: Okay, so what's your proposal? <br /><br />Yes, I may be gaining a humble home for myself and my unborn child, but I'm not asking you to give me the money. I'm asking you to lend it. For every $50+ "donation," I will pay it back plus 10% within the year. That's 5 bucks profit for just lending a stranger 50 bucks. I'll put a limitation on incentives in order to not get "overfunded." $5 seems better than an overpriced t-shirt. For every $1-49 donation, you can come visit the site after it's built. While there, you can see and feel the inner workings of the self sufficient design. <br /><br />Can't make it to Erie?<br /><br />That's okay, I'll also be taking this journey online for everyone to experience. From the moment that the first donation is made, I will start working on it all while blogging and sharing pictures/video and answering comments and questions along the way. Also, if the project gets fully funded, I'll spend the following 150 weeks giving $50 to other progressive ideas. I'll also use the money saved after purchase/build to work on other projects such as a 55-mile human-powered vehicle (prototype begun), self-powered waterwheel, controlled-environment greenhouses... There's tons of ideas to work on and share with the world.<br /><br />Q:  So what? You're some kind of batman-esque  billionaire mad scientist?<br /><br />No, actually I'm just a school bus driver. Essentially, I have too much time on my hands, so I study human behavior and the problems that arise because of it. I also read a lot about possible solutions and analyze the data in order to find the best possibility.<br /><br />So why not? Kick your feet up, relax... We'll get to know each other. Makes no sense in boring you with floor plans or methodology, we'll get into the specifics when the time is appropriate.
