Good morning, afternoon, evening everybody. Go Fund Me seems to be auditing me, for lack of a better term, so I'm here to answer their questions and set things straight. They are refusing to deliver any donations until I do, so I'm happy to sort this out. Here are their questions: "How you are related to the intended recipient That you will be transferring the funds in your name How exactly you will be delivering the funds to the intended recipient If you are managing the funds on their behalf, please specify this." I'm related to the recipient through a 35 year friendship/marriage/ then friendship. When this GFM was started it was the day Leland told me about his cancer diagnosis. I immediately called T'Hud and asked for her help, as I've never started a Go Fund Me before, and T'Hud has helped many people through their crisis. When she put this together I was named as the beneficiary. Leland was unsure about us creating this fundraiser, as he is very private. For reasons of his own, he uses PayPal for all of his banking transactions and closed his actual bank account. But he has expressed to me many times that he trusts me implicitly , and that is a direct quote. The day we started the fundraiser I opened an account on his behalf, because GFM will not transfer into PayPal accounts. Every donation that comes in is immediately transferred by me to his PayPal account. He has not been able to work for 6, 7 months so everything goes into his well being : rent, bills, groceries, transport, etc. I am not attempting to keep or control his money. Everything that comes in, everything the donations pay for are to improve his quality of life, and we discuss everything. I had to open the bank account as there was no other way to receive all of your generous donations. I'm not "managing" his funds, I'm only the messenger. Leland will post an update soon, if it helps anyone who is unsure of me or of how we've arranged this. I hope this helps. And thank you, thank you, thank you for all of the kindness you've given and shown to Lee. Photos taken last summer on the Wonder Wheel at Coney, and in London, 1998.
This is all I got right now, told to me via text by Leland: " You should probably know this:my PSA count has gone up. That means I've built up a resistance to my current cancer medication and we'll have to think of something else." Fuck. More soon, I'll be seeing him this week.
