 In the Isle of Harris on Sunday evening (25/10/26), retained fireman Stewart MacLean was finished with a call out when he went home to Rodel to have a shower. On his way home, he discovered that his own house was on fire and even though the fire service attended as soon as was possible, the family have lost everything but the clothes they had with them.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Thankfully due to there having been a power outage earlier, the family (his pregnant wife Karen and young daughter Isla) had decamped to Strond and were safe from the fire.

 Please help with any donation, no matter how small, to give this local Harris family a head start on rebuilding their lives and possessions.

Help Stewart, Karen and Isla after their tragic house fire

<div>On the 12th of October 2026, the Kilda fishing boat of Brevig, Isle of Lewis was tragically lost whilst fishing in the Port of Ness area, south of the Butt of Lewis. Sadly, crew members Norman "Tam" Murray, 40, and Murdo Morrison, 23, remain missing, while the body of skipper Douglas Craigie, 49, has been recovered.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This unimaginable tragedy has had a devastating impact on the whole community, and our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the three men. We pray that Tam and Murdo are found.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The fishermen have left behind families and young children, Katie, Seumas, Esther, Lauren and Courtney. We also remember John Angus who has lost his boat whilst experiencing significant health problems.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The Western Isles Fishermen's Association wants to do all it can to assist these families at this time and in the future. It has engaged with the communities of Carloway, Barvas, Ness and Stornoway in identifying key individuals who will ensure that all the families who have suffered, due to one of the worst sea tragedies in the Isle of Lewis for a generation, will be supported for the future.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Please donate so that these families and their children are supported through the tough and challenging times ahead.

Raise Funds for the Families affected by the Kilda Tragedy

<div>With permission of Angus’s family, I wanted to share this latest update on wee Angus. He is the happiest/smiliest wee man, as you can see from his picture and since taking unwell has now become a bit brother too ❤️. Angus went for a simple blood test because he was a wee bit out of sorts and now this is the latest update from his family. It has been highlighted to me to me, that I forgot to mention, this poor family are over 500 miles away from home, and whilst away with the clothes on their back and nothing else, they have welcomed into the world Angus’s wee brother Paddy also. Angus you have the most amazing families behind you. ❤️
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Angus update
</div>
<div>I don’t even know how to put this into words. Angus’s liver has gone into failure. He is currently in the ICU in an induced coma to allow his wee body to stay as stable as possible.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>At this point, Angus needs a liver transplant. He is at the top of the transplant list in Europe, and we have just found out that Steffen (Dad) is a match. If a liver isn’t offered today, surgery will begin tomorrow morning with Steffen and Angus.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Once again, the support we are receiving has left us completely astounded. We feel so incredibly loved and supported by everyone, and honestly, that is what keeps us going through the bad moments.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Steffen will need somewhere to recover after surgery, so we are asking if anyone has a flat available, knows someone who may have something, or has any information about short-term renting in London. It would need to be near King’s College Hospital in Camberwell, as we need to be able to get to Angus as quickly as possible.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This is our worst nightmare, and right now we are taking everything 10 minutes at a time and just trying to get through this horrible time.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for every message, prayer, share and bit of support. Please keep Angus and Steffen in your thoughts.
</div>

<div><br />
</div>
<div>They have been away from home a long time now and renting in London won’t be cheap. If anyone would like to donate, to take away the financial burden at this horrific time then please do so here.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Alanna and Steffen are overwhelmed by everyone’s support so far.
</div>

Let’s all help Angus and his family

<div>
 Hi im jennifer, my partner Piero and I are asking for your help for our neighbour and friend Danny, who put himself in real danger to help protect us and our terrified children during an extremely frightening incident. We had been desperately waiting for police to arrive after a tourist experiencing a manic episode became violent, attacking his own father and then trying to smash his way through our restaurant door to get to him. With our children inside and no police in sight, we called Danny and others for help. Danny came immediately, knowing the situation was dangerous, simply because we needed help. Tragically, the danger followed him. The man returned in his father’s stolen car and deliberately rammed Danny’s pickup truck twice, violently enough to leave Danny with broken ribs and whiplash and his truck completely written off. The aftermath has been devastating. Danny is a fisherman and depends on his physical strength to earn a living, but he is now unable to work for at least six weeks while he recovers. He came to us when we were scared and vulnerable, and it breaks our hearts that he is now paying such a heavy price for simply trying to help. We cannot take away his injuries or take back what happened, but we can stand beside him now. Please help us give something back to the man who didn’t think twice about putting himself in harm’s way for us. Every donation, no matter how small, could help Danny get through these difficult weeks. ❤️

Help us help Danny ❤️

<div>Help James fight MS with HSCT treatment
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Hello, my name is James Coull, I am 44 years old, and I live on the Isle of Skye with my wife and children, the youngest being only 9 years old. I am reaching out for your support in a battle I never thought I would have to face.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In December 2023 I received the life changing diagnosis of RRMS, relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis. I first noticed that something was not right in March 2023, when I lost control of my legs on a short walk which previously would not have been a problem for me to complete. Unfortunately, at present there is no cure for MS. Most people, me included, are prescribed DMT’s (Disease Modifying Therapy)in the form of pills, with the aim of these being at best to reduce the frequency of MS relapses to delay the disability progression. It is expected that my symptoms will remain chronic with a slow decline in function in a fluctuating pattern. This has taken its toll on me physically and mentally; I have had to give up my job and even the simplest of every day tasks can now be overwhelming for me.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>After much consideration and conversations with individuals who have been in the same situation , I have found a treatment that can be highly effective and enhance quality of life. Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation, HSCT is an established chemotherapy medical treatment demonstrated to be very effective at halting disease progression in neurologic autoimmune diseases, such as MS. The aim of this treatment is to reboot my immune system to stop it from attacking the protective covering of nerve cells in my brain, optic nerve and spinal cord, called the myelin sheath.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Initially my stem cells will be harvested and stored under strict conditions and chemotherapy would then be administered to further eliminate the immune cells that are responsible for the underlying autoimmune disease, this will mean that I will experience a ‘temporary transient immunodeficiency’ period where I will be extremely susceptible to infection. When the cleaning of the immune cells is completed, my hematopoietic stem cell autograft will be retrieved from storage and infused back into my bloodstream. After a period, my immune system will be restored with healthy cells and devoid of auto-toxic cells.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This treatment is not an option for me through the NHS, which is why I need to go to Mexico for world-class medical attention that is internationally recognised, as you can imagine it comes at a significant cost, which brings me to why I have set up this Just Giving page. I would be extremely grateful for any support you can provide, and I express my heartfelt gratitude in advance. Every donation, no matter the amount will bring me ever closer to regaining the quality of life I once enjoyed and gives me the willpower to beat this disease. Once again, I thank you for taking the time to read this and any support you can offer.
</div>

Help James fight MS with HSCT in Mexico

<div>I am raising money in aid of multiple sclerosis also known as MS. MS is a long-lasting chronic disease of the central nervous system. It is thought to be an autoimmune disorder, a condition in which the body attacks itself by mistake. MS is an unpredictable disease that affects people differently.
</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>My grandpa, James ‘Jimmy’ Logan was diagnosed with MS in 1995. He then became chronically ill in 2004. Over the years his condition has become progressively worse. During this time he has gone from walking and standing to completely wheelchair dependent. I have never seen my grandpa walk or stand.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>He has never been upstairs in his own house.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>My intentions are to walk or run 5k everyday in February. In order to raise funds for MS
