<div>I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart to share the story of my daughter, Tiffany, who is currently fighting for her life. On a fateful evening in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Tiffany, a vibrant 26-year-old, was discovered unresponsive in a tub of water. Thanks to the swift actions of those around her, Tiffany's heart began to beat again, but she struggled to breathe and was placed on a ventilator.

<div>The medical team initially diagnosed her with aspirated pneumonia, but further tests revealed that she had aspirated water into her lungs, leading to a serious lung infection. Additionally, Tiffany has developed infections in other parts of her body, including a wound on her buttock. The lack of oxygen during the incident has resulted in damage to two small areas of her brain.

<div>After days of uncertainty and fear, there is a glimmer of hope as Tiffany has been able to breathe on her own after being taken off the ventilator. However, the road to recovery is long and uncertain. We are eagerly awaiting the assessments of physical therapists, speech therapists, and occupational therapists to understand the extent of Tiffany's challenges and the path ahead.

<div>As a family, we are facing immense emotional and financial burdens as we support Tiffany through this critical time. Tiffany's current medical expenses have already reached $41,000, and the expenses for bringing her home using medical transportation are very high.
</div>

<div>Both myself and her father will need to continue working during Tiffany's recovery, which means taking time off without pay to be by her side and provide care. I am hoping to raise enough funds to also support myself in staying at the hospital with Tiffany for at least another week, if possible, and then to be there when it is time to bring her home.
</div>

<div>Jim has been a dedicated member of the EMS family since 1992. He has proudly served several communities throughout central and eastern Massachusetts. He has been a teacher, leader, and a mentor to many over his tenure. Jim started in community EMS, working his way through paramedic school. He has most enjoyed his time on the road working as paramedic before accepting a more administrative position in September 2010. Even then, he would still moonlight on the ambulance missing the people, his coworkers, and comradery of the truck.

<div>When he's not working, Jim shares his life with his wife Jennifer and their son Jackson. They enjoy time together going to concerts, the beach, and RedSox games.
</div>

</div>
<div>In 2008 Jim first suffered a non-traumatic brain injury changing his life as he knew it. He was forced to change role from the provider to the patient. He endured months of rehab and relearning every day tasks. Over time Jim was able to adapt to his new way of life, and continue on his path serving others. Having to leave the road behind him, he's be able to continue his service as critical care and HEMS communications specialist.

<div>Over the better part of the last year Jim has run into complications all stemming from his original injury. This has caused him to take leave from work to focus on himself and his health. He has endured multiple inpatient stays, experimental treatments, and countless ER visits in efforts to control his latest symptoms (including but not limited to unsteady gait, double vision, and generalized weakness).
</div>

<div>Unfortunately there is a lot of unknown with his current condition and part of that unknown is when or if he'll be able to return to the job he loves.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In this time of uncertainty, I ask that if you're able to assist Jim and his family to overcome one more hurdle, it'd be the financial one. Treatments are costly. Daily life for he and his family has not stopped, and life must go on. If you're able, please consider donating to someone who has thoughtlessly given so much of himself to so many others.
