"Fit Kids" ("Swastha Baalbalika") Mark Templer and Jeroen de Beer are climbing Mount Fuji in Japan this August (8th to 16th). They will raise funds for after-school activities at the Asha School of Kathmandu, Nepal. We want our students to be fit in mind, but also fit in their bodies. We already have a football/soccer program, and now we want to start basketball coaching, dance classes, martial arts, and chess mentoring. We are aiming to raise US$10,000 to cover the cost of the coaches, materials, uniforms, etc. Please join us in this fundraiser, so the students of the Asha School can be fit and strong!

Friends! I am raising funds for a women's skilling program in New Delhi, India. We are planning on training 100 women over the next 12 months in job skills. The women chose the courses: tailoring and beauty culture. That was their choice. These women are housewives, they live in a very underserved area of the city, and they want skills that will help them set up small home-based businesses. They come from very traditional backgrounds and are usually not allowed to venture out of their homes. The total cost is $5,000. That will cover the salary of the trainers and the rent of the facility for a year. I have applied for a separate grant to cover the cost of sewing machines and other materials. Someone already gave me $250, so I am looking for $4,750. These women are amazing. They are strong, determined, and ambitious. Right now, they are learning to read and write. That is the program I volunteer with regularly while I live in Delhi. I will personally make sure the money goes to the women. Little Readers Fundraiser!!! During the month of November, our little readers at the Asha School of Kathmandu will attempt to raise $10,000 for books and educational supplies. Every time someone gives $10, a child will commit to reading a book. If you give $200, a whole class of 20 children will pledge to read one book each. And if you give $1,200, the whole school of 120 kids will all read a book! Of course, any amount is welcome, and the children will read accordingly. We love our library and we love reading! Help us raise the funds so we can buy new books and other educational aids! THANK YOU!!!
